Jungle Indie Rock (2010-2020) - 10th Anniversary Playlist

On May 1st, 2010, a group of friends founded a music website to post the songs and videos they liked. We were Mar, Dao, Rebjukebox and Nik, four music lovers from USA, Spain, UK and Sweden who used to meet online to share bands and tracks. We called our site Jimdo Indie Rock Music, like our free hosting name, so the URL matched too. Later, we changed such a bad idea for Jungle Indie Rock, to keep the J of JIR. Our first playlist was posted exactly today, 10 years ago. It was downloaded by 42 people, including somebody from a lost island in the middle of the Pacific ocean. We were so excited... 42!!! Wow! Due to the “humongous” success of our music lists, we kept posting them. Every month was a fight to get our songs opening the playlist. Yes, “our songs”, because we feel each track as if we had recorded it. Our songs, our bands, our albums,... When you like music so much you make it yours.

Today, with thousands of followers supporting us, we are together again to bring you our favourite songs from the 2010′s decade. This time, Mar, Rebjukebox, David (Daloja) y Dao selected I7 songs per year, 70 in total and 5 bonus tracks. Two extra songs are the ones we could not add via Spotify. To close the playlist, we have included some artists that were often posted in our blog and, unfortunately, they left us. We dedicate our 10th Anniversary Playlist to all the ones that passed away, many leaving so good music for all of us.

アラバマのラッパー。

ダークなトラップ系のビートで、いなたい南部らしいラップを聴かせる作品です。名乗るほどThe Notorious B.I.G.に似ていませんが、声質は少し似ている時があります。

緊張感のあるメンフィスバウンス風の「Paint The Floor」がお気に入り。

Curren$y & Fuse「Spring Clean」

ルイジアナのラッパーとアトランタのプロデューサーのタッグ作。

トラップ系のドラムにチルめな音使いを合わせたものが中心のビートに、鼻声系の声質でゆるゆると泳ぐラップが絡む良作です。Curren$yファンの方にはたまらないと思います。

Gunplayをフィーチャーした「Everything」ではGriseldaっぽいブーンバップにトライしており驚かされます。

dewitt4dilla「THA SOUL BROTHA SERIES VOL 1」

フィリーのシンガー、Musiq Soulchildのプロジェクト。

J Dillaの名ビートの上でソウルの名曲を歌った、マッシュアップ的な発想の作品です。J Dilla印の暖かく人間味のあるビートに、Stevie Wonderを思わせるソウルフルな歌が自然体で乗る快作に仕上がっています。

スムースでいて情熱的な歌が素晴らしい「ROCK WITH YOU」がベストトラック。

Loraine James「Hmm」

UKのビートメイカー。name your price。

テクノやIDM、ダブステップなどをミックスしたような電子音楽作品です。煌びやかなシンセを使ったハイファイでダンサブルな曲が多いですが、アッパーなだけではない魅力があります。

クールな雰囲気でスムースに聴かせる「Hmm」がハイライト。

Nino Man「Hungry For Success 3」

NYのラッパー。

スピットするタイプのNYらしいラップスタイルの持ち主です。サウンドはトラップやソウルフル路線、00年代のSwizz Beatzが作りそうなバンガー系など。トラップをやっても南部ものとは違う、NYらしい垢抜けた空気が通っています。

Jim Jones、Styles P、Dave Eastらが参加。

アラバマのビートメイカー。name your price。

胡散臭いノスタルジアを備えた音作りにトラップのドラムを組み合わせた、いわゆるヴェイパートラップ系の作品です。メンフィスG的な声ネタを使った曲もあり、ヒップホップ好きの方も楽しめると思います。

アジアっぽい匂いもする寂しげな「6 AM」がお気に入り。

PimpDaddyPuff「Nothing 2 Lose」

ルイジアナのラッパー。

高めの声質でいなたいラップを聴かせる、いかにも類似穴らしいラップが堪能できる作品です。トラップ路線もありますが、コテコテのバウンスも多いので好き者にはたまらないはず。

ファンキーなベースが効いたタイトル通りのGテング、「G-Thang」がベストトラック。

Robb Bank$「Calendars」

フロリダのラッパー。

00年代のトラップやクラウドラップ、ダブステップなどの近年のヒップホップでは置き去りにされがちだった要素も意図的に取り入れたような作品です。野太い声質のまったりとしたラップも聴き応えがあります。

哀愁メロウ路線の「Big Pimpin」がハイライト。

420 Stunna「Stunnavelli」

フロリダのラッパー。

ジャケとタイトルの割には2Pacには似ていませんが、G好きの方にはおすすめできる作品です。PliesとJ-Dawg（Boss Hogg Outlawzの方）を足したようなラップを、地味渋ファンキー路線や哀愁系で聴かせる好作に仕上がっています。

もの悲しいピアノを使った哀愁ビートにKoly Pを迎えた「Gambling」がお気に入り。

53 days after I started, I’ve finally finished by Slibbs AU. :)

So here’s what I’m doing: I’m going to post a chapter tonight, then 2 every day until it’s all posted. With it being 36 600 words, it looks like it will be about 11 chapters. (I try to break them down to about 3k words per chapter.) I’ll post early morning before I go to work, and in the late afternoon when I get home.

Wiz Khalifa & Girlfriend Declare Love & Affection On IG Birthday Post

One of hip hop favorite tokers celebrated his birthday yesterday (September 8), and it looks like he rang in his 33rd year by spending it with his girlfriend. Wiz Khalifa wanted to commemorate his birthday with his fans by releasing his Big Pimpin’ mixtape featuring Curren$y, Harry Fraud, Statik Selektah, and many other artists and production features. Music wasn’t the only way he celebrated his big day, because his girlfriend, Aimee Aguilar, shared a lovey-dovey message for the rapper on Instagram.

“Happy Birthday Baby,” Aimee wrote to Wiz Khalifa alongside a series of romantic photos of the couple. “Thanks for everything you do !You are the hardest working man I know and the grind never stops. Thank you for being my best friend and someone I can always count on. Your smile always brightens anyone’s day I Can’t wait to see the blessings that are going to continue coming Love you Cam.”
