I think a lot of people mistake autobiography as absolute fact and that's not what an autobiography is necessarily. Should it have fact? Yes. But an autobiography is going to be skewed and misconstrued because it's a single person's view on themself, others, and the world they perceive.

No one is ever going to be so objective that they can truly look at themselves and their past and their memories and get it completely correct. The whole point of autobiogrophy is that it's their point of view.

If you want something factual with more absolution than look for biographies. A person's life written by someone else.

If you truly want to get into the head space and pov of a specific individual, then read their autobiography written by themselves.

figured out I don't like seeing people on book covers majority of the time. photo covers are a complete no altogether. my favorite are either a drawn picture of the environment if it's a fantasy/sci-fi, symbols related to the contents of the book, or abstract design that is just pure vibes

Similar to how I lost points on an english paper for using the word "scry". (Scry is when you ponder the wizard orb of divination.) I was praised for using the word Gehenna(another word for hell, like perdition it came from an animated show. Unlike perdition, it came from Blue Exorcist). My English teacher docked points for a four letter word she didn't know. Still miffed about it.

There are so many test questions I've been failed for without being technically wrong and while most have been lost to time I can clearly remember at least two and yes. I *am* still angry

There are two main ones.

A Gay AF Fantasy Sci-fi series.

Tiny, Sparkly, Bisexual, Princess, and her Beefy, Broody, Lesbian, Bodyguard, slash, best friend since infancy that she's KIND OF fallen out with thanks to evil sorcery b.s., hi-jack a busted up spaceship and escape their EXTREMELY out of date planet to go on a quest across the solar system with a found family so that they can stop the Princess's Uncle from destroying their solar system's source of magic and enslaving everyone for profit. They also bone a lot.

And a Gay AF Mystery Horror Thriller novel. A sparkly lesbian college student that has the sixth sense but isn't aware of it because a demon tried to kill her when she was five and her parents got that shit locked up in her brain tight, shares a dorm room with a manic-depressive lesbian who is being actively haunted due to a family curse, and she is the last one left. They also bone a lot.

the state of american bookstores is depressing as fuck. Even the libraries can be mid as fuck here but they still usually put the bookstores to shame. I feel like every book in a bookstore is just an advertisement for an influencer-turned-author or some shitty auto-biography a retired politician threw together to bring in retirement money, and the only alternatives to any of that are mostly nonsense escapist fiction. I don't want the obama books. I don't want the kamala harris book. I don't want the latest fantasy graphic novel. I don't want whatever weak critique of "trumpism" book MSNBC is advertising. I want obscure political analyses from disgraced bedrotters, poetry books that didn't sell well, the catalogues of undiscovered photographers, I want survival/disaster guides, native herbology informational texts, history books BY REAL HISTORIANS, I want the textual chronicles of obscure events around the world. "NYT best-selling author" i just threw up in my mouth!
