You up for taking another Sanders Sides fic request? Lesbian!Prinxiety, trans woman!Virgil called Virginia, pregnant/cis woman!Roman called Robin. How about some fluff about Ro telling Virge the good news?
Hi, sorry this took a little while for me to get to. Let's get right on that, shall we?
Big News (GB!Roman x GB!Trans!Virgil Fpreg)
Tumblr media
It wasn't intentional. Just a night of fun with an accidentally broken condom that led to the situation Robin was in now. She was lucky that they both had a stable income and a roof over their heads. And Robin loved kids! She worked as a "princess" for children's birthdays and such. And most of them were so innocent and endearing and her job never failed to make her baby fever skyrocket. "Not now though," she always told herself.
But she supposed the universe disagreed with her as to when.
Her biggest issue right now was figuring out how to tell Virginia. Her girlfriend, who tended to act like any minor inconvenience was the end of the world as she knew it. Something Robin had teased her about when she first met her in high school. When they hated each other's guts. Before being forced to work on a science presentation caused them to become friends. Before she came out to her as being trans. Before Robin asked Virginia out on a date just after high school ended. Before they moved in together. Before this... It helped Robin to think of it like that. Just another step in their relationship. In their lives.
Still, she wasn't even completely certain if Virginia wanted kids. She'd never talked about it fully. Robin wasn't even sure if she'd ever mentioned the prospect of having kids in their relationship. What if she didn't want the baby. What if she abandoned them. She posted as she stood awkwardly at their bedroom doorway, watching her beautiful girlfriend read one of her eery horror novels under the lamp-light. Until her gaze met her own and Robin went rigid, face flushed pink, realising she'd just been staring at her for what felt like ages now. But Virginia merely rolled her eyes fondly. She smirked and patted the empty side of their shared bed, as an invitation.
Robin smiled slightly, but wasted no time in crawling under the covers next to her. She snuggled up next to her warm body. Robin used to think the edgier girl was all sharp edges but, as it turns out, she did have her soft spots. To take her mind off of her own personal dilemma, she looked up at what the other girl was reading. She chuckled softly. "How come you can read that, but can't sleep with the door fully closed?" Robin asked, amused. Virginia merely shrugged, not knowing the answer herself. The workings of her mind were a mystery to most.
Then Robin decided to put a toe into the water, to check the temperature. "Hey, Virge?" she asked, quietly, despite her usual attitude. "How do you feel about kids?" Her words were slow and careful, and she watched her girlfriend's expression for any sign of acceptance or denial. To her dismay it didn't change much, giving her minimal help. "What, like, to have or just in general?" Virginia teased slightly, before becoming a little more serious. "I mean, I wouldn't jump right on that train right away but... it could be nice."
Robin wasn't sure wether that was quite the response she wanted or not, but it was good at least. She wasn't sure how else to tease the idea, so she just figured the temperature was right and jumped into the water without any doubts. "Oh, well that's... nice, because I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant. I found out a few days ago..."
Virginia froze. She closed her book (without marking her current page, which she'd then grumble about tomorrow night). Her face was blank and expressionless, and Robin began to recoil, worrying that this was all too much to soon and that she'd made a mistake. But then Virginia sat up straighter, locking eye contact with her pregnant girlfriend, beginning to tear up... And then she smiled.
"A... baby?" she managed to get out. "Oh my God Robbie!" And Robin was so ecstatic that her girlfriend was happy with the news that she enveloped her in a bone-crushing bear hug. Stunning her girlfriend a little. "Woah, okay, okay! I can't be this kid's mom if you kill me idiot!" she joked, though she was laughing. Lightheartedly and joyfully. Something Robin wished she could hear much more often.
They finally settled back down into bed. Virginia played with Robin's hair as she usually did as they discussed how far they'd come, how and when they would tell friends and family, etc. And Robin was so unbelievably grateful that Virginia was content with starting a family. Their little family. Just the three of them against the world...
