If you don’t want to give up on writing for now, you could stick to short drabbles/short scenario replies to asks or post less (or both) and maybe that way you won’t give up entirely but also won’t pressure yourself into writing too much and maybe you’ll get that motivation back

But if you feel like maybe taking a break from writing is what’s best for you, that is ofc also valid

the thing is: i wanna write so bad!!! literally do not want to give up at all—and i frequently go weeks without writing anything. but when i do try writing, whether it be a reply to an ask, a little thought/drabble, etc, i just . can’t . for the life of me write a single thing despite all the ideas running through my head. like it’s so hard??

perhaps—a true, proper break is what i need. not sure, but i think i’ll try it out.
