Illya being the only one who knew the truth makes it a bit easier to keep it quiet from the others.

" It sounds callous, but you'd be better off asking Saber. She would know more about her than I do. Are you sure you want my help?"

  words are spoken with a hint of annoyance, eyes rolling as the faunus crosses her arms across her chest. really, it was astounding how many people thought confessing they loved someone in a bookstore over the story of romeo & juliet was a good idea. it really wasn’t. had some of them even read that book? it didn’t have the happy ending so many assumed it did. one hand waves away some of the smoke from the incense burning on the counter, nose wrinkling upwards.

           HER   tone alone said it all --- booming, like she was about to start in a round of pub shanties. She has to be drunk by now. She attempts to rest her chin in her hand, but she misses a little --- head bobbing dangerously close to the table before catching herself in the nick of time. Definitely drunk.

    when she thinks back on it, it’s strange-- to go from what she was doing back home to suddenly working a regular job. to instead of coming up with attack plans to designating days to go shopping or do the laundry. never in her wildest dreams did she think such was possible, let alone plausible and yet there she was, heading into a bakery because Ruby had been begging her to get some more cookies. and rather than buy them at the store where they were filled with loads of sugar, she’d figured Lovely Loaves would be a healthier and tastier alternative. plus, with Heart’s Wake going on and her past incident with the chocolate they put out....she didn’t trust it, not one bit.

           of course, when she walked into the place she was not expecting to find a former headmaster behind the counter. and as such, it’s impossible to hide her confused surprise.
