I spent all week (and last week) painting and rearranging furniture and yesterday/today doing half of a bedroom overhaul and making the playroom functional. I am throwing a birthday party tomorrow, so this is very important. Also very important? Cleaning the kitchen. In the face of all this paint and chaos, I kind of forgot we have a kitchen. Oops.

Prompt #3: “Temper” - FFXIV Write 2022

Down spilled out of the ruined pillow, strewn across the unmade bed.

All of his clothes, and some that belonged to his lovers, had been thrown from the drawers.

The ruins of what was once a large, low wicker basket littered the floor.

Vases were tipped over; some were cracked but otherwise salvageable, while others were completely broken, spilling plants and soil all over the apartment.

Expensive liquor soaked into the carpet, spilling from its upended-bottle.

The torn sails of a model airship splayed around its cracked mast at the foot of the desk.

From the door of his wrecked apartment, Evander faced his foe with a steely resolve etched into his tanned features. With a snarl, his enemy launched at him, and his courage wavered. He tried to slip away at the last moment, but the blow still connected, grazing against his hip and bowling him over. Within a breath, his assailant was on top of him, hoofed feet bearing down on his chest and stomach. "Fine! Fine! You win!" the bedraggled hyur shouted. "You can have more grapes!"

The karakul bleated in victory and claimed his prize from Evander's shopping bag.
