I'll be real with you, I think Seth Rollins' little fits are very cute but I do agree that a serious blood feud is not improved by the presence of a funny guy in a cute outfit. Like MJF hanging Punk over the ropes would actually not have been improved by Daniel Garcia in a glitter crop top dancing in the background.

Underneath the bouncing strobe lights, Daniel's skin is lit up violet. It makes her look different, strange and almost not-human. Max wishes he didn't have such a clear line of sight to her, that he couldn't see the way the colour accentuates the curve of her nose, the pull of her throat as she throws her head back to laugh.

Something thrums hot under his skin, too close to surface for him to ignore. He wants to do something totally not-himself, like do a line to take the edge off or punch the guy she has plastered along the back of her. He's grinding his hips against her ass so dramatically, Max thinks he should be embarrassed about it, probably.

He wants to tell her, enough now. She's made her point.

When she makes her way back over to their table ten minutes later, he's relieved. Almost enough to feel foolish for getting so worked up when she's not even his to begin with, but then-

"I'm going to head out, Maxy," she says, easy, and just like that she is collecting the stupid tiny bag she dumped onto his lap with a casual, look after this for me, before making her way into the thrumming crowd. "I've scored."

Max's eyes pivot back to the dancefloor, and the same overly enthusiastic idiot from earlier is stood at the edge of it. Waiting for her.

"I thought-" He says, reaching to catch her wrist- "I thought that tonight, I was going back to your place."

It's what they usually do after one of them podiums, or she is having a bad day or Max just ask and for whatever reason that time she says yes. Today is one of the first kind. Her stood on the third step at Monaco, beaming down at him in the crowd.

She'd kept telling him, just you wait for next year, baby, just you wait over and over on the walk over here. Max only came to this terrible club with terrible overpriced drinks and overloud music, for her, and now she is giving him that look he hates, the one that makes him feel like she is thinking he is eight years old and not eighteen.

"Maxy," she says, too sweet, and even this he hates now when usually he loves it. "Isn't your girlfriend around tonight to keep you company?"

His girlfriend. Of course.

"I-" He starts again, goes to say something stupid like, I don't want her, I want you, like I have already told you, but just like always she doesn't let him.

"Tell her hello from me," she says with a grin edged with something that reminds him of the way she drives, the way they both do. Close to the line. "I'll see you tomorrow."

Her mouth is sticky when she presses it to his cheek, smearing lip gloss across it to his ear where she whispers, "if you still needed it later, you can give me call though. I'll probably be done by then."

Maybe you have already mentioned this before but I only recently got into Infested and I was wondering if the info you sometimes speak of in the asks that is not yet in the comics I could just find by looking through the asks or if you have some sort of public masterdoc type of stuff? Sorry if this is annoying but I've been really interested but at times feel just a little lost!! Besides that I love your story and style so much I can't stop thinking abt it

I'll answer whatever I can without outright spoiling anything, but trust me: these asks aren't necessary for understanding what happens in the comic! The only thing that matters, really, is what is presented in the text, itself.
