I’m having more thoughts about yaz/thasmin (please, everyone act surprised, I have a reputation to uphold /sar)

So her arc is being more like the doctor, right? Yea, that’s her arc, her story. She fills the role as doctor when 13 can’t, it’s lovely, I love it, one of my favorite things about the series because I too pick up bits and pieces of the people I love

But. Imagine. 13 doing the same. 13 using phrases yaz does or talking with the same infliction or copying movements

also imagine: yaz learning bits and leaves of gallifryen (how the fuck do you spell that?), not the whole thing, but common phrases in the tardis, names of where they go often (earth, Britain, etc), yaz learning how to read the tardis’ screens- maybe not speak it but read it, yea

Or 13 getting into the habit of eating/laying down whenever yaz does, just wanting to be close to her without knowing how to ask. Mirroring her companion’s actions as a way to spend more time together even if it’s just a few minutes for a snack break

Also the doctor throwing away morals any time yaz is in danger- throwing herself into pent up anger and pain to protect the person closest to her, the person she loves, one she can’t lose.

Yaz finding books in the tardis’ library (cuz the tardis has a library) and not understanding a language, asking 13 to translate for her

13 being terrible at cooking so yaz makes their food

Yaz always having random stuff in her pockets (which are bigger thanks to 13) because 13’ll hand her stuff and forget to get it back

13 consistently emptying her pockets onto yaz’s hand anytime she’s looking for something (like a lot)

it’s actually hilarious how many companions they gave 13 the tardis is always PACKED it’s like the writers were scared to leave her and yaz alone together for any length of time in case they just started scissoring

You know what I've always loved about this scene?

The fact the Doctor needs to be doing something because this conversation is hard for her to have and so she's not comfortable sitting still. It's in character for her to never stop, to always be moving, talking through everything, she would be chaos to be around, lol. But the moment she really needs Yaz to hear, the moment she essentially tells Yaz 'It's You' in that moment she stops, she looks straight at Yaz so Yaz can understand the weight of her words and the depth she means them even though she can't act on them.

She wants to make sure Yaz completely understands to make sure theres no ambiguity, so Yaz never has to wonder what she means and if she heard right. The Doctor actually stops and looks Yaz in the eye to give Yaz that moment. Because the Doctor knows thats the least Yaz deserves.

If thats not amazing writing, direction and acting I don't know what is. and so I love all of it.

I have a lot of thoughts on episodes we shoulda gotten in 13’s era so ima reblog this everytime I think of a new one, but here’s a list of them so far

One focusing on yaz’s depression (I believe that yaz was depressed both bc of being bullied and having no friends and a chemical imbalance, maybe she runs out of meds at one point on the tardis and we see how 13 tries to help? Or it could be like through various flashbacks)

One about Ryan’s grief, both for grace and his mom- with bits about his relationship with his dad

One about Graham… idk what it could be but I like Graham and he should get an episode

One about Dan, again idk what but that man is criminally underdeveloped

One where River meets yaz and 13. It’d be so fun.

One where 13 and yaz get stuck somewhere together, preferably after both realize their feelings (altho having it before would be equally entertaining)

An episode with yaz’s sister as an important character

One where yaz gets taken by a villain and 13 becomes a tornado of fury to get her back

Like 10 more episodes with ONLY yaz and 13 as the main 2, like in the time period between graham/ryan and dan

13 and yaz going on a date, whether they know it’s a date or not

More episodes with Kate, her dynamic with 13 could be brilliant
