im gonna do it im gonna get obsessed with the ocean and all its little creatures
#ive been wanting to for a While#like a couple years at this point#solely because i wanna write a story about a bunch of people who hate each other who get forced to live on a submarine#and then they meet mermaids#but i don't have the proper Background Knowledge and I Need background knowledge or i just won't write#that's my current excuse#i was planning on getting scuba certified and just using whatever i learned there#but i severely underestimated my unwillingness to go into the water#i just think its such a fun comedic premise#comedy or horror im still deciding#prooobably comedy with bits of horror sprinkled in#murder mystery on a submarine... and the suspects are your six coworkers who hate the deceased guts and also a mermaid#ooh murder mystery on a spaceship but replacing mermaids with aliens would also be fun#but im sick of spaceships#so im gonna write about something completely different#(the joke here is that submarines and spaceships are both just pressure vessels#built to withstand extreme environments with their own life support systems)#i need to get some other interests i think#but also. the idea of wrapping humans up in metal and softgoods engineered with the utmost precision#and sending them off somewhere where one tiny hole in their little self-contained spaceship would kill them#just appeals to me#like it sounds horrifying but.#it's just the fact that we can do stuff like that!!#send people to the vacuum of space!! to the deepest oceans!!#humanity is meant to Explore ok#UGH i wanna go scuba diving. fucked up fucked up that swimming is a requirement#why do i need to SWIM without a mask when i could just dive with a mask!!!#my coworker is trying to take me swimming so i stop being a lil bitch about it#(and so i can go swimming in the coolest most exclusive pool ever and feel special)#but it's sooo much effort
