In the galaxy of Veridia, amidst the swirling nebulae and radiant star clusters, there existed a world unlike any other. It was a place where beauty and technology intertwined, a planet called Luminara, known across the cosmos for its breathtaking inhabitants whose vibrant hair colors were a testament to their mastery of genetics and style.

One such being was Elara, whose hair flowed with the hues of a supernova, capturing the essence of her people's love for the artistry of life itself. Her hair, an intricate tapestry of living colors, was not just for aesthetic pleasure; it was a bioengineered wonder, capable of interacting with the ambient energy and technology that pervaded every aspect of Luminaran society.

One day, a renowned explorer and diplomat from Earth, Roger de Beaumont, arrived on Luminara. His mission was to forge an alliance with the Luminarans, for Earth had heard whispers of their advanced technology and harmonious society. Roger was a descendant of ancient Earth nobility, but here, amidst the stars, titles held little weight. It was knowledge, wisdom, and the pursuit of beauty that the Luminarans valued above all.

Elara was assigned to be his guide, and she led him through the iridescent cities, where buildings were grown from living materials and vehicles moved in silence, powered by the ambient energy that Elara's people had harnessed. Roger was astounded by the technology, but more so by the Luminarans themselves, who seemed to him like walking masterpieces, every movement a dance, every word a song.

As they traversed the city, Roger learned of the Convergence—a biannual event where the planet's energy fields aligned, amplifying their connection to the cosmos. It was during the Convergence that the Luminarans' hair would reveal its true potential, becoming a conduit for the cosmic energies, allowing them to commune with the stars and even influence the fabric of spacetime.

Roger realized the importance of this event and saw an opportunity for Earth to learn from it. He proposed a cultural exchange, where Luminarans could visit Earth and share their knowledge of energy manipulation and aesthetics, and in turn, Earth could offer insights into human resilience and adaptability.

Elara was intrigued by the proposition and brought it before the Council of Lumin. The council deliberated, intrigued by the idea of interspecies collaboration and the potential growth it could bring. They agreed to the exchange, marking the beginning of a new era for both Luminara and Earth.

When the Convergence arrived, Elara stood at the heart of a grand amphitheater, with Roger and dignitaries from various planets as witnesses. As the energy fields reached their zenith, Elara's hair became a cascade of living light, flowing and pulsating with the rhythms of the universe. The Luminarans joined hands, their hair interweaving into a luminous network, channeling the cosmic energies in a breathtaking display of unity and power.

In that moment, Roger understood that beauty was not just in the eye of the beholder but was a fundamental force, a bridge between cultures and worlds. The alliance that formed on that day was not just between planets, but between the tangible and the ethereal, the scientific and the artistic, the human and the divine.

Ooo ok I’m gonna try to do this with Choices characters.

Sloane Washington: ngl it bums me out that so many people hate her. The social awkwardness, the sometimes kind of manic intensity, the sweet affectionate nature, the nervousness about rule-breaking that constantly gets trumped by a desire to do the right thing, even her silly fiction writing. I relate to this girl a lot.

Maxwell Beaumont: Youngest child who mostly just wants to have a good time but also would appreciate if anyone would acknowledge that they are a reasonably competent adult capable of handling responsibility.

Val Greaves: Can I fix this problem by maiming somebody?

I wouldn’t want to actually LIVE in any era other than the current one, imminent collapse of society and/or the environment notwithstanding. But I really enjoy learning about the mid-20th century, from WWII to the Cuban Missile Crisis.
