IkeSen “Ieyasu’s B-Day Fest” Event Review
Tumblr media
Confession time: I haven’t done a single non-premium route yet. I’m just too damn lazy to read the same story over and over again in search of a slightly different ending, lmao. But in any case, here are my quick thoughts on the two routes we got!
Tumblr media
Waiting Tables for You: MC sees a beautiful short sword on sale for a ton of money. And instead of haggling the price down like a normal person, she gets a job as a temp tea shop waitress for two days while Ieyasu’s gone to raise the funds, lol. All for Ieyasu’s birthday, of course! Features:
#1 Ieyasu fanboy, Sasuke
Hideyoshi and Masamune using their star power to draw customers in
This amazing Ieyasu-ism: “You really shouldn’t have said that. Why? Because now I have to kiss you. And other stuff too.” 😂
Overall this story doesn’t contain much Ieyasu until the end, but I think he’s the perfect little grumpy porcupine when he does finally show, haha. Also, I’m fond of the dude but do find a lot of the other warlords who cameoed to be more attractive, so I thought this story was pretty great from that perspective.
Tumblr media
His Precious Memories: Ieyasu takes MC to visit Sunpu Castle (where he grew up as a hostage) on his birthday, then detours to visit the grave of his mentor/military trainer Taigen Sessai. Fun fact: Sessai was Ieyasu’s military advisor irl, but also was the one who obtained him as a hostage for Imagawa in the first place! So I guess that means Ieyasu’s adoration involves a bit of Stockholm syndrome?! 😬I thought this story was a little slower than the other one so honestly didn’t like it as much, although I do love how it goes a little deeper on Ieyasu’s complicated/upsetting upbringing! Favorite quote: “You being happy puts me in an annoyingly good mood.”
Those are my super quick thoughts. What did you all think? Did any of you do the sweet/secret ends? Would love to know what I’m missing out on!! ^_^

Eromanga-sensei – 12 (Fin)
Sagiri allowed Masamune to attend the data collection trip because Elf and Muramasa (without her knowledge, through Elf) agreed to “do whatever Eromanga-sensei wants them to do” afterwards. In the final episode of Eromanga-sensei, the bill comes due.
Sagiri’s “festival” ensues, where she boots Masamune, puts the two girls in swimsuits, and makes them play Twister so they’ll strike lewd poses she can draw. It’s basically heaven for Sagiri and hell for Muramasa and Elf…but a promise is a promise. Needless to say, the session is also an excuse for healthy amounts of fanservice.
When Tomoe shows up at Masamune’s door to congratulate him on the success of his new imouto LN, I feared the worst: that Sagiri, suspicious of this new girl and jealous of her interactions with her dear brother, would somehow get Tomoe into a swimsuit as well, or worse.
Thankfully, that doesn’t happen, and the girl who, in hindsight, seems like the best fit for Masamune leaves with her clothes intact, having delivered a doujinshi of the little sister novel that is actual, no-nonsense porn…then says if Masamune gets an anime and becomes famous, she’d be happy to be his wife.
Sagiri inevitably gets hold of the material not suitable for her, and immediately sets to work drawing her own erotic drawings based on the little bit she saw. When Masamune can’t quite put into words why her drawings aren’t quite anatomically accurate, she and Elf decide the best way to settle things is by stripping Masamune naked…
If they had succeeded, would have been only fair considering how many girls have had to strip for Eromanga. But before they do, Masamune gets on the horn with Megumi, who for all her talk is just as clueless as Elf and Sagiri. It takes Muramasa sketching Michelangelo’s David to show them once and for all how to draw…that.
With the sun low and Eromanga all lewd drawing-ed out, she and Masamune bid farewell to her models for the day, adding they’re welcome to come back anytime. And this time Sagiri opens the window and gives them a proper wave goodbye, showing further progress in her attempt to overcome her shut-in-ism.
As frikkin’ wrong as it may be, it’s thanks to lewd art—the lewder the better—that Sagiri can forget about the crippling fear of being outside or interacting with other people. Her digital life is a means of creative expression and a (surprisingly) safe space in which to have rudimentary human contact.
And thanks to her brother’s uncanny ability to draw girls into his orbit, she now has a slew of flesh-and-blood friends to laugh and have fun with…as well as draw in risqué positions.

SLBP “To Those Who Keep Us” Pt 2 Review
Some of you may recall that I wasn’t really a big fan of the first part of this event. So how did the second batch of stories go, you ask? My quick thoughts:
Tumblr media
Kenshin is as uniquely Kenshin as he can possibly get in his route, happily picking flowers for MC and taking MC to look at pretty lakes instead of planning for Divine Rule. This pisses off Kanetsugu, who joined Kenshin in the first place because of the guy’s Japan-conquering ambitions. Eventually, MC sews some protection charms for the whole gang using pieces of a broken a headband that Short Dad once used to protect Kenshin from an arrow, and this enough to bring Kenshin back into War God mode (“I’ve decided I can no longer run from who I am”) and repair his relationship with Kanetsugu.
I thought there were a lot of great things about this route. There’s a lot of discussion about Shingen at the onsen for starters, which is fantastic continuity with Kenshin’s wedding story. There’s the deliciously spicy moments that Kenshin shares with MC (“I want to have you...with these hands of mine”). There’s even a cameo from Ai, arguably one of the cutest kids in SLBP! But honestly, I was also pretty bothered by Kanetsugu’s treatment of Kenshin in this story. I get it - future Divine Rule is what Kanetsugu signed up for, and it’s what lots of warlords in this era were expected to strive for (except Masamune, who got it right by sticking w/Oshu, imho). But from my cushy 21st century perspective, it was still upsetting watching Kanetsugu bully Kenshin back into war mode. If Kenshin’s domain is unthreatened, let the poor guy enjoy his pretty trinkets and scenery, yanno?! One would hope that as a grown-ass adult, Kenshin knows what’s best for his happiness, after all. :/
Personal enjoyment: 6/10

In Inuchiyo’s story he’s been put in charge of his own castle (?), on Nobunaga’s orders. He’s also acquired for himself an adorable little puppy named Mamechiyo ^_^ His relationship with MC is going pretty well, but other parts of his life could be better. For starters, as MC notes, he’s not very good at delegating tasks to his new retainers, often opting to do things himself instead. And when he accidentally takes over little Mamechiyo’s job of bringing money to the rice merchant, the little puppy makes it his personal mission to give Inuchiyo hell, hiding his sandals and stealing his loincloths! Lol. But in the end, the guy learns, and when a storm hits and the roof gets messed up, Inuchiyo ends up sharing the workload with everyone else, and all is well.
Inuchiyo doesn’t directly demand marriage from MC like a ton of other warlords in this route, so for that I am grateful! Standards, lol. Also I thought he and MC were pretty cute and adorable, which was a huge relief after suffering through the guy’s main story antics. There’s just one quote that I personally thought was kind of stupid, but appropriate for the time period, I suppose: “Now that I’m the man of my own house, I want to be a great one just like Milord Nobunaga...a real presence, a man’s man.” Since when was Nobunaga a man’s man?! 😂Overall, I didn’t necessarily think this route was a standout, but I did enjoy reading it.
Personal enjoyment: 6.5/10
Tumblr media
I thought Mitsunari’s route was hysterical. Here, an offhand discussion with Hideyoshi and Sakon turns M into a full on groomzilla. He prepares a multi-chapter research doc for MC about weddings. He plans out a full itinerary AND seating chart. He even drags MC kimono shopping! It’s kind of amazing, lol. But it’s a good thing MC’s around to calm the guy down, because there are other things going on in the meanwhile. Like the fact that there’s a spy in town...! Fortunately, M’s hot dead friend (not to be mistaken for Kageie, apparently) ends up helping, and using his superior intellect, Mitsunari ends up catching the culprits! The story ends with M and MC being disgustingly cute, and probably one of the most glorious Mitsunari-isms to date: “I’m SAYING that I treasure our time together, you thick-headed manju woman!” ...So MC’s been upgraded from girl to woman, eh? 😂
Even though Mitsunari never really proposed marriage to MC, I thought this route was pretty great due to the sheer hilarity of everything. The spy plot wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely exciting in its own way. Overall, even with my continued complete lack of attraction to Mitsun, I thought his story was super charming, and it was easily my favorite story of the lot! ^_^
Personal enjoyment: 9/10
All in all, I definitely enjoyed this batch of stories much more than the first batch! But you know what I’m most excited about right now? The next event’s ninja stories!! More Hanzo content, here we come!! 😍
Anyway, what did the rest of you think? :)
