what's your favorite part of Ramadan in Pakistan? :)

Oooh a few things! Shorter fasts, for one (Fajr is later and Maghrib is earlier). Also, since it was in the summer, I could sleep late in the day without consequences (which is good because...Fajr is at dawn, so that cuts right in the middle of the night and disrupts sleep big time 😅)

For another, Ramadan being a big thing in Pakistan means people are generally more forgiving when it comes to exhaustion. For example: last time my family had Ramadan in Pakistan was when I was a teenager, and in my early teenage years, I used to take tennis lessons in the evening close to Maghrib/Iftar time (that's the best time tbh, because you work up an appetite and then you go home and it's time to break the fast. My instructor made sure I took plenty of breaks and didn't overwork myself...especially since I was fasting and thus couldn't have water.

Also, most of my family lives in Pakistan, so it's just nice to all be together 💞 my immediate family is just a few people, and I love them, but Iftar is meant to be as much of a communal thing as possible...and I definitely felt that in Pakistan with my extended family all there.
