JoiPlay: A Way to Play Visual Novels on Android?

My laptop is skating on thin ice right now, and I don't want to risk starting something I can't finish, or worse, losing all the progress I made using it. So, in my search for android-friendly mobile visual novels, I have come across an app that may fulfill my needs.

This is a personal process/review post, and I am not well versed in making sure software in general is safe before I download it. Please use caution if you intend to use this app.

Some notes:

JoiPlay is a game launcher available for android devices. Currently, I have downloaded Blooming Panic, seekL, and Colored Gaze to play on my Samsung phone.

My phone has an extract function for zip files, making this step painless. The setup for the app is simple, as was importing the games. What's next on the agenda is trying it out. 🤞🏾

It is made to run Ren'Py, RPG Maker XP/VX/VX Ace/MV/MZ, TyranoBuilder, Construct 2&3, Flash and HTML5 based games.

It doesn't emulate any operating systems, like Windows, so games that depend on specific files associated with them won't work.

The compatibility rate for RPG Maker games is 70%, but for all other game types, it's 90%.

The main website has a link to install the app via Google Play, but it seems to have been taken down.

hi aali! first, i’m so sorry that your posts have been being flagged :( you’re an amazing writer, and it’s not cool that some people’s responses to that is jealous, vindictive actions.

i know this is a sensitive topic so you obvs don’t have to answer if you don’t want to, but i have a couple questions about the community labels/flagged posts, and you’re the nicest person i could think of to ask. i’m new to tumblr and I still don’t really understand the point of reporting posts (barring the obvious, that is), or how reporting/flagging differs from needing a community label. does flagging/labels hide your fics from the tags, or just put them in “limbo” until they can be reviewed by the tumblr gods? are the community labels hurting creators ability to share their content, or do they actually help filter the dash? i’m very very confused, and none of the tumblr-sanctioned guidelines are clear in explaining :(

so !! community labels are still very much a new thing and not a lot of people know about them. i guess when you start tumblr nowadays, all community labels are automatically turned on — meaning any post/content with a community label will be hidden from your view. meaning, people who don’t know about the labels, don’t know to turn them off, and are kept from seeing posts from people they follow that have them on!!

it’s to be noted that posts with community labels still go into main tags but can only be seen by people who have turned ‘hide community labels’ off.

the issue for a lot of writers or artists like myself, is that there seems to be no review system for when people misuse the community label reporting feature. you can say anything and 9/10 the post will get flagged with one. getting your post reviewed for the removal of the label doesn’t seem to do much either, you often get stuck with it.

i guess it does put posts into a limbo because from experience, anything i’ve posted now with a community label gets little to no interaction whatsoever — it hurts creative accounts in a way because interaction here is so low as it is, with a label it just gets even more demotivating. there’s legit no difference between labels and flagging, it kills interaction.

i can see why tumblr implemented the system, to protect people from seeing possible triggers or maybe minors ( who aren’t supposed to be on the app lol ) but it’s still a very shit system, not very well thought out imo. anyways !! sorry for the rant and i hope this somewhat helps 🥺 have a nice day beautiful <3

Hiii! I know I’m relatively new here but I came across your story about a week or so ago and it’s very hard for me to like how people write Andrews Peter… but have captivated me and stole my soul! I have been raving about this story to my man since I found it! I have NEVER found a Mafia Peter Parker story and you have given me waaay more than I could have ever asked for! Oh my goodness I love your writing so so much and I just wanna say thank you! It may not be much but it means so much to me to finally have someone who writes Peter and do it justice! I have one other writer that does amazing but you are such a close second! This last chapter ripped my heart out and I am so sad at the ending however I just KNOOOOW you’re gonna have a kickass redemption! I can’t wait to see what comes next!
