When I say   “take as long as you need to reply!“   i mean it!  There’s never any pressure here to write when you aren’t feeling it. I’m not sitting at my computer judging you or thinking badly of you if you haven’t replied, yet. I understand irl stuff comes first. I understand people are dealing with a lot right now. I understand that life tends to sap energy and inspiration. It’s okay. 

So, if you’re writing with me, here’s a genuine reminder that you can always take your time. You can always drop things, and slide into my im’s to let me know you don’t have the energy/time/muse for things. I’ll never take it personally. I understand. "Hello?" Rusty calls out, slamming his breaks to a stop, causing his train to jostle a bit behind him. Rusty turns around and apologizes quietly before standing up as tall as he can and calling out to the fellow piece of rolling stock who seemed to be by themself on the rail. Rusty was uncertain of how to proceed. This wasn't just some debris he could pick up and move...this machine could be hurt. He didn't want to travel any further until he was certain they were okay. "Are you alright?" Rusty calls out again, and for good measure, he whistles loudly. The kind of whistle used as an attention getter by little switching engines...he hadn't quite grown out of that habit.

few things of note now that i finally found the whole pictures of 'steve's' office (from here for others like me who were unsure) i noticed that;

a: they took away his rabbit mail holder in the actual film

but they ALSO removed that second 'award' from the corner of his shelf to put that box there. the box was originally on his actual bookcase next to the other locked box (that looks slightly similar to the fn/af4 box, i'd say a little more so than the one they moved, but whatever. also if im reading it correctly, the sticket on the box says 'ports and film.' but it may also say 'file'. the first may also say 'porth' or 'porte', i'm dyslexic so its hard to tell, but 'ports and film' make the most sense to me. )

my assumption for the rabbit mail holder was it was too on the nose, maybe, and the rabbits foot is smaller and less likely to be noticeable so its smaller easter eggs. The lamp behind him and the chairs are also spring bonnie colored if you notice, which gives more subtle hints as to who he is (honestly the fans knew, a: s/cott leaked it to d/awko immediately after m/atthew signed the contract, and b: m/atthew kind of leaked it himself too lol)

they also changed positions of a few things here and there, noticeable here when in the movie the camera focuses on mike

they sort of swapped the position of the coffee table and moved the stuff behind the chairs to the side instead.

those big file cabinets also seem to have been moved completely. which as a nerd im super interested in. i believe they put the one award they moved the box for on the wall in the screencap above.

also, another little thing i noticed; the inside of his cup kind of looks like freddy's mouth

looks a little bit like a mouth, this is the best i could find in the movie itself but one of the games had an animatronics mouth look like that (I think this is more coincidence but its a cool coincidence)

also!!! the award they moved from the shelf to put the box there instead? we see it again later, when mike calls him to ask if the jobs still open.

its on his desk, no longer framed, unfortunately i cant read what it says though.

and heres some close ups (as good as i could) of 'steve's' office. mostly things with writing on them. i sharpened them as well as i could.

the now infamous participation award is front and center of course, but i do thing the 'certificate of regional social worker of the year' award should also be noticed, bc who let him--

labels for probably files from 97 and 98.

i'm pretty sure the 099111 were numbers found on scotts website or a 'glitch' in one of the games at one point iirc. i remember the numbers from something.

i believe the one box says like, 145-176 or something. earlier i thought it said 1995-1996 but sharpening it i think it looks more three digit number to me.

standing in the open doorway of my blog. the fn.af hyperfixation is creeping back in ( not that it ever fully left ).

fast zombies will always be elite but like. i also wanna acknowledge certain movies that explore the notion of zombies becoming selective and developing social norms. like wwz explores the idea of an infectious virus that needs healthy hosts to survive, and so they won’t infect people who have any degree of disease that could be fatal. ravenous studies the idea of an unknown culture forming within the infected society. warm bodies has the idea of newly infected zombies becoming deranged with time, and the consumption of human victims brings forward moments of humanity within the infected, and that the newly infected even develop a sort of language as time passes, too. there’s so many movies that entertain the zombie genre but also offer insight into ways to enhance it, and that’s why i love the au sm, bc we could literally say anything about the zombies and it’ll be fine bc nobody is expected to have an indepth scientific knowledge in these things, the survivors just want to survive a little longer, there’s no real interest in studying the infection. aside from some media that does attempt to provide exposition, but we don’t NEED that. you can say there’s a fire-breathing zombie species and nobody can really say “MAKE IT MAKE SENSE???” bc guess what besties, a zombie virus itself doesn’t make much sense either. 

TL;DR: i used a very specific example to get here, but as writers, we don’t need to have explanations for everything we write. you don’t need to justify everything. we live in an era of “somehow, palpatine returned”. u can say “somehow there’s a fire-breathing zombie species in arizona”.

I'm torn between two options, but I want to see what y'all think.

seen a lot of posts lately about ritsuka's age & how as time goes on it's become increasingly clear that they straight up don't even know how old they are anymore, on account of all the time travel and the world being ended and stuff, and... yeah. yeah.

for my muse i'll say they use annual things (valentine's day, halloween, christmas, etc) as rough markers of when it probably is but if you ask them the date? they have no fucking clue. what year is it? well, they think it's 2023, but a lot of chaldea's staff think it's still 2019. maybe they're both right--maybe it really has been 4 years, but only for chaldea, and when the world gets fixed everyone will just carry on with it being 2019 like nothing happened but now ritsuka is in her 20s despite being born in 2001.

maybe they have a calendar in their room, and they mark the days off, but who knows if they're really marking a single day for every individual day? and what about when they go into a singularity or lostbelt and time works differently? babylonia and faerie britain both stand out in that regard--they spent months in those places, only to return shortly after they left. does that time count???

tl;dr ritsuka has no clue what the passage of time even is anymore and uses rough markers of time to maintain a sense of normalcy

i'm gonna be honest with you all, january and february have been FUNNY months for me & i've not been all that motivated to keep on top of shit but i feel like that is passing (bc i've been a little more organised with irl stuff this past week, imo) so here's hoping i get back to shit here starting this month. very sorry for my absense, esp as there ARE ppl waiting on replies from me!

i didn't mean to vanish but my brain just hasn't been WITH IT. idk, i think maybe the fact the sun is actually coming out has maybe switched my brain back on? I WANNA BE HERE. last year was my final year of uni and then i spent the half-year following pissing about so uhhh that whole year is a write-off. i wanna be active here in 2024, i promiseeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I think I’m good to call my short break over; I’ll try to catch up as best I can over the next couple days, but I’m still going to try to take it easy. We’ll uh … we’ll see how well I stick to that plan …

Also I haven’t seen my queue this short in AGES, considering it’s been flirting with the 300 post limit a lot recently. It’s far less overwhelming! Feels good!!!
