currently they stand at the edge of the room , leaning against one of the many pillars that circled the floor , watching with envy as he so easily flirts with a circle of guest . even if they know it's false , even with the many promises that no matter what he would only ever have eyes for them .

they can't help but be jealous .

ajax huffs , pouting as they keep their eyes trained on their partner . it's almost as if he knows they're staring as only a few seconds later they watch as kaeya lifts his head and turns to look at them . they keep eye contact , head tilting curiously as they continue to stare .

they're half tempted to walk over , and they do move to stand before freezing as kaeya lifts his hand .

they stop , snorting softly as they watch him press a kiss to his palm , his hand moving towards them blowing a kiss . they sigh , leaning back against the pillar once more . they know what it means , a promise for his attention later , a small warning not to make a scene like they normally would .

it's not enough , but it satiates them for now . they can allow him to have his fun knowing all the while that as soon as this gala was over , it would be their bed that he would end up in .

VERSE DROP : court of tides  .

Born to the Western Kingdom of Essetir, Court of Tides, Prince Arlo's destiny has been pretty much predetermined since he was old enough to tie his own laces. The eldest Thompson child is a woman, Tiffany, and thus she is not expected to ascend the throne–however, from an early age it was clear that Arlo was not meant to lead, and his pretty face made it that much easier for the King and Queen to prepare the boy for life as a courtesan/mistress. It was ultimately decided that whatever man Tiffany might marry would be King, as their son could be an Essitirian heir, with both his father's blood and their mother's royal blood. 

Essetir borders the warrior Kingdom of Castremam ( in conjuncture with @tartt9 ) on the west, overseeing a series of port towns and inland towns closer to the castle. Several trade routes pass through Essetir and are only accessible through their many ports, thus making the Kingdom an incredibly strong trade economy. Thanks to Essetir's topographical position, the Kingdom is also home to several smaller fishing and farming villages, meaning they are rich in resources as capital. It seems like Essetir has it all, from a vast amount of land, to highly coveted trade routes and an abundance of resources–however, they are very much lacking in military power, and despite the political scheming of the ruling class nobles, if faced with a hostile takeover or coup, Essetir would likely fall. This where Prince Arlo comes in. Should Essetir wish to ever align themselves with a strong military power and form an allegiance with a stronger kingdom, they plan to marry Arlo off to that kingdom's prince or princess. This is how Prince Arlo discovers his love of music and his people. In her endeavors to make Arlo an appealing pawn, Queen Veronica ensures that Arlo receives training in all the forms of finery as she sees fit–etiquette training, musical training, political literacy–Arlo is coached on how to sit, how to speak, and how to appease. Queen Veronica doesn't count on Arlo's love of music, however; at age 16 the boy begins composing his own music and performing in the city for nobles and commonfolk alike. Disliking that Arlo has developed an interest outside of serving the throne and fulfilling his role as a pawn, Queen Veronica demands that Arlo cease his musical training and be confined to the castle the following weeks.  Having spent his entire life doing exactly what he's told, when he's told, Arlo escapes the castle and runs away to a neighbouring fishing village. For a week he is not found, and he trades song and story for shelter with the village locals, befriending everyone down to the town crones and the tavern drunks. When he is finally found by a search party of knights, for the first time in his life, Arlo makes a demand of his parents–either they let him continue his pursual of music, both in lesson and in practice, or he'll do this again. He'll make their lives living hell lest they allow him this one freedom. Impressed by his sudden bravery, and worried by their eldest daughter's increasingly headstrong behavior, the King and Queen agree to Arlo's terms. From there on, Arlo continues composing his own music, eventually composing poetry and literature as well, and becomes known across Essetir as the Kingdom's Shining Jewel. His songs are known all throughout the land, and he himself is known as a prince of the people. The ruling class nobles all look down their noses at Arlo for it, and are ever-eager to marry him off and out of Essetir for good. Prince Arlo will likely never marry for love, and lest he is rescued by some outside party or interloper, he will likely never be free of the Essitirian Court's thumb. He is destined to be a pawn…that is, unless your muse decides otherwise.

THE MAIN STAGE IS EMPTY, FOR ONCE, THE ANIMATRONICS OTHERWISE OCCUPIED. Michael — Mike, he tells himself firmly, though it’s hard to shed his father’s strict dislike for nicknames — chooses the corner to sit anyway, broad back pressed against the thin wall and knees brought up to his chest. It feels a little more bearable like this, everything that’s happened, though the sight of the empty pizzeria while NOT being in the security office is still incredibly unsettling. Not for the first time, he wonders how Vanessa copes with it: and then is instantly reminded that they’ve been in the exact same position. Though his father doesn’t often let him in the pizzeria past closing time unless it’s to keep watch, which he always does from that same office. The sight of the half empty drink can and the faded, festering posters are more familiar and comforting than anything he’s seen here in this timeline […] though the knowledge that the oldest Afton child cannot escape their father in any universe is disheartening.

“I dunno,” he says, evasive, and focuses on twisting the cheap metal ring around his middle finger, unable to look at Vanessa, “I’ve done— I’ve done a lotta bad things. Sure, life was shit, but—”

But he loved me, at least. I don’t know if your father loves you.

It’s complicated. Mike’s eyes burn with it all, though later he’ll blame the stage lights. He’d never believed his father loved him until he’d arrived here, in this timeline where so much is different but so much is the same — no Charlie, but a missing Garrett. No Michael . . . But Vanessa instead. He doesn’t quite know what to make of it all, and sure, things had been awful, but had they been this bad?

In fairness, maybe this is what other people see when they look at him. Isn’t it always easier to see the flaws in someone else’s relationship than see the flaws in your own? Headache forming, one hand lifting to rub insistently at his forehead and sweep away the thoughts and dark floppy hair he hasn’t managed to make presentable in years, Mike continues:

“I got out.” Mostly, anyway. Though his father asks and Mike still comes crawling, switching from thirty-three to thirteen again in an instant at the sound of his father’s orders. When he meets her eyes, there’s an earnest kindness, a world-weariness beyond his years— “You’re still stuck cleaning up after him. You don’t deserve that. When was the last time he even thanked you, huh?”

{ OOC / HC } Meltdown by Motionless In White

Since you mentioned the trio, all of these songs are going to be involved with the bad ending verse~ And this is the main song of that playlist. It's supposed to be a foil of another song by the same band. Which has similar themes ('cause they were on the same album so, duh) and I thought it was neat because both songs actually parallel to each other. Hence why I feel like this song to specifically fit the bad ending vibes~

'Spiral to extinction, and we know we're fucked,'' 'Cause you can't spell out "virus" without "us", ''The end of mankind will be televised,''On tonight's series finale, we're all gonna fucking die.'

It's a fun play on words, but it does describe the plan that they're doing. The three of them are going to be the cause of the so called "apocalypse" of the Citadel. Committing genocide and wiping out all existences of Ricks and Mortys. The last line has a double meaning. On the first level, it's the confirmation that everyone is going to die by Evil Morty's hand. On the second level, it's a nod to Rick V-79's plan of killing the trio at the very last minute, finally enacting his revenge plot.

'Side effects are not allowed,' 'But may include a meltdown,' 'Celebrate the fallout.'

The fact that Evil Morty won't take no for an answer. He's made up his mind on how he wants the end to look. How he wants to get out of the curve (so he thinks.) In his mind, this is the biggest win of them all. A twisted sort of gratification that has been bestowed onto him. And one that he's actually excited for. So he'll stand for nothing to get in his way.

This whole song has apocalyptic vibes and talks about the world ending. So it's perfect to fantasize about a whole mass plot to explode the Citadel and kill every single Rick and Morty in the multiverse.

{ OOC / HC } THE PURGE by In this Moment

For the bad ending verse, this song is basically Rick V-79's mindset during the entire thing. His role in this scenario isn't a second-in-command, it's the advisor. The right hand man. He's at Evil Morty's side, displayed as someone who's feeding the president the ideas. And he is. He's the true mastermind of this whole operation.

'You're pushing back and forth and forth and back again,' 'They said that you were free, now you're locked in a cage,' 'You're pushing lies like your life is on the line.'

Despite the control he has over the situation, he does allow Evil Morty to do what he needs in order to gain back his trust. A few of these things are actually locking him in a cage and also wearing a collar that sends electroshock waves whenever Rick V-79 is out of line. And these specific lines fit well to that.

It's not any surprise that in the bad ending verse, E-Rick gets the bad end of the deal. And this song fits with that. Specifically the torturous relationship that he ends up forming with Rick V-79. Also this kind of goes for the original verse, because this part has been altered due to plotting~

'If you sell, they'll buy,' 'Don't feel, just sign,' 'If you sell, they'll buy,' 'Don't think, stay blind.'

One of the things about E-Rick is that he's loyal no matter what. He wouldn't listen to anyone other than the president. Which, in this case, ended up getting him into trouble. It was Evil Morty who heard about the idea and enticed E-Rick into agreeing.

'Just sign on the dotted line,' 'Give me the control, he whispered softly,' 'You're crawling inside my mind,' 'Don't you fight me.'

And what happened, well, Rick V-79 inserted a chip into E-Rick's mind. Allowing him to give up control, being puppeteered around in order for Rick V-79 and Evil Morty to have more control over the situation. Basically getting rid of any voice of reasoning.

Simon sat away from the rest of the group, awake under the guise of ‘keeping watch’. Knees pulled to his chest, he stared out across the pit that divided the car in half. It wasn’t quite full yet, and the progress was painfully slow.

He’d fought with Grace twice in the span of a few hours, and it weighed on him heavily. The longer it went on, the more he desperately needed to return to some form of normalcy. And he knew that wouldn’t happen until they were back with the Apex.

There was a part of him that was growing more and more tempted to go on his own. He still had a working harpoon pack, and was relatively confident he could get safely across the pit.

The notion of leaving Grace felt a little wrong, but... she would catch up. And maybe her rush to find him would force her to stop being so indecisive.

Standing from where he was seated, he took a glance over his shoulder.

Only to notice that Hazel was looking at him.

He jolted in surprise, eyes widening for a split second- before he slowly sat back down, turning to face her this time.

“Time After Time” & TRN-660’s Canon Event

The diagram above was created by a writer and producer of ATSV and it demonstrates how canon events in the Spider-verse works. One specific part of the diagram to pay attention towards are its nodes showcasing a canon event that are based on actual storylines from the Amazing Spider-Man (ASM) comics. One of the examples shown above is the node presenting ASM-90 (ASM Issue #90), the issue where a police captain, ASM’s case being George Stacy, dies. If all these canon events were to be based on actual comics from ASM then what issue could ASM-5-36 (the node that was once attached to Gabriella’s universe) be referring to?

It’s possible that ASM-5-36 is referring to ASM Volume 5 Issue #36 titled “Time After Time,” which coincidentally enough has Miguel making an appearance. The comic itself focuses on Peter trying to stop Doctor Doom with him getting help from LYLA. Simultaneously, this is also the comic where Miguel goes to an island in the present day and reunites with Tempest and their son, Gabriel, which provides closure for their story from the 2014 comics. With this comic in mind, this could mean that the canon event ASM-5-36 is referring to is Miguel settling down and having a family.

Granted, there are still plenty of differences between what happens in the comic versus what is shown of the alternate dimension in the movie. For example, ATSV shows alt Miguel having a daughter, living in Nueva York in the year 2099 considering his streamlined fashion and futuristic city background, and that he likely isn’t Spider-Man and/or doesn’t have Spider powers since he’s never been shown to wear the sm2099 suit and his eyes are brown (thus lacking the red eyes Miguel-928 gained when he first got his powers), along with the identity of Gabriella’s mother being ambiguous. Nonetheless, the canon event of Miguel having a family is likely based on ASM v5 issue #36 and is one of the defining events of Gabriella’s universe.

The anger didn't go unnoticed. Morty was well aware that she didn't like Rick C-151. However, he didn't take her feelings into consideration. What he did for his job had nothing to do with her. And this was one those things he didn't need her approval for.

"I'm very serious, Meg," He brought his attention onto her. Setting down his pencil. Both hands clasped together on the desk. "I don't expect you to accept anything. This has nothing to do with you,"

He rose from his chair. Standing over by the large windows of his office. His back turned towards her. As he placed his hands behind his back, he began to talk.

"I have my plans and my Rick has convinced me that he could help me with them," He could see it now. Destruction, chaos. Everything he wanted to exact his revenge. "If you don't want any part of it,"

He looked over his shoulder at her. "Then I'll give you an out, but you will not criticize me for my decisions."

Different anon here, and not to keep talking about BS lol but over the years and seeing lots of Feelings about them, they way I’ve come to see the purpose of Sun in Blake’s story is that he was a Safe Crush.

You are Blake, recently leaving your mentor partner unhealthy relationship of four to five years. Assuming she had run around the forest during their initiation she didn’t find anyone she wanted to partner with until she saw Yang fighting. And as they grow closer, well, ID be pretty scared if I found myself developing feelings for ANOTHER partner after the last one turned out the way it did. They are different ppl yes but the brain will make connections out of anything. Last partner bad, in order to keep new partner as a normal person in my life I must stay just friends.

In comes Sun, who is a Faunus like Adam with physical features he can’t easily hide (the horns and then the tail) who is so unserious and goofy. Blake is stronger now and that’s not to say ppl who act kind also can’t manipulate you, but Sun was so shallow and surface level that he was an open book. He thought she was cute and knew she was a Faunus and that’s why he was drawn to her. Not bc she was the WF leaders daughter or bc of her semblance or use to him. Just a cute girl.

And I think she needed that. She needed normal teenage crush feelings. A goofy guy who asks her to the dance and winks at her after winning a match. Something simple and something safe.

Adam Yang and Sun do not have A Lot in common, but you can make connections that have enough similarities that show why Blake was drawn to them, why she would be nervous about them, and ultimately who her feelings ran deeper for. Because while she was having normal crush feelings for Sun, Yang as her friend and partner was getting to the root of things. Burning the Candle is iconic bc Yang opens up to Blake, compares their situations with versing about a certain thing without making it all about her or dismissing Blake’s concerns. She wants her to rest, not give up.

Where Sun, in a situation that on the surface is similar, misses the mark is bc he doesn’t give Blake space. He assumes she’s going to stop the WF and comes along in secret to help her. While his intentions are good he doesn’t understand Blake and didn’t ask her. He’s a good friend but he’s messy with it. He’s still seeing things in a shallow way. And while I do think he shows greater depth after his injury when he compares his situation to Yang’s, his purpose is to be the stand-in.

When Yang got hurt Blake left to keep her safe. She can’t run away from Sun. I know a lot of ppl don’t like him or his presence in the arc and that’s totally valid. He oversteps a lot. But for his purpose of being the Friend who wants to help who will stick up for her even if they get hurt, bc the point is to fight together, I enjoy him there for that. Some say she didn’t need him there to learn that but I think with Ilia’s arc being white gang centric and not “friend / love interest I’m afraid of hurting” focused, she would’ve needed something else to show HER that not only was she worth staying for, but getting hurt by standing beside her wasn’t a punishment.

And then we have volume 6, where Sun says his goodbyes and removes himself from Blake’s story for now. The safe crush saw the writing on the wall and even in V5 he was like “LOOK WHOS HERE”. Sun in canon has no claim over Blake and he never thought he did. He liked her yes, but at the end of the day he saw that her feelings were for Yang and he was more than fine with it.

Sun was a safe counterpart to Adam and training wheels for the V6 fight with Yang Blake and Adam. His purpose is to be the literal blueprint for “Your friends and loved ones fight with you, and would rather be hurt helping you than protected by you leaving. Which hurts much more”.

That is how I view the BS elements in the show, a crush that helps Blake get more comfortable until she stands on her own and makes that deliberate choice with Yang in V6 to face Adam head on. Just like in real life other ppl and our relationships with them shape us and help us learn about ourselves and grow. Sun was a growing element for her, not her permanent destination, which is why I enjoy their relationship and hate so much his mischaracterization as someone owed love. SUN does think he’s owed anything so why do other ppl place that on him. He knows his role in Blake’s life and he’s happy about it

That's honestly a nice way of looking at it all.

My general attitude toward him to the contrary, I don't hate Sun, he was there as a friend when Blake needed him and knew that it wasn't gonna work out between them romantically and backed the fuck off which was the right thing to do.

Why be born again Part 3

The dialogue between Jesus and Nicodemus continues: John 3:5-17

John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

v5 This is not about baptism. The Greek word for both spirit and wind is the same word (pneuma). As a Pharisee, Nicodemus’ mind would begin to turn towards Exodus 14:21 (the Exodus) when the strong wind dried up the red sea and made a path to allow the children of Israel to walk into the promised land. God had to do a miracle with the wind and the water.

Israel in a sense, was reborn at this moment. Nicodemus was beginning to understand the direction of Jesus as he spoke about the wind and the water.

Born of water and the spirit.

Water has 3 main pictures in the bible:

1.the Gospel-see Isaiah 55

2. Word of God Eph 5:26

3. Holy Spirit John 7:37-39

In v5 its meaning is the water as the word of God.

v6 Our bodies are not suitable for heaven- we will receive a spiritual (resurrection) body in heaven. Theology is flesh, Truth is spirit.

v.7-8 Nicodemus is shocked! Jesus uses the illustration of the wind. No person knows where it begins or ends but we can clearly see and/or hear its effects, but we know it is real.

The new birth is as real as the wind! The effects are felt internally.

9 Nicodemus answered and said to Him, “How can these things be?”

10 Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

v9 Nicodemus is shocked and cannot grasp what Jesus is telling him.

v10 Jesus suggests to Nicodemus that as the top religious person in Israel he ought to have deduced these things from the scripture.

v11 When Jesus says ‘we’ here he means himself and the Holy Spirit are witnessing to Nicodemus, but he still does not get it.

v12 Jesus says that if Nicodemus cannot receive earthly truth in his soul, then how much less can he receive heavenly truth in his spirit.

v13 Jesus prophesies that he will shortly ascend to heaven after his resurrection.

Jesus now continues talking to Nicodemus right though v14-21.

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

v14-17 Jesus now preaches his wonderful Gospel message. Although most Christians know the verse John 3:16, few realise it was part of Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus.

In Part 4 we will discuss whether or not Nicodemus became a believer in Jesus Christ and also learn how we can bring the message of the new birth to the unbelievers we meet in life.
