The next morning, Hamuera, Piper, Cam, and Emily head off to school. Cam and Piper go to their senior classes, Emily goes over to the middle school building, and Hamuera heads to his first period class, art. He shyly says hi to a few classmates he knows, and then sits down at his desk and starts getting his supplies ready. There's a slight commotion as a new sim Hamuera hasn't seen walks into the room. She's a cute alien sim with purple skin, staticky dark eyes, and platinum white hair. She looks kind of shy as well, and Hamuera blushes as she meets his eyes and smiles. Hamuera tries to smile back, worrying he's smiling too weirdly and then panics and looks away* as she takes a seat in the row behind him. The teacher comes inside, and she starts the class, introducing the new girl as Lola Posthuma. She's the daughter of a famous alien celebrity Dorian Posthuma** and his wife Esmerelda Posthuma.

The first half of Hamuera’s day goes well, but during a random fire drill it kind of goes downhill. He runs into his ex-boyfriend Mateo, and it's incredibly awkward. Mateo broke up with him a few weeks ago, and Hamuera’s still understandably upset over it. Hamuera heads into the unisex bathroom, which is only one stall, and sits and cries for a bit before calling his mama, Chrissy. She asks if he wants her to pick him up, and he says no, I just wanted to hear your voice. Chrissy listens to him as he talks about how embarrassing it was, seeing Mateo and how he looked so calm and okay while Hamuera feels just crappy. "It's okay, nooboo." Chrissy says reassuringly over the phone. "Just get through today, and when you come home, me you, mom, and Pipes will have a comfort movie and ice cream night." She says. Hamuera sniffles a bit, but tells his mama he'd like that, and says bye to her before heading back out, hoping to quickly eat something for lunch so he won't feel drained during his afternoon classes. He runs into Lola on the way to the cafeteria, and she shyly says hi to him and he says hi back before thinking of what his moms said to try and talk to sims and just be himself, and he asks her if she wants to sit with him at lunch. A look of relief comes over Lola's face and she nods, smiling at Hamuera. "That would be great, thanks." She says, and Hamuera smiles back at her as they both start walking.
