   My buddy @robotarmjokes has been having a rough time of it, I’ve been planning random gifts left and right anyways... So here’s an impromptu gift just for her. :’>

   Rhys just wants his girl to feel better~

Getting back home always felt like a relief for Rhys. It was the signal of the end of another workday, a bit of downtime... More “plotting” for the wedding (only so much was agreed upon together, but- he had to admit- the mysteries just made it all the more exciting to look forward to!) and generally, just officially allowed to pamper his fiancee without being that guy.

   Even if he was the CEO and liked to benefit from that role more than any good leader should...well, some things don’t go to the broom closest like TV shows would like you to believe, let’s say.

   Still, seeing the place darker than usual had his greeting die in his throat, looking around lost for a moment. The lights? Where was D? It was so late, you’d think she would’ve put the lights on by now... Sniffles alarmed him, kicking off his shoes in an awkward rush and following the sound back into the bedroom, where he found her curled up, facing the headboard and shoulders shaking.

   ...Oh. So this is why she texted him she was leaving work early? It wasn’t uncommon for D to pack up on leisure (he assured her twenty times over it was alright beforehand), but... Now his heart hurt.

   D was upset and he hadn’t thought to make sure she was okay... Agh, what an idiot! Well, he’s home now, so... Rhys padded over, watching her the whole way. She didn’t react until he sat down, freezing, but still sniffling. He put it aside to wiggle up, until he was spooning her; arm draped over her middle and cheek resting on the back of her head.       (Internally, he cursed his lanky limbs; they still hung off the bad and surely the seams of his pants would yet etch themselves into the sides of his knees and calves.)

   “...So. How’re you doing, D?” A simple start. Nothing too much for her and gauging how things were. Always a good place to start.

   “Pretty shit, actually,” she mumbled, giving a short, curt laugh. “Feelin’ pretty worthless. Like I should just...give up again. Stay alone, for everyone else’s sake...and my own.” Her voice cracked at the end, body shifting a little as she tried to wipe the returning tears away.

   He hated this. What that person had done to her... It was especially haunting her now. So many times... He couldn’t be upset at her, rather, the past circumstances that made her so anxious. Every nice word being buried under the fear that it might be another well thought out lie. Every pleasant touch a fear that it’ll turn into sweeping, angry gestures.

   Everything kind had been turned into a fear that it masked a deeper hatred and Rhys... Well, cliche as it is, he always did wish for the ability to take that away. Make it easier for her. Yet all he can do is press kisses into her hair, hold her closer, and make himself into the snake they both joked he was. 

   “You’re not worthless, babe... You’re wonderful. I know you have lots of difficulties believing that, but it’s true. I promised you then and I promise you now.” A kiss to her ear had her shiver and he huffed a laugh, but didn’t pester her any more on that. “Besides, I’ve heard pleasant conversations about you from co-workers--”

   “Oh fuck, they talk about me...?” DL groaned, tilting her head into the mattress, but Rhys just took it as an invite to kiss her shoulder through the t-shirt she was wearing.

   “Only good things, don’t worry... You know you’re inspiring people to get cool hairstyles? I swear it’s true.”

   “...Huh. Sounds like a load a’ shit.”

   “It’s true. I wouldn’t lie to you, remember?” She sighed deeply, then nodded a little. Not moving her head, though. At least she was sniffling less... One step at a time.

   “...Don’t think you should be alone, though,” he continued, his voice dropped into a low, quiet rumble as he shifted to perch up on his elbow; his free hand stroking through D’s bright pink hair. “You’re going to make lots of people lonely, you know that, sweetheart?” When D only hummed in response, he continued. “I heard you’ve made a good friend in that, uh...person from R&D. They really like talking to you... Hell, I’m surprised they haven’t stolen the PA system from me to announce how cool you are.”

   Rhys had to laugh a little at that. The excitable little scientist had been found on Pandora, apparently an ex-Hyperion scientist, of all things... Quickly became the head of the R&D branch with all their knowledge and downright spoiled DL with friendship whenever she went over to visit. Honestly it was...really nice to see. Having a vocal friend like that... Even Rhys noticed the confidence boost D got from that.

   Though in a time like this...it’s stubbornness and cuddles from the CEO himself that’s gonna have to save the day!!

   “I ‘unno... I guess they’re pretty cool...”

   “I’d say. You know how much happier and confident you’ve gotten being friends with them? I’m...honestly amazed.” A small laugh leaves her and Rhys brightens up. Ah, progress!! “You notice that?”

   “...A little,” she admits quietly, head finally moving back to the side. “Like, yeah, most of the time I still feel like I’m super annoying and I talk too much or what have you, but... They’re really supportive of me? And they, uh...” D paused, seemingly embarrassed, before admitting, “They actually, like...encourage me to gush about you? To them? And it’s really sweet of ‘em. So I appreciate that.”

   “...First of all, exactly. I’m proud of you, but...” He can’t stop the grin, ECHO eye definitely lighting up a little. “You gush about me to others~?”

   “Ooooohhh, don’t think too much of it. Your ego’s fine,” she scoffs, giving a pat to his arm, but Rhys is already laughing in delight. That’s great!!! And she admitted to it!!!!!! His night’s been made, that’s for sure. (And judging by the little smile he sees peeking from behind pink hair, he knows its got her feeling a tad better, too.)

   “...Hey, D? Can you look at me for a second?”

   “Noooooo.”

   “Oh? Why?”

   “Cause I probably look super gross, hah. I’ve been crying for, like... I don’t even know? Awhile, at least.” Ouch, his heart. Well, now he needs her to look at him!

   “Your face isn’t gross,” he assures, kissing a hair-covered cheek. “I’ve seen you cry before and you’re still cute. A messy cutie and I’ll kiss it forever.” A pause. “...Am I doing words right? That sounded infinitely better in my head, I think-”

   “It’s fine,” D sighed, then wiggled a bit so Rhys would scoot back a bit, so she could roll over on her back. He’d help brush away the pink strands on her face, noting quietly those red eyes and patchy-red cheeks... Leaning down to kiss them both, then her nose, and finally, her lips. Pleased at the brighter red now glowing on her face.

   “...There you go,” he murmured, flopping back down. Back went his arm over her stomach, but now with the addition of his leg over her own. (Maybe that will help his limbs. He can’t wait for pajama pants and laying over the bed the right way so his legs aren’t vibrating like they feel they are.) “It’s really alright. It’s a dark time, you know. Things are going to get better. We got the wedding soon, buncha friends are gonna be there... We could go to R&D later? Together? See what weird things your friend is making...”

   “Don’t let them hear you say that,” D mumbled and they both laughed at the image of their indignant face overhearing Rhys call her babies “weird things”.

   The laughter died pleasantly, quiet reigning for awhile, before D murmured, “You really think it’ll be alright? That I should, like, stick around? Cause I don’t wanna be a bother and I’m worried-”

   “-about the lies. I know, babe. But don’t let that jerkwad control you even now. Um, sorry to interrupt, though.” Another kiss and an awkward grin. “Really, just... Trust them. I mean, maybe not everyone- Pandora is still kinda a shitty place- but hey! You’ve got some good friends that are cool! I screen out a vast majority of jerks... Atlas: Better Than Hyperion, as I say...”

   “Pffftt, since when?” Rhys breathed in, paused... Then hummed slightly.

   “Well, since...tonight, I guess. But it counts!”

   “You’re a dork,” D shot at him, tired, but amused smile on her face. He beamed, fluttering his lashes at her. (Trying- and failing- to not grin when even that seemed to fluster her.)

   “But I’m your dork~?”

   “...Well, yeah, you are.” She laughed a little and Rhys took another chance to kiss her, stroking her hair.

   “...You feeling better, babe?”

   “Yeah... A little.”

   “A good start,” he hummed, kissing her cheek and his robotic hand smoothing over D’s cheek. “Well, I’m...going to get changed. And I welcome more cuddling, but we should move. My legs hanging off the bed’s edge have been killing my circulation, babe.”

   “Wh-? Why didn’t you tell me?!?”

   “Cause I love you and you needed to vent more than my legs need blood flow,” Rhys declared, shooshing D with a smooch. “Now give me a bit and we’ll get some tea, I’ll get changed...and we’ll be comfy and relax, alright? I love you, D.”

   “...Love you too, Rhys.”

Oh my what a question, I was actually talking about this not too long ago with a friend! And the conclusion ended up being that if her invisibility is a permanent mutation he can’t, but if she can turn it off at will then probably he can too! Right now we still don’t know how exactly Tooru’s quirk tho, so we can’t be sure which is the truth! (I like to think she can turn visible if she wants, but that’s just an headcanon with very little basis haha)

Hahahaha yeah it’s one of my top ships in the fandom! Also the only one I read fics for aside from krbk I love them A LOT (and it’s all thanks to my sister who directed my attention towards them a long time ago now, thank you sis) so yeah I’ll definitely draw more of them in the future!!!! WHY YES ANON I think they could be the bestest of pals, I’ve actually drawn them together now and again cause I like the idea of them being friends so much - a list of some of the things Bakugou and Jirou do together:

make fun of Kaminari (Kaminari feels attacked and liked it better when Jirou was convinced she didn’t like Bakugou)

share music recs and go to concerts together (when it’s big ones they particularly care for they stand in line The Whole Day and at first it used to be sorta awkward but now being together makes the hours fly)

mutter sass and snark under their breaths to themselves in class and without meaning make the other snort or have to hide an actual laugh (they sit next to each other in class did you know that that’s my fav thing tbh)

say “god, I’m so fucking gay” and answer “mood” whenever Kirishima and Momo, like, exist or do anything equally outrageous

sit next to each other with their phones in hand in silence and at the same time look up with an intense/bored/obviously-judging-sero-come-on-look-at-them expression whenever anyone walks past them (they’re actually playing bullshit app games)

play bullshit app games in co-op or having each other as friends to earn more rewards cause they have a No-Judging policy going on between them that makes sharing this sort of otherwise embarrassing stuff with each other okay

Actually that’s the first thing I thought when Mirio got his own erased... well, it still depends on what exactly Eri’s quirk does? We sorta assumed she had the same quirk as Chisaki, but they aren’t actually related so who knows? I sure hope she can fix the damage done on Mirio, tho!

It’s okay, don’t worry about that haha but I can’t say I find the theory possible in the least, so I haven’t really spent time thinking about it at all? I mean, I can imagine it would be full of angst and regrets and a lot of tears and anger mostly from his close friends, but since I just can’t believe this theory I can’t say I have anything specific I can give you on this orz sorry!

Actually I dunno man, are they possessive and jealous? I feel like they both would like it when the other told them stuff like “I’m yours” or “you’re mine”, but being there complete and utter trust between them they wouldn’t actually be jealous or act in a possessive way... does that make sense? At most I think they’d be insecure in the beginning of their relationship, but once they managed to make it clear that yes, you’re the one I want, no one else, just you then they would have little to no problems in that sense haha

Yeah yeah yeah yeah!!!!! Actually I’ve been thinking about this A LOT in the past couple of days and my conclusion ended up being that the key would be either for Kirishima to know Bakugou since they were really young OR for him to not attend Bakugou’s same middle school? Like, if they developed their personalities together, having someone like Kirishima around since they were kids could have made Bakugou develop differently, but if we go with the “they met in middle school” scenario then I think Kirishima would have had the same sort of...soothing? Effect on Bakugou only if Bakugou didn’t see him as a threat to his dream of being the only kid from that middle school to enter UA. Well, a scenario in which they had known each other since they were small young babies and Bakugou reached middle school going “the only one from this middle school to enter UA is gonna be me and Eijirou”, that would have been hella cute wouldn’t it hahaha growing up with a notion of us instead of just me would have changed Bakugou a lot, I’m pretty sure :D

01 Re: the Nina's mom thing: episode 2 opens with a scene of Nina's village and her mom sitting there reading one of Nina's letters. So the village is obviously still intact after Nina left for the capital (not saying that something couldn't have happened to it later, but it was still there when she left!) As far as her dad, I also thought it was weird that he seems to have absolutely no presence in Nina's life: even if he was away trying to make money, Nina said "I want to give my mom a better

02 life,“ like she’s her mother’s sole support. I would think that she would have mentioned it if her dad was dead, so it implies that he’s alive, just not a part of her life for some reason. The show also implies that dragon/human hybrids must be pretty rare, because Nina doesn’t understand why her transformation works the way it does: if hybrids were more common, she probably would have known already about hybrids having wacky transformation issues.03 So anyhoo, what I’m leading up to is this: we have a canon "virgin birth” with Jeanne/El. What if Nina’s birth was the same, but her father was BAHAMUT? It would explain the “she’s like a mini Bahamut” comment from Azazel, the total lack of her father and why human/dragon hybrids seem to be rare enough that Nina doesn’t understand why she works the way she does. The only issue is that Nina’s mom from what we’ve seen of her doesn’t seem like a crazy Bahamut destroy everything cultist04 (I hate ask text limits!) she looked just as horrified as Nina in the flashback scene of Bahamut’s rampage. Unless maybe Nina’s birth was engineered like Amira’s somehow, and her mom fled to the dragon village for safety? Though if that were the case you’d think someone would have come after her by now and I doubt her mom would want her leaving the village alone. What do you think? PS: I love your Charinina fics!

*Hey anon!! :D Wow, thanks for taking the time to write all of this!For the village - I remember there was that one scene, but it’s still suspicious… because of the part where she throws the paper, and because of the time she composed it in her head. The dragon-folk Favaro met said the men are all out working, which is also pretty weird. Like, the women in this world seem very capable of working, and we know Nina is doing grunt work…

HOLY POPSICLES THAT’S SO RAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’M GAME!!!!I didn’t give much thought to that “Virgin Birth” aspect but now that you say it it makes a lot of sense. I did try to see if Nina was different from the other dragon-folk in her appearance, and she’s pretty similar. What if her mom isn’t human, but she’s actually the dragon-folk? And her dad is Bahamut… Because it was always stressed that Bahamut would always return to the world, and any period of time without it would just postpone it. But then it clashes with the flashback we’ve seen, when Nina’s six-ish… though indeed, Mogoru proves us age is but a number in this show (not to mention Amira)…Hurm. Let’s see what we have.1. The dragon village exists for sure because Favaro visited it.2. Meaning there are other dragon-folk.(… quite the short list!)But this is so confusing, where were the dragons during all that time with everyone fighting?? How could they have dodged the supernatural show-down?? The only dragon we’ve see is the one they’ve met in the forest, and it was huge and ancient and didn’t mention other dragons… and with the literal awesome fire-power they possess, how could everyone just pass them by? (what if they live in some other-dimension pocket, like that dragon?)But I’m super-hyped about your theory!!! It makes lots of sense! The ‘Bahamut’ comment Azazel did seems to be very meaningful, and also Nina did attack like Bahamut, like flamethrowered the shit out of everything continuously. It also makes me wonder if there’s a special meaning to Nina’s emotions or blood pressure and its connection with her transformation. There’s also the fact that at the ending of the first season, Amira was embedded into Bahamut… so what if the tables turned, and now a human form conceals Bahamut’s strength? Could also be that Amira’s involvement affected the rebirth/reincarnation process.

What I love about this show it that it just keeps surprising us with good stuff, at least one every episode! Sometimes the twists are a tad far-fetched, but most of the time they’re good and I just enjoy being surprised so much.and thank you for the kind words about my fics :D!
