15 Lines of Dialogue
Rules: Share 15 or fewer lines of dialogue from an OC, ideally lines that capture their character/personality/vibe. Bonus points for just using the dialogue without other details about the scene, but you’re free to include those as well.
Thank you for the tag @cherrypikkins! This was fun to put together for Nico ^_^
"I mean, it's not like people grow up actively wanting to be bandits, right? Shit happens, and then your options start shrinking. So I like to offer a hand to get people back on their feet, when I can." .
“You asked for blue gems, I bought you blue gems–” “You bought me turquoise gems” “Which were blue! Holst agreed with me that they were blue!” .
"Can we not just put this down as self inflicted idiocy? No? Fine. But you won't like the actual answer." .
"Jeralt, dearest uncle of mine, how the flying fuck did you expect me to know that all the big things that threw shit at me and Kilani had different names when you called all of them ballista?!?" .
"Yeah, no, hold that thought. I'm going to need you to explain to me what exactly it is about you nobles that makes you so much better than the rest of us." .
"You cut that crap out right now or I swear, by all who listen, I'll bury your underthings in an anthill and fill your pillow with frogspawn! Frogspawn, and, and pond scum! And seaweed!!!" .
"So... Would you rather fight one wyvern sized duck or ten duck sized wyverns?" .
"Shez, sweetheart, darling, light of my life and star who guides me home. Are you saying that you apologised for saying that my chest is, and I quote, ‘flatter than a pancake with raisins baked into it’, at some point during the week I lost to the concussion from you getting me thrown through two fucking trees by the pack of giant wolves you pissed off?!?" .
"My patience has limits and you are getting awfully close to finding them, and I assure you you will not like what you find if you do" .
"I would say you should start praying to your precious goddess, but it really won't help you at this point." .
"Have you ever thought about how anything a healer can fix with magic they could also cause? If they can strengthen a bone, they can also weaken it. Calm a stomach, or upset it. Stop or start headaches. Numb your senses to the pain or make the air itself feel like fire. Of course, most healers wouldn't dream of doing any of that... but I'm not most healers, now am I?" .
"What flowers would I need to put in a bouquet to tell someone to go fuck themself with a pinecone?" .
"Are you asking me to come work for you because you want me around because I'm me, or because you want to keep the stupidly powerful mage who knows your secrets within your reach and control?" .
"Thank you, for. For everything. I'm glad I got to meet you" .
So today I learned that when I miss shift+enter to make a line and instead get ctrl+enter it posts the post before I'm finished. Or maybe it just doesn't like me pressing it while in list mode. Who knows?
But I'm no pressure tagging @wherefore-whinnies, @nerdnag, and @wild-moss-art to talk about their oc's if they want to? And anyone else who sees this and wants to do this for their own oc's!

i can't help but feel like ive been ruined. i spent so many nights begging someone i was in love with to not kill themself, to not abandon me, to please please love me back. i was forced to swallow my religious trauma because any way i processed it was Wrong and if i prayed more, if i shut up about saints, if i believed harder that god was truly good i could help the person i was obsessed with. i stopped watching or reading things i liked because one time the person made a joke making fun of a piece of media that's known to be bad and if you do that that's the same as endorsing what that piece of media is about and that would take this person away from me.
i helped make a server with someone after we left a larger one. we brought people we knew in. i invited a few people from a dead one i was in for the same piece of media. it would be nice, i thought, if we could all hang out and post art and have fun in a smaller, safer space. i liked a character that was very unpopular in the fanbase. the movie for this piece of media came out recently. there was a really awful joke made about this character in it. it made me feel gross and it felt like something that character wouldn't say or do. it was a gag comedy piece, and i've been into comic books before. i was used to being able to go "hm, that's uncool. i don't like how the character was written in this, and i don't think it's really indicative or how the character is." this apparently isn't normal and i, a csa victim who was just barely piecing together my abuse, was made to feel like i was evil and a supporter of the very thing i was so hurt by. tone indicators blew up around the time this server was active. i had a very hard time with them, and i have a history of being talked down to and infantilized. i asked people not to use them with me, and explicitly said why. i got off work that night and got a dm from someone i considered a friend at the time telling me how shitty and ableist i am for feeling that way. that if i feel like im being infantilized, then it means i think anyone who needs them is a fucking idiot. i never said that at all. when i got upset over how i was being talked to i got told that see? this is why someone like YOU needs them? because im actually stupid and need to have my hand held and told how stupid i am. anything i did from this point was obviously malicious. if i liked anything i was stupid. if i posted that character i was still so attached to i was into pedophilia. that person i was so obsessed with was in here for a while and after they cut me off completely i wanted to wipe the server. it was pretty dead anyway. i wanted it done quietly. one of my supposed friends was besties with that person in here who loved to accuse me of horrible things. they told them and they drove me out because if i deleted a server they posted in once a month that was bad and wrong and who cares about anything involving me. so i left.
i was invited into a server by someone i was mutuals with. it was nice. people in there were friendly and some were actually excited to see me. the owner was someone who very much did have issues, but we all did. occasionally id say things without thinking and get nipped. oh my bad haha! ill try harder. and i did. there were five vent channels and one was angry and involving things that upset us morally. i got really ovsessed with looking at accounts that posted things, triggering myself over and over. this was normal and good, the server owner believed. this person accused people of pedophilia on a fandom poll for voting on a character they liked and not this person's personal choice. my one irl friend's mom died when i was at work. on my break, i posted about it in shock, asking for support. when i got off work, i was being accused of making the server owner attempt suicide. when i floated the idea of commissions before moving, the server owner accused me of stealing customers from them. they had closed theirs earlier that day, after all. i couldnt post about anything if they had mentioned it to me. that was theft and i needed to credit them for everything. when i got into ghost, i said i liked how people would sexualize the papas. it was good, i thought, that older characters were being seen as attractive. the sevrer owner accused me of incest then, because my character i had made for ghost was related to these characters. i felt weird and gross talking about it with them around after that. i was told that at one point when i offhandedly mentiomed having a crush on someone, the server owner was convinced i meant them. in the end, the server owner cut the entire group off, and it turned out he was abusive to a lot of us. but people mentioned i seemed to get a very large chunk of it.
in tthe leadup to the ghost movie, i was so, so scared. i didn't know why. some horrible, evil part of my brain was telling me it was going to turn out copia was a pedophile. that was insane. that wouldn't happen, that's disgusting and evil and completely against what ghost is. but it had happened before with a character i liked. and what was one more comfort stolen away from me, an ontologically evil person. it didn't happen. obviously, it didn't and i was relieved. i still feel insane for even thinking it.
im trying to do better these days. i dont go out of my way to look at things that will trigger me if i can help it. im supposed to get into therapy more regularly now that ive moved again. most people i talk to now are supportive of me, understand that im kind of a freak and someone who has some very abnormal beliefs— and that its okay for me to have them. im not hurting people by worshipping lucifer. im not bad and wrong for being interested in saints and rituals. i know people that have had fears like mine because of similar events. im writing more than i used to, im talking about weirder ideas more. there is still fear, and there will be until i can have a decent way to work on it.
i really feel like a lot of this didn't need to happen in the first place, though. most things probably dont need to happen. they just do and im a very fundamentally messed up person for it now. oh well i guess. eventually ill stop crying before sleeping and immediately upon waking up.

The True Eternal Age.
– Chapter II: Family Matters.
— Chapter I can be found here.
The streets of Leyndell were rather quiet at this time of evening; yet still the Tarnished felt as though attack may come at any time, couldn't let themself feel at ease even with the king at their side.
But they understood that, of course. It made sense that they wouldn't feel entirely comfortable in a city that had shown them such hostility so far, in enclosed spaces full of soldiers who'd tried to take their life...
What they couldn't work out, though, was why Morgott looked so ill at ease.
He'd looked tense from the moment they'd set foot back in the streets; his gaze darting about here and there at anyone who would come even remotely close, his steps taking him swiftly through the city without a second glance spared for the scenery.
They just couldn't quite understand it. This was his city... Shouldn't a ruler feel more confident in their own land than anywhere else?
"There is no time to waste," he'd sighed upon being met with their questioning look, "so why should I not hurry?"
The Tarnished did not look satisfied with that answer; they could tell there was more to it than that, and they had no intentions of going along with his attempts to deny it.
This time, his gaze averted, and he breathed a huff down his nose. "...Thou shalt understand 'pon our arrival," he murmured, a bitter note to his tone. "Just be patient. Oh... and should it be necessary to converse while we are outside... I would ask that thee call me Margit."
------
"'Tis not as far as it looks," the king's rather impatient voice called from the darkness below. "Really, thou art in no danger."
The Tarnished was not entirely convinced. Just because he could handle massive leaps didn't mean they could! They couldn't fall as far as twenty feet without breaking their neck and sending themself to yet another death!
"Oh, come now... What manner of Elden Lord would be so weak of heart as to refuse to enter a sewer?"
Their lips tightened at his evident lack of faith in them, and they drew a deep breath, setting aside their anger to peer into the hole and weigh up their options. By the looks of it, there were bits of rubble here and there that they could land on to make the descent a bit easier... and they could make out Morgott's tangle of horns even from where they stood; it really wasn't that big a drop, not compared to some falls they'd taken on their journey so far.
In they went, jumping down into the sewer's entrance and landing upon a protrusion of broken stone; then down onto another, and another, until their feet finally landed in the murky waters at the very depths.
"Well done." Morgott's congratulations didn't sound entirely congratulatory, though he did at least offer them a hearty pat on the shoulder as he strode past them.
"Come. This way."
------
The welcoming glow of grace was a wonderful departure from this damned sewer. It was a mess of pathways and tunnels and pipes; they imagined it would've taken them hours to get through this place alone...
...But Morgott seemed to know this area well. Very much so, in fact. From the moment they'd set off, he'd led the way, only breaking his pace to effortlessly fight off the denizens of the sewers that tried to do battle with them; only stopping to impale the imps and the disembodied hands upon his spear, to back up the Tarnished when trouble came their way.
"The other Omens?" His eye had widened after they'd questioned him about the beings that roamed these tunnels; about how merciless he seemed when they approached. "...My thoughts on them are of no consequence," he'd sighed, eye narrowing as he turned his head, staring ahead at the golden guidance before them. "I mean this with no unkindness, Tarnished: thou wouldst do well to focus only upon that which concerns thee."
Their brow furrowed lightly as Morgott's tail flicked against the ground, in what almost looked like... agitation.
"Some things art... truly best left forgotten."
------
The Tarnished felt their mind boggle at the sheer scale of this place, these 'Shunning-Grounds,' as Morgott had called them. To think all this was under Leyndell... all these areas, all this space...
...All these unfortunate creatures, seemingly locked away from the world.
They had so many questions, yet they were receiving few answers; Morgott - stone-faced even when faced by this dark and disturbing place, even when his cloak was becoming increasingly wet with filthy water and the blood of those who insisted on attacking them - would offer little more than scoffs and reassurances that whatever was happening here, it was something that the Tarnished did not need to trouble themself with.
"Our business here is almost at an end, in any case." The Omen's golden eye narrowed, his attentions fixed on a doorway further down, where the area seemed to open up at last.
Once again, the Tarnished could not help but ask, even as they expected nothing in return: they couldn't help but ask exactly what it was that they were here to do.
"...'Tis a family matter," Morgott relented, his voice softening for but a moment, faltering even. "Nothing for thee to worry thineself about."
------
Their next rest at grace was not a restful one: for a start, they were the only one resting. Morgott merely shook his head when the Tarnished had asked if he'd like to sit with them; remained on his feet, pacing a slow trail back and forth and keeping his gaze fixed on the doorway now dead ahead of them.
It was a risk to ask for more. They knew it. Everything about this was a gamble, and the Tarnished was well aware that there was still a chance for them to lose...
...But curiosity, and confusion, and an earnest desire for this agreement of theirs to go smoothly won out in the end, and before they could stop it, the words had left their lips:
"You'll have to explain this to me someday, you know. If we're going to work together... to be together, in whatever way... then we're going to have to talk."
They swallowed to wet their suddenly dry throat.
"...If this is a 'family matter,' then it does concern me, because we'll be family soon."
Morgott's steps came to a halt; and for a moment, they were worried that they'd gone too far, that they'd ended their plan for both parties to win before it had even truly begun.
"...Thou'rt correct."
The words came after a pause; surprised, but genuine. Turning their attention from the grace, the Tarnished gazed up at the king, who was looking down at them with a slightly wide-eyed gaze.
...In that moment, the realisation of the weight of their arrangement - the true meaning of it - seemed to have come down upon them both all at once.
Morgott was the one to break their eyes contact, breathing a deep sigh, arms folding tight to his chest.
"Once we have done what we must here... I will tell thee all thee would wish to know. I give thee my word."
Finally, some progress! The Tarnished gave a nod, a smile of satisfaction catching their lips for a brief moment as they stood from the safety of the grace...
...before it was gone once more as their gaze went once more towards that door: towards whatever lay beyond, towards whatever 'family matters' Morgott had brought them here to attend to.

So I had piece commissioned of my MC, Hoshiko Higure, presenting as both female and male.
The artist is karoshin_arts on Instagram.
Tumblr media
And to go along with the art is a little fic I wrote, mostly, about Hoshiko coming out to the boys.
This fic takes place after Belphie gets out of the attic and before the MC goes home for the first time.
Hoshiko's Coming Out
Hoshiko stood in front of their full length mirror in their bedroom, staring at their reflection.
They were dressed for school but instead of wearing the skirt, they had decided to wear uniform pants today. They were also wearing a binder underneath their dress shirt, effectively hiding their breasts. They tied the top half of their hair back before putting on their circle rim glasses.
They stared at themselves in the mirror once they were totally ready.
"Okay... you look good. You can do this. Everything is gonna be fine," they told themself, trying to psych themself up.
They nodded at themself in the mirror before walking out into the hallway.
Mammon was headed to Hoshiko's room as they were walking out.
"Hey Ho... shi..." Mammon stopped mid step and mid sentence and just stared at Hoshiko. He narrowed his eyes at them, seeming suspicious.
Hoshiko turned a bright red. "It's me! I swear! I'm just... wearing pants..."
"You're doing more than that..." Mammon told them as he finished walking over to them.
"Yeah, I just... sometimes I..." They couldn't look at Mammon. "I don't feel like a girl all the time... sometimes I feel like a boy..." They wrapped their arms around themselves.
"So what, you just wanna wear pants and not have boobs sometimes?"
They looked up at Mammon. "I mean, in not so many words, yeah."
Mammon pouted and crossed his arms over his chest. "Why didn't you tell me?"
Hoshiko sighed and looked down at the ground. "You don't wanna be my friend anymore, do you?"
"What? Quit your mopin'! I didn't say that!"
Hoshiko looked back up at him.
"I'm your first! You're s'posed to tell me everything, no secrets between us, remember?!" Mammon perched his hands on his hips.
Hoshiko teared up. "Oh, Mammon!" They threw their arms around him and cried into his chest.
"Hey! Don't do that..." he blushed and pushed them away gently. "You'll break your glasses." He offered them a handkerchief from his breast pocket.
Hoshiko nodded and took the handkerchief with a soft sniffle. They took off their glasses and wiped their eyes.
"C'mon, you gotta eat some breakfast before school."
They nodded and headed to the dining room with Mammon. "... Will you stay with me all day?"
Mammon looked at them. "Huh?"
"I... I'm actually afraid of being by myself, looking like this..."
"Oh... yeah, of course. You gotta know the Great Mammon will always protect ya!" He flashed them a brilliant smile.
Hoshiko smiled at him. "Thank you." They grabbed Mammon's hand.
Mammon blushed but squeezed their hand in return.
Everyone looked at them when they entered the dining hall.
"Hey! So today Hoshiko feels like a guy and we're gonna make her feel- well, him-"
Hoshiko nudged him.
He stopped talking and looked at Hoshiko.
"You can just use they/them," Hoshiko told him.
"Right!" He looked back at his brothers. "So we're gonna make them feel comfortable and if ya don't, I'll kill ya," he was actually the most serious Hoshiko had ever seen him.
Hoshiko squeezed his hand. "Calm down, it's not that serious."
He looked back at Hoshiko. "Yes it is. Your feelings are important."
Hoshiko smiled at him. "I appreciate you saying that."
"Mammon is right," Lucifer spoke before dabbing his mouth with a napkin.
Hoshiko and Mammon looked at him.
"Your feelings are important, Hoshiko. If there's anything you need or if anyone gives you any flak, you let me know," only Lucifer could say something so sweet, yet so venom filled.
Hoshiko nodded. "I will, thank you."
Lucifer nodded. "Of course."
"Have you always felt this way?" Satan asked Hoshiko.
Hoshiko looked at him. "Uh... it's hard to say. It's only been in the last like... 3 years that I had the terminology to describe how I feel."
"And what is the correct terminology?" Satan asked as he pulled out his DDD and opened up a note taking app.
"I'm genderfluid. Which means I don't fit into the typical binary model of gender. Even though I am biologically female, I don't always want to present myself as traditionally female."
"Conforming to gender norms when it comes to clothing is so boring," Asmo commented. "You should just do what makes you happy."
Hoshiko smiled at him. "I like that. Thank you."
Asmo smiled brightly at them. "Of course, love!"
"So wait..." Belphie started.
Everyone looked at him.
"This is new to everyone, not just me?"
Beel nodded. "This is the first I've heard of it."
"So, you've felt like this for at least 3 years?" Belphie asked Hoshiko.
Hoshiko blushed and nodded, understanding what Belphie was getting at.
"Why didn't you say something sooner?" Levi asked.
"I didn't feel comfortable showing y'all until now. Even getting ready this morning I was nervous as hell."
Levi only nodded.
"Okay, I think that's enough questions for now," Lucifer interjected. "It's time to get to school."
Hoshiko was actually grateful that Lucifer had stopped them from asking them questions, they could feel themself getting overwhelmed.
Hoshiko smiled slightly at Lucifer before getting up and clearing their plate from the table.
The brothers followed suit, then everyone left for RAD together.
True to his word, Mammon stayed next to Hoshiko all day, though they didn't really need any protecting as they had originally thought.
After school, at the student council meeting, Diavolo asked Hoshiko how their first day presenting as a male was.
"It went well! Most folks were more curious anything. Azazel asked if I actually did have magical abilities because of how I changed my appearance. I thought that was funny. And Solomon offered to teach me how to make potions to deepen my voice for when I want to present as a guy. And Mephistopheles said I was stunning no matter how I presented..."
Most of the brothers rolled their eyes, but Mammon let out a little growl.
Hoshiko smacked his arm. "He was just bein' nice."
"Uh huh..." he crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair.
Diavolo chuckled at their interaction. "Well I'm glad today went so well for you, Hoshiko."
Hoshiko grinned. "I was really surprised, I thought that maybe at least a couple folks would give me hard time, but no one did."
"Demons are not usually so concerned with presentations of gender like that," Barbatos informed them.
"Oh... well I wish I had known that sooner, I wouldn't have been freaking out as much about today."
"That's not true," Barbatos corrected them.
Hoshiko pouted. "I don't like it when you call me out like that."
Barbatos chuckled softly.
Diavolo grinned. "Well I'm glad that our residents didn't take advantage of Hoshiko being a human when they changed their appearance. This is good for the exchange program!"
"I concur," Lucifer interjected.
"Well that concludes today's meeting," Diavolo announced before standing up.
Everyone else stood up with him.
Diavolo left the table before anyone else moved.
Asmo ran over to Hoshiko. "Hoshiko! Do you want to go shopping? We can pick you out some more masculine looking clothes if you want."
Hoshiko grinned. "I'd like that."
"I'm goin' too," Mammon declared.
Asmo pouted. "Why do you have to go?"
"Hoshiko asked me to stay by their side all day, so that's what I'm gonna do!"
Hoshiko chuckled. "That was when I thought I was gonna get made fun of or even beat up. I know I'll be okay now, so you don't have to stay with me."
"Nope. You asked so I'm gonna stay with you all day. The Great Mammon doesn't break a promise."
"What?! Since when?!" Levi interjected. "You still haven't paid me back!"
"Yeah, you obviously just want to be next to Hoshiko," Asmo pointed out.
"What?! That ain't so!" Mammon protested as a blush appeared on his cheeks.
Hoshiko chuckled at them. "Come on, we can all go shopping. It's not that big of a deal."
Asmo sighed. "Alright, as long as you're happy." He smiled slightly.
"We'll all be happy, I'll treat you two to dinner afterwards," Hoshiko promised.
Asmo beamed. "Okay!"
The trio went out to go shopping and went out to dinner before returning home to the House of Lamentation.
Hoshiko walked in sporting a new lavender suit and purple dress shirt.
Asmo insisted on showing them off to everyone in the house.
Hoshiko got a little embarrassed when Asmo dragged them to Lucifer's study. "Asmo, he doesn't care..."
"That's not true! Lucifer!" Asmo called as they walked into the study.
Lucifer looked up at them from where he sat at his desk.
"Look at our handsome little exchange student!" He exclaimed as he spun them around, giving Lucifer the full view.
Hoshiko was blushing.
Lucifer chuckled. "You look nice, Hoshiko. Though it is apparent that Asmo picked out that suit."
"That doesn't sound like a compliment," Asmo said with a pout.
"I just think Hoshiko would look better in something darker."
"There's more colors besides black and red, Lucifer," Asmo informed him.
Hoshiko chuckled at their interaction.
Lucifer glanced at Hoshiko briefly. "Asmo, would you leave us? I'd like to speak to Hoshiko alone for a moment."
"Ooh, okay!" Asmo sang just before leaving the room.
Hoshiko felt their ears get hot. "Uh, am I in trouble?"
"No, not at all. Please, take a seat." He motioned to a chair right in front of his desk.
Hoshiko nodded and sat down, crossing their legs as they did so.
"I just wanted to ask how your day went."
"It went well, you were there in the meeting when I told Lord Diavolo how it went."
"I just wanted to verify that nothing has changed since then. Make sure my brothers haven't harassed you about it."
Hoshiko laughed. "No, it's been fine. I appreciate your concern though."
Lucifer smirked. "How has your stay in Devildom been, thus far?"
"Aside from nearly dying like four times, it's been great!" Hoshiko teased.
Lucifer pursed his lips. "Right..."
"I'm only kidding with you. I've actually had a good time and I've learned a lot... it's kinda sad to think about how I'll be leaving in just a couple months."
Lucifer smiled slightly. "I'm glad you think of it that way."
"It certainly helped that all my housemates were hot too," Hoshiko told him with a wink.
Lucifer couldn't help the blush that rose to his cheeks. "Hoshiko," he chided.
Hoshiko snickered. "I'm just teasing you. That's a good thing. It means I'm comfortable with you now."
Lucifer hummed. "Should you be?"
"Is there a reason I shouldn't be?" Hoshiko asked with a sly smile.
Lucifer stared them down, frustrated at his inability to give them an answer. "... Regardless, we've been happy to host you. I'm glad you were chosen for the program."
Hoshiko rolled their eyes. "Are you going to continue to be this formal until I leave?"
"Perhaps," Lucifer replied simply.
"Uh huh." Hoshiko stood up and straightened their suit jacket. "Well I will be upfront with my feelings and tell you that I like you and all your brothers and I'm really enjoying my time here... I hope we can all still be good friends after I leave."
Lucifer watched them and smiled slightly. "I think my brothers will be lost without you here."
"I think I'll be lost without all their crazy antics keeping me busy," Hoshiko laughed.
Lucifer chuckled.
"Hoshiko!" Asmo squealed as they ran into the room and went to hide behind Hoshiko.
"Speaking of crazy antics," Hoshiko said to Lucifer before looking at Asmo. "What is-?"
Hoshiko jumped at being suddenly sprayed in the back of the head with water. They whipped around to see Mammon standing in the doorway with a water gun.
"Oh you're gonna get it now!" Hoshiko told him with a grin.
"Good luck catching me!" Mammon told them before running away.
Hoshiko quickly ran after him.
Asmo ran after the two, not wanting to miss out on the fun.
Lucifer shook his head with a soft smile on his face. He knew the "crazy antics" would never stop, but he was grateful for a particular human that had caused them to become less deadly.
