I shouldn't have trusted you. See, I had this thing for bruisers and rule-breakers, the unattainability and exclusivity of their love and all of that. It really shouldn't matter if the guy who sold me ever felt that way about me, yet here I am. Was anything we had real? I mean, besides the stitches I gave you and the bar diplomacy I had to play when you got stupid and drunk.

I wasn't even that angry when you betrayed me. "Fair enough. I should have known better." that's what I thought at the time.

Julie was right.

So. Looking back at it all, what would I change?

Logic would dictate ever agreeing to leave the fort, but you know what? I probably would do it alp again. We saved a lot of people, shared plenty of times using our bodies as grimy, irradiated demonstrations for friction. I loved when you lit my cigarette with yours, the way you held the back of my neck and pulled me in.

I loved you, and I really shouldn't have.
