( ooc ): Zoey is one of my lowkey muses, but I go absolutely feral over her character in The Passing & The Scarifice dlc(s). I always imagined Zoey was seen as the younger sister of the group to some extent, always bubbly, comedic in times of crisis and uncertainty. But when Bill dies, a man who was her father figure, she hardens. Zoey is someone who already witnessed her parents dying in front of her and I believe she was really close to her father, Bill being the stand-in after that. There's a lot of unexpressed and unexplored grief inside her over that. Bill is just the last straw and Zoey really comes into her own, stepping into the leader position. Small parts of her "former" self shines through, she's still humorous at times and always willing to give a helping hand, but she really steps into her own. I think with her crush on Ellis, he allows her to open up and almost reminds her of herself a little. He's such a bundle of joy in a time that's not so great.

Miscellaneous headcanons

        Zoey gets bad migraines when she's stressed

        Eleanor is really into philosophy

        Ensign Baker really wishes he could get a hang of embroidery from seeing all of the neat designs and creations the older women at his orphanage made. He likes the sound of someone embroidering and considers it to be a comfort to listen to. He also has an odd liking for how the embroidery process looks. When he tries it himself, he gets frustrated and it all seems to fall apart because he leaves a very messy backing to his project. This allows for other loose strands of embroidery floss to sneak into the surface of his creation. He really wishes he could figure it out.

        Other than not making his bed, Ensign baker doesn't tend to organize his desk space (if he ever gets one). He knows how to tidy up and organize for appearance purposes, but he doesn't prefer to keep his desk organized. No matter how much he may organize, his desk falls into a disorganized mess. So organization is tedious to him because of the end result.

       Okay so even with all of their differences, what if they struck some similarity with thier music tastes? Zoey’s music tastes are sort of all over the place generally, but she would find some connection with Nick by telling him his music was similar to what her dad listened to. She’ll say his music is “tolerable” to jab at him a little, but she won’t argue with him if he takes control of the music at some point.

For each “⭐” I get, I’ll write a headcanon about our muses. / @strictlycanon​​ – accepting

      Zoey never opened up about how her mother turned into a zombie, bit her dad, and how she abided by his request to shoot him and then learned about how he was likely one of those people who can’t get infected. That is until right before Bill sacrifices himself. Outside on watch, in all of her fury, Zoey tells him about it and it’s part of why she doesn’t want to leave anyone behind to meet the fate of turning and she wants to atone (in a way) for that event. If she can help someone, she will. Then, it’s never exactly told about how she sees him as a father figure but it’s picked up quickly by the two of them.

      I feel like the group often goes on watches where two people will be asleep and in exchange, two other people will stay awake. In a few of these instances, Rochelle has stayed awake with Nick. Despite whatever protesting Nick may give, I really like to imagine one of these times Nick fell asleep (on her shoulder maybe?) and she just chuckled to herself and let him to sleep.
