The over simplified answer is that Linda was a (sorta)metahuman with brown hair and wore a blonde wig as supergirl and was not related to Kal at all.

the post i expressed confusion over kara vs linda as supergirl is now gone to hell because my cat smacked my phone out of my hands which led to me accidentally deleting it. but this helps a bit. though does make me raise an eyebrow at dc on why this character was created. seems to only make things more convoluted. comics are constantly trying to retcon things to make them simpler but all theyre really doing is pushing all the complication to everybody a decade in the future

im still on ttg season 2, but after that is assault on arkham which i think is connected to the video game series ive never played
