You might have read about the new report from the IDF on Oct 7.

It is obviously good that the IDF is acknowledging its failures openly, because that's the first step to avoiding similar failures in the future.

I suspect that Eylon Levy is voicing the view of most Israelis:

We will never underestimate our enemies again. We will take their threats deadly seriously. And this means we won’t take the suicidal risks advocated by those urging us not to assume the worst.

The cost of correcting these errors will be high, varied, and complex.

It blows our minds that some people deny the atrocities of October 7th when Hamas terrorists themselves admit to them, including Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar who was directly responsible for them and who asserted today (November 30) that Hamas will repeat the horrors of that despicable day in the future.

Kidnapped My Ass

Liberal Wingnut and Celebrity Activist Greta Thunberg sent out a video the other day saying that she and the rest of her Liberal Wingnut Celebrity Buddies on their "Narcissistic Liberal Celebrity Activist Selfie Cruise" were being "kidnapped" by Israeli forces. Well, good news. Ms. Thunberg and her "Nutty Buddies" have been deported by Israel. Weird, huh? Most people who are REALLY KIDNAPPED don't get released as quickly as these people have been. I guess they weren't REALLY kidnapped now, were they? It just goes to show you that Liberals will LIE THEIR ASSES OFF to further any agenda they want pursued. Now, wouldn't it be great if Hamas would deport the rest of The Hostages they're been holding since 10/7/23 back to Israel as fast as Israel did that for Ms. Thunberg. Btw, I love the picture in the article. Not many "Kidnapping" victims smile at their kidnappers like Ms.Thunberg is in that picture. LOL

HEARTBREAKING - Another Hostage Killed: Kibbutz Be’eri says that one of its residents who was taken hostage in Gaza died while in captivity.

In a statement, the kibbutz said Ofra Keidar, 70, had died without detailing when or how.

“Her body is in the hands of Hamas. We demand her return along with the other hostages,” the statement added.

Keidar went for a walk early in the morning of October 7, and hadn’t been heard from since.

Her husband, Sami Keidar, was killed in the family’s safe room, and their daughter, Yael Keidar, who has a mild intellectual disability, hid in the safe room and emerged hours later, waiting until it was quiet outside. - ToI

As an Israeli, I felt incredibly disappointed in the lack of support from two people who always speak so highly about human rights. The butchering of 1400+ civilians, babies, elders and disabled people, tortured, maimed, burned alive, children hiding for hours in a safe room while their parents bodies lay there.

Did you know that there are over 200 bodies still unrecognised because of what they did to these people?

199 known kidnapped, including 30 children, one of them is 6 months old!!!

These atrocities demanded a response, and not a sad apology for signing something you didn’t even read. Both are meaningless to me now.

Authorities say that 56-year-old Mia Goren who was kidnapped by Hamas on Oct. 7 from Nir Oz has been murdered in Gaza. 

Her husband Avner was murdered in Israel during the massacre.

I just…I’ve always known that no group or location is ever free of antisemitism. But I’d honestly never considered that the left would be the group to behave the worst out of anyone at a time like this. It’s terrifying. My sense of safety in this world is shattered. The destabilization of my world is cataclysmic.

I know for a fact that people are responding with orientalism, fetishization, and fandomization of the Israel / Palestine conflict. Because there is no way in hell that the American left would have responded the same way to October 7 happening in America.

Imagine if 364 people had been killed by AK assault rifles in a mass shooting at a music festival in America. I think the response from the American left would be much different. There would been have been universal condemnation and a push to dismantle and disarm the known hate group that planned and executed the shooting. There would have been common sense reforms planned to prevent the exact same thing from happening again.

But the mass shooting killed 364 Israelis, not 364 Americans. It was accompanied by 5000 rockets aimed at civilian targets, 775 other fatal shootings, and 247 instances of human trafficking across international borders. Torture. Mutilation. Sexual violence. Infants shot multiple times.

Somehow, that means the response from the American left has fully reversed. Many of them have, in essence, said that “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” They used the opportunity to glorify terrorists who mass-murdered civilians with the intent to commit genocide. Isn’t that what the American alt-right normally does in response to violence?

The necessary disclaimer here is that none of this should serve to justify the actions of the Israeli government. A military force that is typically known for having historically low rates of civilian death now has historically high rates— there is no excuse for that. The amount of sheer Israeli incompetence that allowed the attack to happen in the first place, and led such a disproportionate response, is nothing but a complete humanitarian failure of the Likud administration.

But I remember distinctly how many Americans glorified Hamas and called for the destruction of Jews in Israel on October 7th. During the terrorist attack. Before Israel’s military response. Clearly, no military response of any kind could have been justified by the people who usually beg for violent hate groups to get disarmed.

This is a kind of conflict many of them will never have to actually reconcile with, because the while the average American can access an automatic rifle, they can’t access a rocket launcher. Lacking insight into geopolitical history, the realities of warfare, and any actual ties to the real people being killed, they turned their slacktivism into a show. Hamas are Good Guys and Zionists are Bad Guys. And as long as it’s happening several thousand miles away, a Good Guy with a Gun becomes a perfect fantasy.
