Coming into the infirmary, Clive groaned as he gently deposited Hyth onto the bed. Ugh... He looked up as he watched Tarja move to start tending to the man.
"Fucking Kupka's men," he hissed.
"NO!"
Watching as Rhea launched herself at the bed, Clive reached out to grab Rhea. "Let me go, Clive!!!"
"No! He needs rest and for Tarja to look at his wounds. He's going to be okay."
"He's in a pool of his own blood!!! Look at him!!! I can't lose him..." Slumping in his arms, Rhea choked on a sob. "He's all I have. He's all I have..."
Clive sighed as he pulled the smaller woman into a hug.
"I know...I know..."

More Fire + Ice = Water AU Notes
AU Information: A FFXVI canon-divergence where Clive and Jill got busy during the five-year timeskip and ended up having a daughter. A daughter who happens to be the Dominant of The Lost, Leviathan.
Some notes:
Her name is Morgan (Morgan is apparently a water based name?)
She’s a kid with too much energy, as her parents like to say. Negotiations for proper bed/nap times are long.
Her nickname is Morgie
She loves to cuddle Torgal. She sometimes hides underneath him when she’s hiding from her parents.
Is currently four years-old by time the timeskip ends.
Clive and Jill adore her to bits, even though they can’t always stay with her when their ‘Cid the Outlaw’ duties come into play.
Byron has an absolute blast being a Grunkle. Although he shouldn’t be teaching a little girl to lift a big axe just yet.
Morgan was born during a hurricane. Some people of the Hideaway say that the storm let up when the baby began to laugh, but no one knows if that’s true.
Morgan had a fascination with water ever since she began to crawl. It drove her parents mad whenever she tries going into the water — even though she had no clue how to swim. Clive and Jill had to teach her to swim at a very early age.
No one, at the time of that hurricane, knew that the Leviathan had returned. Leviathan’s return only became apparent some time after Clive and Jill decided to take Morgan with them on a ‘Cid’ run.

Say what you want, there is no greater power move than Clive going "And should you try to move him from that pod, this whole fortress will detonate" AND THEN having the nerve to start his next sentence with "Also-" as if this situation was still a bit too minor for his liking

I'm the one who organized our bookshelves because I'm autistic and neurotic about everything being in the right spot and Scribe mostly does not care as long as she can find things, but I did consult her when I was devising the system and my favorite moment was when I was putting together the shelf that goes:
Poetry ----> Epics/Medieval Lit ----> Tolkien -----> Languages
And at one point I told her "I put the one C.S. Lewis book next to the Tolkien section since it fit the theme so they can be friends" and she was immediately like "What?? Do we own by C.S. Lewis??" because our household consists of:
Me, has weird Narnia trauma, Jewish now
Her, grew up extremely non-religious and hisses like a cat at Christianity
(The answer was an anthology of his academic writing on medieval and Renaissance literature, which makes perfect sense for us, but it was her initial deep and utter confusion when I mentioned it than made me laugh)

The Lord of Flies trails along after Clive throughout the Hideaway, not getting in the way yet not not getting in the way; it is a persistent presence not unlike a stray puppy. Appearing to all of the world as if it is a wayward child, anyone with any knowledge of the eikon could surely tell that this, and the ever-watchful man with the hair of silver that matches the "child's" that lingers nearby, are far from normal.
"Vegnagun," Sephiroth speaks with only a glance their way. "You're being a nuisance." "I'm not," the egi replies firmly. "I'm helping."
[ have some fun with @warofthebeasts seph's 16 au for clive. 8D ]
It was like having a living shadow, following his every move along the Hideaway, despite the seemingly regular errands he was completing for the day. Come to think of it, it reminded him of small Torgal, way back when... It was both cute and... strange.
Ultimately, when the egi is called out, Clive feels compelled to acknowledge their presence and turn around. He had thought, with time, they'd get bored and move away... Maybe, he was wrong.
"Do you... want to help?" Clive asks, hoping it comes out as kind as he wants it to sound. Walking around like his shadow had surely unnerved some people, here and there... Clive assumed that, if they saw the other carrying boxes or fruits like him, they'd warm up to the notion of the walking shadow...
"There are some fruits I must deliver to the other side of the Hideaway. Would you give me a hand or two with them?" He turns briefly to the older one. "I could use all the help I can get."

When generic non-boss enemies act cocky and arrogant in cutscenes about how they’re gonna wipe the floor with my ass so the instant the cutscene ends and the battle encounter starts it’s on sight and very personal

❀*ೃ༄ people and creatures all gathered together to commune in the waters of styx . spared from the heat of early summer , it seemed like a good spot as any to cool down . hands collect water to press to her face , and as she wipes her eyes clear , her vision is invaded by sight of a wolf swimming past . how nobody pays mind is beyond her – such a sight would have had people in a tizzy , no doubt . but here , it is treated as if it were a sight too common to bother batting an eye .
and even she has to admit . . . the way the beast paddles back to its commander and shakes dry is cute .
“ you must have a lot of trust in that beast of yours . i've heard of people training wild creatures , but a wolf is a . . . bold choice of pet . ”
