Kinda weird but as another kinghead which characters would you love to see crossover and meet each other (the actual canon meetups don't count). That or if you could swap characters into another story who would it be! also for my own personal entertainment bill denbrough and paul sheldon should link up and pretentious tf out. i would love to see literally any of the losers club with the shining (although u could definitely Propose that the lucky 7 kind of canonly have it) especially mike. or full blown carrie white/charlie mcgee mind powers especially bev (carriecore) or eddie (charliecore).

the sad thing about writing Lemongrab... is that I am not smart or pretentious enough to write him. Lemongrab says shit like “if you are the head that floats atop the ziggeraut then the stairs leading to you must be infinite” without a second thought. I cannot even begin to imagine, comprehend, or understand what his taste in literature is like. Lemongrab probably thinks gnosticism is for babies and that Jorge Luis Borges is super easy to understand.

I sent a reply on the cottage thing, but for some reason it didn't tag you. Who is Charlie? (I'm English, the only Scot history I had was at university, y1, but... I'm interested 😊)

I did get tagged and I replied, but I like this bit of history so I’m gonna answer it here too! (Full disclosure, I’m American--I moved to Scotland last year and I’m a bit of a history nerd, so actual Scots please feel free to chime in.)

Bonnie Prince Charlie is Prince Charles Stuart, and he was the face of the 1745 Jacobite uprising. He tried to claim the throne in the name of his father, James Stuart, who was heir to the throne for a hot minute as a baby, and the highland clans gathered behind him. He almost made it, but one of the English lads had a birthday and long story short, the uprising was crushed in the Battle of Culloden.

It was the beginning of the end of the Highland clans, and is usually tied in with the Clearances, although historians argue that there’s not as big a link between the two as the Scots would have you believe. (Historians also argue that Alexander the Great and Hephestion were “just friends”, though, so take their assertion with a grain of salt.)

Anyway, this is in response to me coining the term “Charliecore” in reference to the innate colonialism of the phrase “cottagecore” and if that’s not Tumblr for you I don’t know what is.

Thinking about Lemongrab 1 as Pb’s narrative foil and a living testament to her mistakes as a person and ruler in that she created a society where people like him can go unpunished purely by virture of being ruling class, because by legally protecting the ways that she mistreats her subjects she opened the door for people like Lemongrab to thrive in the systematic inequality she created. me looking at all the times I’ve drawn lemongrab sleeping/ written fics where he falls asleep having gotten diagnosed with a condition that causes fatigue, and also realising my insomnia may be very severe: OH

I loveeee thinking about early Lumpygrab and Lemongrab learning to trust and open up to someone and LSP learning how to have healthy and stable relationships after a lifetime of being quite isolated from other people and having her ability to form relationships really suffer for it. 

Like I think LSP would give Lemongrab the care and attention he desperately needs and also make him more confident, plus she has a caring and vulnerable side that’s been deeply hurt that he’d bring out in her. And I think seeing himself have a positive impact on LSP by making her more open with her emotions, and how she’d benefit as a person who’s very insecure about herself from being around Lemongrab, would make Lemongrab love himself a lot more. In general it’s hard to feel good about yourself when you don’t see the positive impact you can have on the world and on other people, so I think they’d like... really give each other a safe haven and relate to each other a lot.

I know I joked about it on my server calling him pathetic and saying he has a weak grip, BUT I do think Lemongrab 3 losing his sword is actually a good symbolic moment for his character. It shows a move away from violence and lashing out at people, and specifically, a move away from Lg1 (original owner of the sound sword) and that’s kind of significant for him as a character. The fact that he has no weapon in a world where almost everyone is violent or willing to be violent in some varying degree. (also. this is why I’m annoyed by the scene where he uses Finn’s sword to blast that guy that guards Matthew’s Mountain. It’s a funny moment but it undoes some of his character development that episode for a cheap gag - which sadly is how AT treats the character development of side characters... a lot.)

I also think it’s interesting that he doesn’t gain a weapon in the battle in CAWM. Like it’s kind of sad because it shows how little he gives a shit about himself and his safety, as well as perhaps... his uneasy alliance with Pb. He’s willing to be there (it’s the earls job to lead the king’s army after all) but he isn’t willing to fight for her. And also idk.... he’s wearing protective armour but has no weapon to hurt people with. It shows that he values protection and defense over attack. And given that the biggest character moment he had in his armour wasn’t defending Ooo but letting himself be loved that feels very significant. Idk.
