This is probably going to be long lol so sorry You outdid yourself with the beetlejuice story! I am the anon who requested it and I am absolutely blown away. Everything about it was just pure perfection (including the way you described the musical compared to the movie and your disclaimer for beetlejuice and Lydia shippers) and I laughed out loud so many times. The vibe was exactly like the musical and it was just perfect. The characters were written so perfectly and so much like how they are in the musical. I loved the little Easter eggs like the spin your own yarn kit and the kombucha. Also, a coin collection is such an Adam thing to have. I love how you wrote Adam and Barbara’s relationship and how you wrote them as characters. The way you wrote Barbara was so flustering and wonderful and I am here for it. It was so cute and so accurate. Also beetlejuice eating the game pieces made cry from laughter it’s such a BJ thing to do. The back and forth between BJ and Lydia was just perfection especially how lydia described the maitlands 😭 and her saying she will bring bj back to life just to kill him. AND YES BEETLEJUICE!! I'm so grateful to have seen the show live a few times because like. alex brightman (who played beetlejuice) always did and improvised the smallest but most random things and his mannerisms really stuck with me. There was a night where both he and Adam's actor (i believe he was a swing? or the adam after the original) kept messing with each other and they both broke character during 'fright of their lives' giggling like children and i was like yes. this is the vibe i need. BJ's the living embodiment of 'never let em know your next move'. He's super super fun to write. my beloved wretched little goblin <3

BJ and Lydia's friendship is truly so special to me they're just both so weird. It's one of the main reasons that I love the musical so much--you know where the show is going if you've seen the movie but you really feel like BJ and Lydia could be friends. It's sweet. She's got ghosts in her attic and they care about her, what more could she need?

Also LMAO I'm glad you thought the disclaimer was funny. I made myself laugh writing it. I've unfortunately always gotta put disclaimers on certain things I write but I figured lets at least have some fun with it hehe

Thaumo has mimicked the mc once. Shortly after losing contact with mc as kids, Thaumo was really suffering from separation anxiety and tried to mimic mc to see them in his mirror. At this point his mimic ability wasn’t perfect. Seeing a slightly-off version of mc in the mirror that isn’t real & he can’t actually hug or talk to made him break down sobbing. He ended up sitting on his bathroom floor crying for 4 hours and never mimicked mc in that way again.

RESOURCES FOR ARTISTS VOL 1

In the spirit of gratitude for the plethora of free resources out there for artists that I've been gleefully ransacking my entire life, I want to share some of them that I've compiled.

smithsonian open access: this is a HUGE one! lots of images that are absolutely free to use, as well as an incredible set of 3-D resources. Their collection spans the same breadth that their multiple museums do-- natural history, gems, fine art, aerospace/engineering stuff, etc. so do not sleep on this.

2. The League of Moveable Type is a resource for free fonts, but not just any free fonts-- professionally designed free fonts. Some of the bigger sites can be a lot of wading through sub par stuff, but every single thing here was very carefully and lovingly designed, and is free.

3. Unsplash is full of great free to use images. Seriously, huge collection. Portraits, textures, 3-D renderings, you name it and it's probably here and free to use. ALSO cool because images will note whether their creator is for hire if you like their work. You can also submit your images to this platform. (I think it has a premium section but I haven't needed to engage with it yet)

4. rawpixel's Public Domain collection. They've been high quality scanning public domain images for a while. They're free to use under a CC0 license, which is basically without restriction. They've got lots of categories, I personally love the Graphic Design and the Vintage Illustration sections.

5. Photopea is a free Photoshop alternative that runs in your browser. It's got a few quirks(especially if you run a non-chromium browser, but stay strong anyway) and is ad-supported, but really powerful and robust. It also opens PSD files, supports smart objects and basically all of the Photoshop asset filetypes(.abr .grad .pat etc), as well as has filters, even a couple that Photoshop itself has gotten rid of in their more recent versions. You can use the fonts on your machine, export transparent pngs, and do generally anything that the big guy does. You can also donate a small amount to remove ads and support the singe person(!) who created and maintains it.

6. Brusheezy.com is a great place to get free brushes, vectors, and photoshop assets in general(which can all be used in Photopea, btw).

7. dafont.com Last but not least, I will include this huge font site but assume most people already have it on their radar. Free fonts! No account needed to download! Tons of categories! Many are demo/limited versions, so pay attention especially if you plan to use numbers or special characters as those are often the things left out of the free to use demo versions. It's nice to have a lot of options but to the discerning eye a decent amount of the fully free fonts here will fall a bit short/feel unpolished. That's not to discourage you from it, as I have a huge collection of types from here and routinely check it when I need something specific.

Hey there! Been following you for a bit. I was actually just wondering, who's your favorite kirby character? I assume it's Magolor because of all the art of him, but I'm still curious to know!

Hi there :D Thank you for following me ^^

To answer your question, as you guessed it yourself, of course Magolor is my favorite Kirby character, but for a long time, he wasn't!!

To go more into details, my first Kirby game was Super Star Ultra, and ever since I played it, Marx was my first and only favorite character for a whiiiileee~. I eventually put Kirby aside while growing up, up until Smash Ultimate came out and it piqued my curiosity. Of course you can imagine how delighted I was when I discovered while playing the Adventure Mode that Marx was in the game as a boss!! I played Kirby's Classic Mode for hours just to see my favorite jester ^^ So it's during that year of end of 2018/2019 that I my interest for Kirby came back, I mostly played the NSO original Super Star game just for Milky Way Wishes, but also Star Allies demo and a lot of Super Kirby Clash. And who appears as a shopkeeper in this game?? Right! Magolor! But I had no idea who he was at the time, so my first impression of him was just of a microtransaction shopkeeper lmao. Now comes the year of 2020. I was a little bit more acquainted with the world of Kirby but also not as much lol And what did I found on the day of my birthday this year?? Kirby Star Allies at 50% off in my local tunisian game store lmao So ofc I immediately bought the game and finished it really quickly :/ Well tbh I was even more confused after playing the full version, and I made the mistake of watching Kirby animations on YouTube which made everything worse!! I was completely lost about Magolor's character at this point! Then at the end of 2020, a french Youtuber that I know specialized on making video games theory videos, started a series of analyzing Kirby lore AND THAT WAS IT FOR ME!! I had no clue how complex Kirby lore was and decided to put his videos on hold and actually play all of the main Kirby games! I was especially hooked on the ancients lore, so which game first talked about them? That's right baby it’s Kirby's Return to Dreamland :DDD Anddd you could say the rest is history :) But yeah starting from this game I felt in love with Magolor and he quickly became my number one fav Kirby character ^^

I'm sure you probably answered this once already, but on the months I have followed your blog I never saw it, or I was just very bad at finding it (Tumblr search system not helping, as usual).

But what inspired you to write about a cult? Do you have any in real inspirations for the cult? And is it because of those inspirations you decided to go with birds (as maybe some cults also associate themselves with a particular thing), or that came from another place?

Also, it may be my lack of comprehension, but I'm not clear about what faith/religion is the cult associated. Because it does have some Christianity vibes: the cult functions similarly to a monastery in many ways; the themes of blood, while obviously coming from the vampire side of the plot, is also central to Christianity (at least when it comes to rituals); and, finally, the cult also puts a lot of importance on modesty and restrain of one's desires (which is very catholic). Yet, at the same time, there isn't any discussion about Jesus, the Virgin Mary, or any of those important figures.

Basically, I'm unsure about what they, at least officially, believe in terms of faith and doctrine.

I would understand is a religion that has nothing to do with the real world. Because it seems to be the case. I just wanted to make sure.

I probably sound very ignorant or non perceptive. So I understand if you prefer not to answer this. I understand it could be a bothersome kind of ask to answer, so don't feel forced to do it.

Funnily enough no one has ever asked about that!

Now the whole reason as to why I write about a cult, this whole thing has been inspired by the long dead WIP Terror in Baskerville Academy, and aesthetic inspired by my fav book which leans heavy on birds in an aesthetic and "title" way. Plus it just fits perfectly.

In the old demo there is a small part that explains the faith a bit more, but I dont blame anyone who doesn't remember that.

They are officially classified as a radical branch of christian catholic, however they believe that God is dead.

And that the dinosaurs died when God died (yeah they believe in the evolution and vaccines), everything else died... except for a few Angels who cut up God in parts and each planet in the solar system is a prison for a different part of God. (Yes, there are jokes like "I swear this on Gods right asscheek.") And they almost managed to destroy themselves when Pluto was discovered.

The Angels keep watch but they need the prayer and faith of the Divine Flock to keep God from assembling back, destroying everything should this happen. Which is why they pray to Angels and drowning is a direct ticket into Gods Heart, their version of hell.

And what does our good old Earth hold? Gods Heart and His blood, driven to beat by emotions. Which causes earthquakes. Or worse.

Thats where the restrain of one's desires and modesty comes into play.

As to where are Mary and Jesus etc: they don't believe in them. They don't believe in any Saints, except their own. Which are... not many, they are not that old.

Now that is of course what the Divine Flock teaches...
