Sharks have an incredible ability to heal themselves of injuries that would take a human weeks or months (Abernethy, 2011). One of the most prominent cases was a Gansbaai shark named Prop. Prop who was nearly split in half by a boat propeller, was entirely healed just 9 months later. (Wcisel, 2014). Scientists now believe that shark immunity genes may be the answer to cancer prevention and the rapid healing of wounds (Baker,2017). This is just an additional reason to promote the conservation of sharks who are unfairly being slaughtered by fisheries for shark fin soup. Help us stop it once and for all. Sharks are one step away from extinction and in 2048 we will be facing the devastating impact of the disappearance of sharks as apex predators in our oceans but if we unite in this cause and fight today, we can turn the tide! Be a voice for sharks and help make a difference. ✴ Sign the petition link in my bio! ✴ Photo: blue sphere foundation #sharks #shark #apexpredators #foodchain #keepbalance #ecosystems #oxygen #ocean #conservation #helpsavesharks #protectwhatyoulove #sharkfinsoup #finbannow #finfree #racingextinction #sharksareimportant #200sharks (at Haleiwa, Hawaii) https://www.instagram.com/p/BvAkinjhGEW/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1mblqbf7ftbvv
