Hi I'm suddenly Emotional thinking about this one tiny part of Kerry's quest...

Seems like a generic video game thing of "oh wow, look at his unique weapon for your collection", but to me, it's anything but.

Because this is the same firearm Kerry walks out of the shower with. And sure, you can write that off as something less if you want but... the implications are harrowing.

Especially when you think about the moments in Holdin' On—when Johnny tells V about Kerry's past attempts on his own life, when Kerry evades all the questions about the tabloids and then lets slip how everyone in his employ has that very day off. When you think about how he doesn't need to readily arm himself for defense because he has numerous bots patrolling the villa at all times.

When you think about the implication that if V did not show up that day, there would've been catastrophic consequences.

And now, we fast-forward to this moment in A Like Supreme, when Kerry hands V the very pistol that could've resulted in that awful result.

The trust he puts into V in this very moment is astronomical, brings me to tears every damn time. Kerry is basically saying without words to V "hey, you saved my damn life", and he takes the first step toward a new lease on life, feeling more invigorated—and even a smidgen more positive.

Essentially, this is just a small yet powerful moment that tugs at my soul every time, and I wanted to talk about it. :')

Maybe f!reader is a tomboy (hate that phrase… dresses traditionally masc and bummy almost always?) and has to dress up for an event with Nick (or maybe both of the boys doesn’t matter). Alright first off, he doesn’t mind what you wear of course, as long as you’re comfortable and nobody is forcing you to be who you’re not/force you to wear things you’re not okay being in

I think he’d be a liiitle conflicted seeing you awaken into your divine form, let me explain:

Number One: He’s seen you in traditional masc looks that he thinks, “??? Is someone forcing you to do this?” and it triggers that LITERAL feral mode so you’d have to calm him down.

Number Two: You next have to deal with him hovering over you while you’re doing your makeup because not only is he fascinated he just can’t help take his eyes off of you – as if he does on any other occasion but don’t say anything.

Number Three: He will plead to hold you like right as soon as you’re about to leave to the event 💀 “Hold on… you mean no cuddles before you leave?” ,, “Nick. I have five minutes to run to this event.” ,, “Let me drive you?” 🥺 PLEADE?

Adding on the fact he’s absolutely adoring you while you expertly put on the makeup he asks you questions like, “Do you typically like wearing more traditional feminine things?”, “Does it make you uncomfortable?”, etc etc

He kind of thinks of you as a new person but not in the sense he treats you differently from before, he just wants to brush up on some boundaries, ya know?

For some reason he has a suit in your closet? So while you’re combing through your hair, you see his silhouette peek out behind your door through your vanity. “Nick, honey, what are you doing?”

He laughs suspiciously before widening the door, placing his hands on his hips and tilting his chin up. In all his glory stands Mr. Nelson, in a classic black and white suit. He wiggles his eyebrows at you and, “Allow me to be your king for the evening, My Queen.” He then awkwardly bows.

It takes every part of you not to laugh nor yeet your comb at him. “What…” Is all you manage to squeak out.

He then walks over to you, guiding the hand that was tangled in your locks into his own. He wraps his other hand around your waist, very much giggly. “I love this look.” He plants a soft kiss on your forehead and it makes you flustered right off the bat.

“Really?” He nods in affirmation, twirling you around your bedroom and admiring the way your dress flans out before resting back down against your legs.

He rocks you back and forth, sometimes giving you a spin. “Do you not like wearing dresses and makeup? Is this your first time looking this way and you’re just a first time expert at everything?” He jokes but you hear the curiosity in his words.

“Not very often, if at all, really. Special events if they require it.” You toss your comb on the bed before wrapping your arm around his neck. “And maybe I am, but not in this case. Sometimes I wanna wear makeup or just mess around with it so I’ve practiced here and there.”

He pauses.

“Wait have you been wearing makeup some of the times I’ve seen you and I’ve never noticed?!”

Your grin. “Maybe.” He scoffs and sighs in self-disappointment. “Why?” You pull him closer and give him a peck on the lips.

“Because? Isn’t that something I should notice?” You raise an eyebrow and he continues, “I don’t want you to feel as if your efforts are wasted by me not noticing.”

“Nick, if I ever feel like dressing up it’s not necessary for you to notice every bit of detail. I’m content lazing around like a bum without all the fancies.” He laughs at your words, “Though, seeing your reaction to this look definitely makes me think I should try a few other things someday~”

“That sounds sooo suspicious…” Nick narrows his eyes at you but you can see the faint blush on his cheeks. “Can I try helping you with your makeup or hair someday?”

This surprises you and you crack a grin. “Would you like to be my test dummy as well?”

“What?!”

“Well as my boyfriend, I think that’s an unspoken rule, no? Let your girlfriend give you a makeover, mhm.” You nod like it’s law.

“I’ve never heard of such a thing?”

In the end though, days you do feel like wearing things a little more feminine he goes shopping with you for different clothes, accessories, even those damn hair rollers.

99.9% gonna be confused as hell but he’s got the spirit and loves coming up to you with different things expressing how good you’d look thought he sneaks a cheesy comment, “You’d look stunning in anything.” With a shrug.

Takes every FIBER AND MUSCLE in your limbs to not jump this man with an uproar of kisses in the middle of the freaking store.

Either way he loves anything you wear even if you showed up one day to his house in a trash bag. He loves anything you do with your hair and look, hoping you feel satisfied in the results yourself.

(Also please bring him to that event you’re going to, he wants to show you off pspspsps like YEAH that’s my lover mhm, yeah I know she looks like a goddess. Did you know she did this herself? A professional? She might as well be. – drag him off before he can continue LMAOO)

Side note: Nick tries to act like he’s some posh fancy little man so, he’s insufferable with his… whatever you wanna call this; “Ah yes dear, this dress looks absolutely divine on you, though you look exquisite everyday.” or acts like the two of you are royalty. Just a silly little guy. That is indeed your boyfriend.

(It’s a great distraction he loves to do if you’re not typically comfortable dressing up more feminine when the time comes)

ALSO COMPLETELY RANDOM but if you’re not comfortable wearing traditional feminine clothing I… LMAOO he would absolutely be the type of significant other that wears them along with you. You buy a new skirt (just for it to be locked away with the others fr) and he’s in the room when you open the package, right

You explain why before pointing to the drawer at the bottom of your dresser before tugging it open and wow! In conclusion, he loves when you dress up and is absolutely starstruck by the different attires you wear but he’s faaaar from giving up on your usual style. He cheers you on when you go out of your comfort zone – or even if it is in your comfort zone and you just don’t want to wear such things frequently, he’s still cheering you on!

He admires the way you’re very precise with your makeup, he admires how you style your hair and he carries the days you decorate your strands with different accessories (like flowers or clips etc) deep within his heart and don’t even get him started on your outfits. Even when you’re not dolled up he always thought your sense of style was really nice and even asks you often to help buy some more clothes for him or help pick out things to wear, aha.

ALRIGHT. apologizes in advance for how much i'm about to ramble and how potentially long and nonsensical this can be, i just think its neat. i think its well known already reigen's biggest character flaw is his inability to prevent himself from self sacrifice. we all know how little he values himself so there's no point in repeating any of that

what i think about a lot is how reigen relapses in the reigen comic. as sweet as the ending to mp100 is, admitting he's a fraud doesn't exactly fix all of this deep rooted self hatred reigen's developed over the years. so naturally, being put into a similar position with tome where he has to admit again that he doesn't have powers, that he's still lying about who he is and someone else is potentially getting hurt because of him is what influences him to take on the curse because he's back in this mindset he had with mob. he's back to believing he's scum. even at the end its still implied mob doesn't visit often, if ever. and probably doesn't call or check in that much, so that probably contributes to it more too. i also wanted to say, i find it personally interesting that reigen uses the term motherly and i think it could be a projection of his own feelings towards his mother. we know they don't have a good relationship during mp100, and we're not sure after the fact, but i just assume its the same if not worse by this point. reigen's plan was to trick the curse with affection so the mimic behind would take on his shape and the curse would touch it, removing it. but instead it gets swallowed by the mimic projecting reigen's "motherly" love.

ik for a fact i'm reading too deep into that, but i thought it was a neat detail to pick around.

I've honestly been contemplating this post for a long time, both because I've been editing as I've been fleshing him out/characterizing him... and I've just been anxious to. But, well, it's about time I grab this by the horns and put it out there.

Charon headcanons. Let's get at it.

All of these opinions are my own, and I in no way claim them as 'canon'. This is merely my personal rendition/interpretation of the character.

▶ BACKSTORY/FAMILY.

He turned ghoul in his mid-thirties, before the Great War.

His homeland is Ukraine; growing up, he was Khorkov Nikitovich, son of renowned violinist Beletrovia and a father he never knew the identity of. He and his mother immigrated to the United States, promised safety in exchange for his enlistment in the military's super-soldier prototype program.

Much of his initial knowledge of American culture and language is thanks to his stepfather, Russell. Charon still has faint recollections of homeland traditions, but the many years on US soil has dampened them significantly.

Buried deep is his native language; he can't speak anywhere near fluently anymore, but some ekes out here and there (i.e. his pet name for Gail, pchelka), and often times not purposefully.

Like his mother, Charon plays violin. He's not done so for centuries, but it's muscle memory; when he and Gail find the Soil Stradivarius, he plays it with a practiced ease, as if he'd never stopped.

As a teenager (before the program started in earnest), he got a pair of angel wings tattooed to honor his mother, who he viewed as his guardian spirit; aptly enough, even through age and ghoulification, the ink remains, faded and patchy as it is.

▶ ... AND EVERYTHING ELSE.

Without realizing, he sometimes hums The Beatles while he's performing an intuitive task such as cleaning his weaponry. (See his dialogue in which he references 'Happiness is a Warm Gun': "If that is what you wish, then it is what I shall do. I must say, that I find happiness in a warm gun.")

He tends to be rather emotional--quick to temper, prone to holding grudges, but by the same token, is passionate and loyal to a damn fault.

Though he's often dry and flat as he was trained to be, he has a tendency to let slip some snarky shit once in a while. Maybe a joke or two, as a treat (which usually ends up on the darker side of humor).

The massive patches of missing skin and exposed muscle cause him to run a lot colder than most--a big reason he hardly takes off his tops unless absolutely necessary and tends to wear jackets.

His low intelligence score of three does not mean he's unintelligent. Sure, he has nowhere near many others' level of book smarts, but he's plenty wise in other facets: military stratagem, weaponry, survival tactics/skills, etc.

He's grown to accept the whole 'big dumb lapdog bodyguard' visage that many see him as because it keeps people the hell away from him. However, he absolutely detests being treated as one, and he isn't afraid to express that (i.e. his dialogue lines "I'm nobody's errand boy." / "I've saved your sorry ass enough.").

As a chronic pain girly I wonder how Nick would be with a partner that deals with chronic pain

I’m not super educated on Chronic Pain and tried to not be too specific/tread lightly fhfjd,, Feel free to correct me if anything feels off/wrong/weird or anything else :D ❤️

Nick Nelson:

First and foremost, he wants to make sure you’re comfortable as possible. He doesn’t want you moving too much if you don’t need to be moving.

If you have medication and need a refill or something, please stay at home and rest while he goes to pick it up :,) (yes even if you both are in school at the time. my mans can drive)

He’s very careful when being physical with you and appreciates when you tell him what’s fine to do and what not to do.

He reaches 24/7 about chronic pain and the specifics of your own symptoms, he also wants to make sure that your mental/emotional state doesn’t go south so he loves to bring you things you like whether it’s a book or an accessory he saw while shopping, food, drinks, anime/manga, movie dvds etc etc

If your fatigue is low he’ll help prop you up and avoid touching anywhere the pain is severe at the best he can. He keeps watch over you and is quick on his feet the moment you need anything.

Also if you’re someone that has problems with focusing on a task at hand he’s a helper 😌

Sometimes it may or may not seem like he’s babying you but honestly he’s just very concerned and wants to help with whatever he can. He asks if it’s okay to ask you certain questions or say certain comments that may come off as offensive to some and is very open to learning more about chronic pain from you instead of just researching on the internet!

BOUNDARIES BOUNDARIES

He helps track your pain levels everyday as well, plans out an exercise routine with you and your doctor – just making sure you’re keeping yourself happy, healthy and active as much as you can without overexerting yourself.

Walks, light/stretching, swimming, whatever you feel at ease doing he’s down for it. Though (in the future, when you’re adults and living together) every once in awhile randomly while it’s around early morning – he’ll take you outside to the front yard, set down two mats (and a big blanket nearby) and have you stretch with him.

Breathing exercises too.

He’s super patient and understanding in your needs (& wants), super attentive and tries not to be overbearing, haha.

mob’s fave soad album is mezmerize

he heard it for the first time on a business trip out of town. yoshioka lugged his old beaten up cd case along with and asked mob to look through and pick something. mob had never heard of any of the bands in the cd case, so he just picked one out because he thought the cover art was nice so they popped it in.

the cd was well loved with tiny micro scratches on it and it skipped in some places, yoshioka(possesed by dimple at that point) would beat on the car radio to reset it(being yelled at and lectured by reigen bc the car is a rental)

mob really liked the noise though, and through the whole album he was smiling.

yoshioka noticed how much mob enjoyed it so he gifted him the cd :)
