Hermoso comercial navideño celebra el poder emocional de la fotografía

El nuevo comercial de Toyota, “Present From the Past”, con temática navideña, se centra menos en los automóviles de la compañía y más en el poder de la fotografía. 

Cuenta la historia de una joven que recibe un regalo de su abuela: una cámara análoga y las fotos que su abuela había tomado hace muchos años.

“Mi querida nieta. Cuando tenía tu edad, me regalaron esta cámara. Que esta cámara capture (fotografíe) tu gran y hermosa vida como lo hizo con la mía”, narra la voz de la abuela mientras su nieta abre el regalo.

La joven lleva su regalo a un viaje por carretera y recrea las antiguas fotografías de su abuela, capturando nuevas versiones de todos esos lugares que visitó su abuela. Luego coloca sus fotografías recreadas junto a las originales de su abuela en un álbum de fotos y le regala el álbum a su abuela, completando un círculo nostálgico y maravilloso de fotografías. 

El comercial me encantó, es muy lindo y hace un hermoso trabajo al demostrar el impacto emocional que la fotografía puede tener en la vida real. Sin duda la fotografía captura vidas y conecta personas. Mientras haya cámaras e imágenes, la historia seguirá viva. Chévere!

Un dato interesante es que Toyota se asoció con la organización sin fines de lucro 100Cameras para patrocinar programas de fotografía para 10.000 estudiantes durante el próximo año.

OIAA April Report: How ARMY Made an Impact With #OurRemedyIsARMY Campaign

Report day is one of our favorite days at OIAA. We love to inform ARMY about the impact they are making in the world. 

And this time, we are sharing the report for the April campaign that benefited not one but nine organizations! 

For our April campaign that coincided with BTS’ debut anniversary, we decided to reach out to the organizations we have worked with before. These included:

Thirst Relief

KKOOM

MindLeaps

Cuatro Por Venezuela

PCF

CHAP

PFCF

100Cameras

COVID-19 has had a massive impact worldwide with vulnerable sections facing adverse situations due to the health crisis and the resulting economic fallout. The organizations that support these groups have also been affected due to staffing and supply shortages. Considering the role they play in supporting people and animals during the trying times, it’s really important for them to receive continuous funding, especially during COVID, when they need to further their fight against the contagious disease.

So, with our focus on COVID relief efforts, the April campaign "Our Remedy is ARMY" was able to raise a total of $11,559.10 USD with the help of 690 ARMY who came together from over 44 countries to support the cause.

To help ARMY who could not contribute monetarily, we launched a Bonus Mission ARMYing At Home and circulated tutorials for apps and browsers that ARMY can use for FREE:

Ecosia: a browser that uses ad revenue to combat deforestation.

Tab For A Cause: an extension that earns ad revenue for charities with every tab you open.

Amazon Smile: a feature that allows you to choose a charitable organization to support when you shop on Amazon.

Freerice: an educational game that uses ad revenue to donate grains of rice for every question you answer correctly.

But that’s not it!

We all were excited for BTS’ Bang Bang Con, eagerly waiting for at-home concert experience. To celebrate and als accompany this special event, OIAA teamed up with BTSYouniverseTN to organize ARMYCharityCon, a Freerice challenge that allowed ARMY to earn digital goodies when they donate or complete a Freerice challenge. 

While it was great to see ARMY participating for a noble cause, our team was aware of the effect pandemic is having on people’s mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Therefore, to help ARMY experiencing financial or mental hardships due to job loss, living in isolation, or recovering from COVID-19, OIAA created lists of online and offline resources. These resources are free and easily accessible.

We are always in awe of ARMY’s prowess and look forward to many more project with you!
