favorite thing about them: I love when characters of silly origins are elevated to greater heights and even eventually reach "good guy" protagonist status because that means you will see more of them. His backstory is deliciously dramatic and I'll watch it again and again honestly, which is good because they just keep feeding it to us. While I do love the gremlin vibe he had initially at his creation, I love him even more now that he is characterized as a noble family man at heart, but is an extremely emotional, impulsive and selfish man who will seek revenge regardless of everyone else's sake, which makes him easy to manipulate, and that makes for an interesting character to watch. Plus he has an edge that I like a lot. His growth is amazing too, his entire character resolves around revenge yet they showed him being able to go past that once he's done. Plus he's just cool looking, cool name, cool weapons coupled with an iconic trademark line, sounds really nice to listen to btw, can teleport, associated with fire, canon dilf... 👌 have you seen his fucking tits.

least favorite thing about them: He's not the main character of MK, but he IS the main mascot and they love him so much that they will try to shove his story again and again with the "main plot" when really it's his own thing and should stay that way. Like, either give him his own stuff and really commit to it like, bite the bullet and make him the main character of his own story, or keep his story tame in the general plot so it doesnt invade stuff unrelated to him. They also tend to... make him go through the same stuff again and again both in-universe and in the meta despite him developing as a character? like surely there's some more interesting stuff to do with him? You guys did great with Grandmaster Hanzo Hasashi in mkx and in mk11, he was one of the best thing in there (except his death which wasnt bad per se but couldve been more). ALSO HANZO "SCORPION" HASASHI LET YOUR HAIR DOWN AT LEAST ONCE CHALLENGE.

favorite line: easy af when the guy literally has a catchphrase, but I do like "GET THE FUCK OVER HERE" because why. Was he not edgy enough? Its so funny I love it. But more seriously Scorpy has great lines, I really do like when he's doing the "actually revenge sucks dude trust me" speeches, his whole speech to his younger self in mk11 for exemple, and the one in battle of the realms ("That's what makes you different. That's what makes you better."😳). REALLY fond of the one exchange with Bi-Han in mk9 ("To hell with your clan!" "No. TO HELL WITH YOU!" *literally drags his ass downstairs/to literal hell*). He has a lot of good intros but I swear theres hours of those and I've been here long enough I'm not going back there to find my favs.

brOTP: I really like the friendship he has with Kenshi. "Hey Scorpy I'm on the run with my son Takeda, can I drop him at your place and can you raise him for me?" "I'm Hanzo but you got it man and also that's my son now thank you very much". Love how seriously he took his role of foster father Grandmaster to Takeda too. AND ALSO it's SO funny to me that technically Hanzo and Jax are in-laws now, their shared intros are so funny because of that.

OTP: Genuinely want to see more of him and Harumi, we've seen him be a great dad there and there but we have yet to seen him actually be a husband, and I wanna see how he was with her, her death and their son's is literally his main motivation, the pain of losing them is the source of his powers and is integral to his story, so I know it's safe to assume that he loved her very very deeply and I want to actually see that... now with that being said Hey So What's Going On With Sub-Zero, Man? Listen listen listen, It's about the enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, It's about the irony of falling for your nemesis, your rival, your foil, the clan he's a part of killed your family, sending you on the path of revenge, you killed his family, sending him on a path mirroring your own, It's about him being better in some way over you, It's about you both being tricked and enslaved by the same evil, it's about him reaching out to you to make things right when he find out the truth, and meaning it, It's about forgiveness and understanding, It's about you two working together afterward times and times again, It's about becoming familiar enough with each other, It's about finally avenging your clan and family and are no longer feeling constant rage and sorrow leaving you filled with emptiness instead, and It's about healing, It's about learning to love again, It's about being equals. You're fire, He's ice, It's about thermoregulation. "This is for Hanzo." "Scorpion was your enemy once." "He was my equal." / "You are nothing like Kuai Liang." "You flatter, Scorpion." nOTP: the obvious ones naturally. But honestly he doesnt much chemistry with... about anyone else, so he's kind of on his own and when I see him with someone that's not Sub-Zero I'm like okay? How tho? What do you work with? Also speaking of Subz, idk maybe I'm spoiled with how much there's to work with Kuai Liang and how positive it is, but I just don't see it with Bi-Han at all.

random headcanon: cooking with scorpion is real and he can cook really well but he truly shines with pastries. Also Im more of a "Rope Spears were common weapons in the Shirai Ryu, but Hanzo is by far the best one at it" rather than Hanzo downright invented the weapon.

unpopular opinion: I dont know enough about the general opinion people have about scorpion to know if I have an unpopular one, he's cool and I like him! He IS in that wierd limbo where he is simultanously overrated and underrated tho, it's weird. Also I think they have got to stop acting like Sub-Zero has won less against him than the opposite tho and that Subz is generally "weaker" than him? And I hate that he lost his new clan AGAIN in the comics like come on. He had to rebuilt it twice??? Give him a break.
