Hands 31-50 Halfway the #100handschallenge ! It's gping better than I expected, even though I'm running out of interesting references. All of these are done in 1.30 minutes and HB pencil, using my Faler Rowney Graduate sketchbook. I think the progress is becoming more visible now I'm abput to start the second half. I completed my 100 hand challenge! I don’t mind doing hands. Hands add character to your characters by introducing mannerisms. Even if you don’t draw them and hide them that can come across shy or timid, still effective. But it’s time to show hands and be confident for your characters and yourself. 30/100. Struggled through today, some aren’t that great and there’s a half-arsed half-painted one. Decided tomorrow I’ll take it slow and put more effort into painting some, this means I probably won’t do as many but right now I kinda feel like I’m just copying and not really learning so it’ll be worth it.

More hand studies! 🖐🏻✊🏻👍🏻 I'm planning to do a hundred of them, but at my own pace. Earlier this year I did the 100 Heads Challenge, where you draw 100 heads in ideally 10 days. I skipped the '10 days' part on purpose, but eventually did a couple of months about it 🙈 When it comes to the hands: I'm at 30 and I think I am finally noticing some progress. I'm doing all of these in 1-2 minutes per hand, without erasing anything. I started usong a red pencil (see previous post), but I didn't like the way that pencil felt. Perhaps I'll switch to a new colour or fineliners soon! I'm slowly gaining new motivation to draw and paint again, which means I'll soon pick up working on a watercolour/gouache idea I had in mind! A few weeks ago I started working on it. 100 HANDS DONE! It took me a bit longer than I wanted to, because of reasons 🤷🏼‍♀️ But I finished the #100handschallenge . This challenge went WAY faster than the #100headschallenge I did earlier this year. You can view the progress of the 100 heads in my highlights of you enjoy seeing people suffer 😄😅 These last 10 hands were awful. I didn't enjoy it, which is visible in the sketches as well. This time I also went for 1 minute (!!) per hand instead of 1.5. I just wanted to be done. Even though the last 30 hands look like total crap, I've definitely made progress! Will I do it again? Probably not. What are other fun challenges to take part in? Hands 51-70 Close to finishing the #100handschallenge and then I lost motivation. Left page was drawn on November 14th, de rifht page was drawn one day later. I was making progress, then everything collapsed 😂 90 seconds per hand. First 15 of the 100 hands challenge! I could’ve done a better job with 3 & 4 but it was early on and I wasn’t really feeling it so I moved on, I was tempted to go back and fix them but decided to leave them. Don’t like 14 either but I did try harder on that one so it’s more weakness than laziness lol.
