Day Nineteen | Pair a book with a season
Winter + Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik
“So the fairy silver brought you a monster of fire for a husband, and me a monster of ice. We should put them in a room together and let them make us both widows.”

25 Days of Booklr | What book would you gift someone?
The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo
Have you seen this book? The way the illustrations span out like branches with each page. I love getting books with illustrations or maps as gifts, so I like to gift people with books that have something more than words. Also, a great way to introduce others to the Grishaverse!

Day 7: Share an anticipated read that did not disappoint
(Here, have a picture from a Fairy Tale Friday I never finished because I’m lazy.)
Spinning Silver was one of my most anticipated books of the year, and it went above and beyond my expectations.  And my standards were set pretty high since Uprooted was so good.  But oh my god, this book!  This book!!!  It’s amazing.

25 days of Recsmas
Day 12: A book recommended to you
“Howls moving castle” by Diana Wynne Jones got recommended by so many of you and guess what- you all were right! It`s such a nice and charming book and it`s atmosphere is enchanting in a completely different way than it is in the movie. If you are hesitant if you want to read it (like I was before), take this as the sign to finally give it a try.

❄ Pick a season and recommend a book to go with it!
WINTER: Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust
This book is the perfect Winter read! It’s a Snow White retelling with a focus on the queen and it’s full of wonderful wintery magic.

This book, for me, is the gold standard for Witty Banter in YA. No other YA book even comes close.

25 Days of Booklr Day 11: Your favorite new book to your collection!
This year I bought myself a hardcover copy of my favorite book! Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde!
Took the photo next to one of my carnivorous plants for reasons that make sense if you’ve read it!

25 days of Booklr: Day Four - share your favorite original post.
You've probably seen this picture of mine floating around Booklr without my caption 👀. I've had huge aesthetic blogs reblog it and that largely contributed to it's popularity. It's close to 700 notes now which (though not my largest margin by a long shot) makes it my most popular Booklr post. It's simple, effective, and the floor makes it thoroughly my brand ™.

25 Days of Booklr — December 1st - December 25th
Hello, friends! The great bookish holiday event is back this year and, in my very correct opinion (because I made it), so much better! We’re celebrating the holiday season and/or closing out our bookish year for 25 whole days. What fun!
SIDE NOTE: I’M HOSTING A GIVEAWAY DURING THIS EVENT! Go Enter if you’d like :D
As per last year, this is a no-pressure event, where you can participate however you can whenever you can. Everyday participation is not required nor are you obligated to make overly complicated posts. A simple text post is enough! Or if all you can personally do is interact with others’ posts, that’s fine, too! Of course, I do encourage more creative posts (and there’s an incentive this year*!!!) like edits or moodboards (or literally anything cool you can come up with like a video or audio post) because I love creativity.
There are only two rules to participate. The first is that everything you talk about must be from 2018! The book itself could be from 1995, but if you read it within the year, it counts! If you acquired something, you must have done so in 2018. If you talk about an experience, it needs to have happened in 2018. So on, so forth. The second rule is to have fun :) If you don’t, well why are you participating? No offense but do something you like.
Tags to use are: #25DOB18 #25DOB. Be sure to tag all your posts!! It will be helpful, so I can see them and so you’re organized!
Options for participation
Celebrating all things Booklr! Info under the cut. (my recommendation ‘cause I think it’s fun, and I worked really hard on it pls)
Yearly Superlatives/”Best of...” Awards. Prompts under the cut.
Count down with your Top 25 reads of the year.
You can join Em’s (@thereadingchallengechallenge ) Recsmas :)
Do whatever the heck you want. Combine these prompts into your Franken-event or just recommend books however you see fit. You can even shit talk books for 25 days straight if you have some salt or bitterness to spend. Free range, my friend. You have all the power.
These are the prompts! :D Both options are in bullet points because I’ve decided not to correspond a prompt to a date, so you can pick and choose which prompts you want to respond to. There are more prompts than days in this event, so feel free to post more than one a day! Just don’t spam your followers… unless they want that? Who knows.
Here’s a link to a Google Drive Folder, where all the prompts are typed out for those having trouble reading the graphic. All the graphics and banners are also in there in case you want to save them for your use.
Option #1: Celebrating All Things Booklr! These are more personal, and not every prompt requires you to recommend a book. Some ask about events you participated in, bookish items you own, and more! There are a total of 31 prompts for this option. The only rule is that everything you talk about have to be specific to 2018.
Tumblr media
Option #2: Yearly Superlatives! These prompts are from last year, save for seven (7) new ones. As per the first option, this is in a bullet point list, so you can pick and choose which ones you want to respond to. Again, the only rule is that you’ve read every book you recommend within 2018. The books themselves do not have to be published in 2018.

Also here are some extra banners you could use for your posts :D I know not everyone is into pink like me lol

Day 24: What book made you think differently or had a lasting impact on you?
Is anyone here surprised?  Surely you knew there was a post coming on this one at some point.  Obviously, this is a reread (for about the millionth time).  Wuthering Heights is the single most important book in my life. I first picked it up when I was 14, and it changed my life.  I wouldn’t have devoted my time to studying literature if it weren’t for this book.  And even though I’ve read it possibly more than any other book, I continue to find new things to consider and find myself awed by the sheer power of the story on each reread.

I mean, look at the very first paragraph. This book got me hooked in a way I previously only knew from great fanfiction.

Day 7: a book that made you smile
"Bartimaeus" by Jonathan Stoud was one of my all time favourite books while growing up and made me laugh out loud countless times. I've reread the first book of the series this year and it brought back so many good memories of summers in the hammock and nights spend reading under the blankets. Those memories and the still very enjoyable story of the sassy dschinn and the nosy Natanael made me smile and grin again- like it has so many times before.
