maya looks to her best friend, forcing a smile onto her face as she does. “it’s nothing, riles, really. i’m just - a little tired.” she reaches out to grab one of the other’s hands in her own, attempting to widen her smile even more. she hopes riley doesn’t notice how fake it is. “i mean, you know i’m so so happy for you, right?” it’s not a total lie, if riley’s happy, she’s happy. that’s how it’s always been ... she just never anticipated how much this would kill her inside. “i promise i’m okay.”

Maya said, slight shake of her head as she cut across her best friend to point to the men a few feet away from them. Something about them seemed shady, like they were up to no good, and after spending so long fighting crime - Maya kind of had a sixth sense for that kind of thing. "C'mon." She pulled the other gently by her wrist into an alleyway, where they couldn't really be seen. "I'm going to try listen in on what they're saying, and then The Blonde Beauty will make an appearance if she needs to."

concern shoots across maya’s face as she looks to riley, frowning slightly. “hey riles, i like you. i love you, and so do so many other people.” an arm goes to wrap around riley’s shoulders, pulling her close to her. “what’s going on? is everything okay? talk to me?” she doesn’t know if it’s just riley’s insecurities at play or if something deeper is going on, if someone’s said something to her, but either way she’ll be there for her. she’ll always do her best to be there for riley.

“hey riles.” maya said, trying to calm her racing heart and appear as casual as possible. she plastered a smile on her face, hoping it looked like the one usually reserved for the brunette and not the fake, forced smile that it was. she brushed some hair behind her ear, telling herself to relax. “sorry i, uh, ran out of the party like that. it just got a little ... intense in there. i mean who knew college kids still played spin the bottle?” she let out a light laugh, hoping she could just keep the mood light.

Disney by Night...

OOC: this event will span over the course of Friday - Sunday as I know the weekend can get busy or it's hard just to plot such a big event in one night. So, we'll do it throughout the weekend so everybody gets the opportunity to take part at least a little bit!

Riles, what happened?” Maya found herself blinking in shock, her best friend was one of the last people on earth she’d ever expect to end up in detention ... well aside from those two times in middle school, but one of those had been because of Maya herself. If Riley was in detention and it hadn’t been because of her best bad influence (Maya) then something was seriously wrong.

If wasn’t even the implication that Riley had been using the skills she’d been picking up, because while that was still shocking Maya had been nothing but supportive there, it was more so just the fact that something serious enough had happened for Riley Matthews to end up detention. “Does your dad know?” She asked as she made her way to her car, well the car she shared with her mom - thank god she was off today. “But I’ll be there soon and I’ll get you to the museum, don’t worry.”

"and i'm right here. it's you and me forever, right? there's nothing you have to do without me by your side." and even if riley hasn't said it, she's secure in the fact that the same goes for her. they've done everything together for as long as they've known each other, and she has faith that that's not going to change. it's the one thing she knows for sure in her life.

No offense, you look like a baby kitten. No one would take you seriously.”
