idk why it needs to be said, but Kimiko and Frenchie have never been platonic 😭 since that finale, I’ve seen mostly positivity about their confession/kiss, but I have also seen people claiming that the writers are “pandering to a minority” by making them a couple…??? THEY HAVE BEEN BUILDING UP TO THAT SINCE THE MOMENT THEY MET!

Frenchie has always been queer, yes, but it’s SO obvious that he’s been pining for Kimiko since the very beginning. and when she told him he was “family,” it didn’t necessarily negate their romantic vibe. family is simply comfortability and love between two or more people, and it isn’t reserved to platonic relationships.

and for those who claim they were “more like siblings,” I beg of you to answer this: what does your relationship with YOUR siblings look like?! because if it looks anything like the dynamic between Kimiko and Frenchie…that’s concerning.

he literally calls her “my heart” exclusively for the better part of three seasons. which, in French, is typically a romantic endearment.

needed to speak my truth because I’m tired of this debate and the strangely purist takes people have expressed about these two and their relationship. they are allowed to like each other as more than friends, and I’m not sure why it’s such a taboo thing for two fucked up people to find their soulmate in one another. 🤷‍♀️

the day the lifesteal fandom (especially twitter) acknowledges and tries putting a stop to the creepiness + absurdity of their mob mentality and how the way they try so hard to enforce content creators’ boundaries for them is the day i might know peace. it is so unnecessary

first, if you’re in a fandom, you are in no way responsible for policing what others can or cannot do.

sure, maybe some people will listen, but that creates a hostile environment where everyone is walking on eggshells, afraid of being “cancelled” (i’ve especially seen this again and again on twitter).

and for the people who dont listen to others trying to police them, they immediately become the villain. why dont you follow these set rules? aren’t you a moral person?

i understand there are a lot of younger people in this fandom especially younger people who have never been in a fandom before, but constant hostility like this towards others is not okay.

if someone is making content that goes against a content creator’s boundaries, block them and move on.

i dont care what it is, you just need to block it and move on. that way, the content is contained and you dont need to think about it again

what’s NOT okay is bringing attention to it by making stuff like call out posts or, god forbid, bringing it to content creators attention. DON’T DO THIS.

what both of these do is bring more attention to the content you dont like. of course, this was your goal; you want to spread awareness of this content so people will hopefully not create any more of it. right?

that isn’t how these situations tend to go. instead, others will reply to the callout, condemning the person’s content. then, harassment starts. there’s been numerous times in this fandom when someone received cruel comments and death threats because they broke cc boundaries

this is fostering a hostile environment. this is showing others in the fandom that this will happen to them when they dont act with the majority.

i’m not saying you have to like this content or that you can’t tell your friends “hey i think this person’s weird”, but these things do not need to be public.

just block and move on.

also, showing or telling a cc about content that breaks their boundaries is in itself breaking their boundaries.

they did not ask to see it. there is no reason to show them.

remember, fandom is a place for fans. ccs are welcome to interact, but they also need to understand that they cannot control everyone in the fandom. you, as a fan, need to understand this too

Following up on this excellent post from @nightgoodomens, it really is astonishing to see so many people in the GO fandom misunderstanding the characters/personalities of Aziraphale and Crowley. While I by no means am against people having head canons or differing interpretations, it has become frustrating to see people pushing their ideas about Aziraphale and Crowley onto others and declaring them to be official canon, leaving no room for any kind of discussion.

One of the things spoken about in the above linked post is the denigrating of Crowley, which seems to be a near constant in the fandom at this point, particularly in relation to the "apology dance" scene. (Which, to be fair, is chock full of soft!Dom Aziraphale vibes--thank you, Michael Sheen.) What seems to keep getting missed is that the entire apology dance routine is something that Aziraphale and Crowley do to each other. There is just as much of a possibility that Crowley sat there with a similarly smug look on his face and let out a guttural, snakey "Very nice" when Aziraphale did the dance in the years he listed off, because they play this game together.

Aziraphale and Crowley's relationship is one of equals, and I think this is also something people seem to not understand well. It seems as though a lot of fans who project themselves onto Crowley want to be taken care of, and so they want to believe the same of Crowley, and that the reason he wants to be taken care of is because he is broken. But someone doesn't have to be broken to want someone to take care of them. Sometimes the people who are a shambles on the outside can be dominant, just as sometimes the most buttoned up, put together people can also be submissive. And sometimes the people who look in control on the outside can feel not at all that way on the inside.

But this nuanced thinking seems to increasingly be difficult for many GO fans, particularly those who spend a great deal of time on social media, a place where people are either blindly praised or denigrated and torn down, and where such behavior greatly reinforces that binary, black-and-white mindset. We so badly want the world to be clear-cut--good vs. evil, heroes vs. bad guys--but very often that just isn't how things work. And it is exactly what Terry and Neil were trying to speak against in the GO book (and subsequently, the TV show).

The other thing that I think influences a lot of fans' perceptions about Aziraphale and Crowley is their chosen corporations (i.e., Crowley being thin and Aziraphale being plump). There is an automatic assumption that thin somehow equals more vulnerable, and for all of the emphasis that is placed on Aziraphale and Crowley being genderfluid/nonbinary/not subscribing to traditional gender roles, it's Crowley who seems to be viewed as more androgynous/femme, and is therefore looked at as inherently vulnerable. Meanwhile Aziraphale is thicker and viewed as more masculine, and therefore he is somehow inherently not vulnerable. Yet if the body types were reversed, it seems highly likely that fans' attitudes toward them would be much different.

(It also saddens me that this seems to mirror the fans' treatment of Michael and David, where Michael serves as a target for the fans' venom and is seen as less desirable/more threatening because he presents more traditionally masculine, while David is not targeted or attacked and is seen as more desirable/less threatening because he presents much more androgynously. Consequently, many fans find it easy not to sympathize with Michael, and when you can readily disregard someone's feelings, it becomes easier to see them as "less." In the case of Aziraphale and Michael, it leaves no room for either one to be vulnerable and is unfair to both of them.)

What I have always taken away from Good Omens--and from Michael and David's portrayal of Aziraphale and Crowley and how deeply they both understand these characters--is that Crowley doesn't need to be a perfect angel for Aziraphale to like him. He just needs to be a little bit of a good person. And Aziraphale doesn't need to be a perfect demon for Crowley to like him--he just needs to be enough of a bastard to be worth knowing. Neither one has to fully subscribe to the other's outlook or point of view to listen to what they have to say.

Aziraphale and Crowley meet in the middle. In the place that becomes their side, and where they take care of each other, fight with each other, and love each other. And that's more than most of us could ever ask or hope for...

So I finished IT. And omg do I have some notes/complaints/headcanon changes etc.

Things I'm mad the movies robbed us of:

Mike and his dad doing donuts in their pickup truck, Mike's parents in general??? Like they are 1 of the 2 parent pairs I love. Give me the Hanlons damnit.

Ben, Bill and eddie being the start of the losers. Technically Bill and eddie, but the losers started when Ben came. Thanks "asthma".

Stan and Richie being extremely close thay they're usually always together. Literally I love their dynamic. The movie makes it seem like Stan despises him, why??

Bill and richie on silver being chased by a werewolf pennywise wearing a letterman jacket with *tozier* on it. Tell me that shit isn't a fucking metaphor.

Richie being extremely smart, not just a jokester. Letterman jacket cause he's literally so smart.

Ben snorting lemon juice in his nose so the whiskey he drinks doesn't burn his throat. Ben being chaotic and living out of spite in general tbh.

Belch and vics death. I feel like it changed Henry's perspective a bit. Like vic warned Mike. Also where tf is moose and peter??

Things I'm happy they didn't include:

Bill and bev sleeping together even though Bill is married (my bev would never). I didn't like the kiss either. Like ugh.

Ben is successful yes, but he's a huge alcoholic due to loneliness. The bartenders know his schedule.

You've started playing Control 2. The Hiss have finally been eradicated and Jesse is trying to formally settle into her new role as Director. She has a routine: sign documents that need her approval, perform janitorial duties, deal with any out of control Altered Items, visit Emily Pope- her closest friend in the FBC and assisstant to Head of Research Dr Casper Darling, visit Dr Darling to discuss ongoing research-

Polaris flares wildly. Jesse counters with what do you mean? It's just Dr Darling, he's been here for years. He's always been a bit weird. He writes poetry in his spare time? Yeah, so what? He's a valuable part of the bureau and is allowed to have hobbies.

But Polaris insists that something's not right, and Jesse trusts her. Wait. Didn't she make Emily Head of Research?

Polaris guides Jesse to unlock her memories of the real Dr Darling. The one whose videos she'd seen, the one who ended up exposing himself to "Hedron" and presumably ascended to another plane of existence. The one who acted nothing like the man who is currently Head of Research and has always been, according to everyone else's memory. Jesse slowly realises and comes to terms with the fact that the Dr Darling in The Oldest House is an imposter, or at the very least not the original Dr Darling, and reality has been changed to reflect the switch. It's like the original never existed, like this new version has overwritten the old one.

just some dumb thoughts regarding my kh videos i guess lol

been thinking about how it seems like a good chunk of people watching my kh videos nowadays are a younger audience

there's nothing wrong with that of course! i think it's neat when people get introduced to kh no matter their age and i'm happy that people enjoy the stuff i make revolving around kh and I always look forward to reading comments and stuff!

but when it's stuff coming from a younger audience, half of those comments are usually random gibberish or the usual ship bashing lol

which hey, i've been there before (not the ship bashing part... at least not that i remember 😅) but i've made my fair share of random comments on people's videos back in the day. and yeah, i didn't know any better 'cause i was young and dumb lol

maybe i'm just getting old 😅 it's times like these where i wish i was in the kh fandom at least in like the early 2010s when amvs were still thriving and there were people around my age making all that stuff.

the vibes just aren't the same anymore and i feel a bit out of place with all these young people i guess lol
