The Disappearance of Mabel Crumback
September 29, 2023
Mabel Crumback was born in 1931 and was just 19 years old when she went missing on May 28, 1950. Mabel lived in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at 661 Willard Ave with her parents and two brothers.
The last person to have seen her alive, her boyfriend, Jim Bryan, told police he left the home at 12:30 am, after dropping Mabel off from a date they went on. Jim claimed that Mabel had indeed walked into her house.
Mabel's parents were in Detroit, Michigan, for a wedding at the time, and Mabel's brother Bruce was not home. The only other person in the house would have been Mabel's 8 year old brother, Gary.
Jim returned to the home the next day for dinner, but Mabel was nowhere to be found. Gary said he woke up Sunday morning to his sister being missing.
However, it is also reported that Gary claimed to have heard thumping noises on the floor and by the cellar stairs in the middle of the night. Gary also said he woke at 2 am and heard what he thought was a dog barking and Mabel and some mens voices.
At the same time, around 2am, neighbours reported hearing loud noises and a scream coming from the Crumback's home. Another neighbour reported they saw three strange men parked in a car in the area.
There were 2 doors to the house -- both doors were found to be unlocked and the door facing St. John Road was open as well. Mabel's mother said she would have never left the door open like that. The lights were left on in the kitchen and Mabel's room.
The investiation determined that Mabel had slept in her bed at some point that night. Mabel's father claimed she did not have any money, as a motive or a key to the house to give someone. Mabel's purse was left in her room and had money in it.
Mabel's pyjama bottoms were neatly folded under her pillow, but the pyjama top was never found. Mabel had taken a red and black plaid shirt, blue plaid skirt, and a pair of black suede shoes.
There was no evidence of a struggle or violence in the house, it's very likely that Mabel went off with someone she knew.
There have supposedly been many sightings of Mabel, though nothing has ever been confirmed. One sighting was of a young girl in distress pleading to a tourist camp operator for help in Ancaster, Ontario on June 9, 1950. The girl apparently claimed she was being forced to go with a man she did not want to go with.
The man was around 6 feet tall and had a cleft lip. The young girl had bleach blonde hair -- Mabel had black hair. Her clothing did not match was Mabel might've had with her when she disappeared. The girl also appeared to be drugged. The operator ignored her pleas for help.
Mabel's parents moved out of the house and lived in Guelph for a while, before moving again to Wellington. Both of them are deceased and it is unclear if either of Mabel's brothers are alive or where they might be.
According to some sources, over the years, Mabel's brothers' families rejected being interviewed on the manner as they wanted to forget about it.

Country music's rising star Wyatt Flores has released his new EP, "Half Life," today through Island Records. You can stream or purchase it here. Check out “Running Out Of Time” above.
Wyatt Flores has been garnering critical acclaim recently. He was the subject of an in-depth profile by journalist Josh Crutchmer in The New York Times, which highlighted Flores' unique ability to evoke deep emotional responses with his music. The article titled, “Wyatt Flores…Has a Superpower: Tapping Emotions,” notes that the 22-year-old singer-songwriter’s music profoundly impacts its listeners.
The EP "Half Life" consists of eight tracks, including the previously released "Milwaukee" and "Wish I Could Stay." The latter song was featured by Rolling Stone in their "Songs You Need To Know" list, and Billboard has praised Flores' blend of slide guitars and piano paired with his natural, conversational singing style that seamlessly transitions from rock-infused urgency to classic country twang.
This release marks a monumental year for Flores, identified by Rolling Stone as one of their 25 "Future of Music" artists. His achievements this year have significantly boosted his career trajectory. Moreover, Flores has been named Amazon’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year, featured in Spotify’s Hot Country Class of 2024 and CMT’s Listen Up roster, and made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry.
To celebrate his new music, Flores is set to lead his "Here There & Gone" tour this summer. He will perform at notable venues including The Intersection in Grand Rapids, The Windjammer on Isle of Palms, Denver's Ogden Theatre, The Knitting Factory in Boise, Ace of Spades in Sacramento for two nights, and the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. "PUNISHMENT CELLS NECESSARY AT JAIL," Toronto Star. February 28, 1913. Page 11.
---
Cannot Be Done Away With, But Some Ventilated Ones Should Be Built.
----
NEW MOSS PK. BY-LAW
----
Following the request of the city for a report on the dungeons or dark cells in Toronto Jail, Inspector R. W. Bruce Smith has reported that punishment cells for refractory prisoners cannot be done away with.
"I strongly argue that at least three properly ventilated punishment cells be provided by the Property Commissioner at an early date," says the report. "Perhaps some isolated part of the building would be used temporarily for punishment cells, and do away with having these located in the basement."
The controllers yesterday sent the report on to the Property Commissioner.
Although Works Commissioner Harris advised against giving Robert Armstrong, a civic employe, sick pay, the Board of Control this afternoon decided to give him three weeks' salary. He has been an employe of the city for twenty-eight years.
"Inasmuch as Mr. Armstrong has not been, in any sense, a permanent employee of the department, I cannot commend sick pay allowance.
"If your Board desire that men so employed be regarded as permanent, will you kindly instruct to that effect, inasmuch as it will cover over two hundred men, who will also be entitled to one-half day a week and two weeks' holidays per year."
A new by-law law will have to be passed to supply the funds for the city to buy Moss Park for $60.000. The funds were not regularly provided and the Board of Control this afternoon recommended that the matter be attended to.
The Board of Control will meet the Board of Education to discuss the Technical school plans on Wednesday morning. The board fixed the date this afternoon.
Recommendations that the proposed road through Mount Pleasant Cemetery be made straight, instead of circituous, were contained in letters from the Moore Park Ratepayers' and North End Citizen's Associations. The board will visit the cemetery and look over the situation.

IndyCar confirms 17-race calendar for 2023 season | IndyCar
IndyCar has confirmed its calendar for the 2023 season, which differs little from this year’s schedule.
It will consist of the same 17 races held this season, with a few minor date changes and one relocations.
The championship will begin on the same weekend as the 2023 Formula 1 season, with its usual curtain-raiser on the streets of St. Petersburg in Florida. The opening six rounds will be unchanged from this year, up to and including the 107th running of the centrepiece Indianapolis 500 on May 28th.
The following round will again be the Detroit Grand Prix, which is moving to a new location as revealed previously. The temporary course around Belle Isle is being replaced with a downtown street circuit incorporating some of the same roads used by F1 for its race between 1982 and 1988, before the CART IndyCar series took over the event.
The next five races are all in the same order and format as in 2022, including the double-header at Iowa which returned in 2022. However the Nashville street circuit will hold round 13 as the second race at the Indianapolis road course has moved back two weeks from July into August, as the series continues to share the event with NASCAR.
Just like this year, the season will end at Laguna Seca in the second week of September.

Statistics from LC IG account: Year 2016
I am going to share some data and observations and ask questions.
Liz has 402 posts in 240 days. Started counting from start of filming of CMBYN to year end. Her/their life is an open book. She posts almost daily.
Travel: They are absolute road warriors. On the road constantly. They/Liz go to Dallas/Denver constantly. Sometimes for a week or longer. Sometimes in and out in 2 days or over a weekend. It is nothing for them to hop on a plane and fly anywhere in the US for a couple days. Which made me think the boys probably see each other a lot more than we know about. In and out of cities to reconnect and get some lovin.
Travel Breakdown:
May 5-11 - Italy, Munich, Milan, Zurich, Crema; May 24-30 - San Antonio; June 1-21 - Crema, Sirimone, Bergamo, Milan; June 26-July 4 - St. Tropez, Monaco, Cannes (vacation); July 15-17 - Toronto; July 21-24 - Dallas; July 30-August 1 - Denver; August 4-6 - Dallas; August 19-September 3 - Australia (Armie filming Hotel Mumbai); September 8-12 - Toronto for TIFF; September 15-16 - Dallas; September 26-29 - Dallas/Denver; October 2-6 - NYC; October 11-18 - London; October 25-30 - Dallas/Denver; November 3-5 - NYC; November 8-9 - San Antonio; November 14-December 2 - Dallas.
1. I was surprised to see that Liz and Armie both posted they were having a mini vacation in Palm Springs from April 26-28 before Armie left for Italy. Principle photography started May 9. Village scenes were shot May 17 and 19. Crema filming began June 1. I was thinking Armie said he was out there 3 weeks early with Timmy getting to know him but not sure about the math on this.
2. I was surprised to see Liz in Italy for so many weeks during CMBYN filming. She was there at the beginning but then from at least June 1-18. She whisked Armie away for a weekend in Milan for their anniversary. I was thinking Armie and Timmy were alone the whole time. It appears Liz was on set when they filmed the “truce” scene in Sirimone; she was at the lake at some point where E & O go for a swim after the midnight scene; and she was on site when they shot the waterfall scene at the end. I am hoping she was not there during the kiss of a lifetime.
3. On June 4 she posted that Sundays are family Vespa days. 😏
4. Liz was busy in 2016 with Food TV appearances and opening up Bird Bakery in Dallas. Armie had lots of press and filming - birth of a nation, nocturnal animals, hotel Mumbai, Free Fire.
5. Armie is a doting father and there are countless, beautiful pictures of him with Harper.
6. There are quite a few pictures posted of Armie with Niki and Ashton. Niki also made a surprise visit down to Dallas to check out the bakery.
7. Liz and Armie were both in NYC on October 2-6. That’s when the paps shot those pics of Armie and Timothee walking down the street. On that trip, Armie and Liz strolled through Central Park which gave me the chills knowing about the poem Armie recited to Timmy in Central Park this past spring.
8. Timmy liked 23 of Liz’s IG posts during this time period. Most of them in June/July and having to do with CMBYN and Italy and then a few in August/October/December. He liked pics with Armie, Armie and his friends, Armie and Harper, Italy, the GQ event in Dec and the opening of the Dallas bakery.
9. Liz does not know Armie’s name. He is HUSBAND.
10. Overall thoughts: Armie and Timmy fell for each other while filming CMBYN and this is well documented. Liz was pregnant from when they met through year end. I cannot even imagine the conflict felt both by Armie and Timmy during 2016. Armie had an awakening but he also had a son on the way. That was the practical reality. And he loves being a father and it looks like he was excited to be a dad again. He was probably torn apart. I can only imagine the heartbreak Timmy felt watching Armie’s life play out on Instagram over this year. I was especially thinking about the friends trip Liz and Armie took to Cannes/Saint Tropez/Monoco right after CMBYN filming wrapped. Timmy went back to NYC sad and lonely and watched gorgeous Armie diving off boats into the Mediterranean without him.
Moving onto 2017. Please let me know questions you have. What details you want. Share your thoughts. Let me know if you want the data presented in a different way. I am typing this on my phone so I apologize in advance for typos or spacing issues.

(A/n: this might be a little biased since I’m in love with this man & I’m basing the relationship parts of this on my mc/myself so hope y’all don’t mind 😬)
IG info/bio: @/lucas.koh | 93.1k followers | for business inquires please visit: kohptr.com
LUCAS KOH —
27 (28) years old
From Oxford, England
Father is Korean & a car salesman at a Nissan dealership, he’s a strict/serious man who has high morals but beyond that he can actually be a softie in rare moments (+ that’s who Lucas gets his height from 🤤)
Mother is actually Chinese but lived in Korea studying abroad and eventually became a successful chiropractor (s/o to doctor mondragon on YouTube who I watch to help me sleep some nights and wish I could see! Lol) with her own practice. She’s a firecracker, intelligent, and quick to say what’s on her mind and doesn’t care if you like what she’s got to say. Most patients like that about her, she’s honest and her family is used to her ways but in the same way it’s more loving than offensive? (Smol woman but will remind you when she’s cracking your body she’s got enough power in her)
Either he’s a only child or he comes from a family of all boys with two younger brothers (they’re all in their 20’s) or he has one younger brother and one younger sister idk you decide
I’m feeling like he’s a Sagittarius? Carefree in the terms of he wasn’t viewing finally getting with MC when she’s dating someone else as cheating. Mans was READY to risk it all for me okay and I was down for it but ofc I had to react realistically and NOT “cheat.” *sigh* one part of me was debating ‘are we really dating tho bobby? We’re on reality tv. We’re not gonna die without each other if we hang out in seperate rooms’ *cough* Nope. but I’m a woman about her loyalty
He’s definitely adventurous. I don’t see him as the type to want to stay home all the time even tho his work definitely keeps him busy/exhausted. He’s down for road trips 💯
Occupation? Physicotherapist. His mother inspired him to get into the field and watching sports + the way players got their injuries always intrigued him? So to provide the best plan to have someone heal was something he loved to do plus being hands on while teaching/helping was a passion for him + I feel like he would also use a massaging technique instead of the usual exercise part of it
Now as someone who suffered a ACL & Mensicus tear & is STILL dealing with this BS pain years later, I would be so thankful to have him around! I feel like he’d have a optimistic attitude towards his patients and that’s what people need not someone that’s insensitive (like my surgeon/PT’s I had)
He models from time to time, when he was first approached about it he was upfront about not wanting to do it. It was much different than getting your picture taken for the office. That’s usually quick, the whole modeling process felt longer but somehow he was talked into it by his brother who’s a photographer and his mother. “Do you think you’re ugly? ‘Cause I’m not and you’re a part of me, so therefore there’s no such thing. Just look at your cheekbones, your jawline! I gave you those. The only good thing your father gave you was height.” Which filled the house with snickers while Lucas’ father just rolled his eyes and continued reading his newspaper for breakfast
Has a motorcycle and some luxurious car—not a Tesla those are basic now 🤷🏽♀️
Loves his motorcycle so much he’s got a tat of it on his right bicep
He has two available parking spaces in his parking garage at his penthouse but keeps his bike away in a storage unit due to a neighbor scratching it after his girlfriend broke up with him? Saying she was off to date Lucas? But that wasn’t true at all. He barely knew the girl, they didn’t live on the same floor. People were crazy but if you push him his temper might come out
Owns a leather jacket that he paid a lot for
Believes in “treat yo self” if it means in quality when shopping and has no issue being a big spender but he knows how to manage it well (his father told him all about how his own father dealt with bankruptcy)
Since he’s often at the office the whole day, he’s usually a night owl. He loves night drives and night dining. That’s usually when he finds the best places to eat
There’s this one pho spot that he loves and it’s his go to spot when he wants something quick on the way home
Cannot sleep with his entire body covered in covers, either his arms/shoulders have to be out or his legs, which would be a issue for me/mc since I sleep with the covers over my entire body...yes even in hot weather with the AC cranked up😂
He also makes great kimchi fried rice & loves Italian food
Will wine and dine. I believe it. I envision it! He loves going out on dates with his significant other (If he’s single and not with me, I think he’d try out speed dating)
Will dress to impress, will buy you a new fit he wants to see you/us/mc in especially if it’s your anniversary
Loves taking bubble bath’s with infused oils or flower petals with significant other
He’s the type that takes long showers & it brings him a true sense of freedom. He’s never able to take a quick shower, he gets lost in his ideas of what to do next in this world & it’s limitless
If he’s in for the day, which usually doesn’t last long—he’s either in sweats or in a robe all day
Only drives his bike on the weekend or if he’s going out of town but if he’s going on a trip for a couple of days with MC & if she’s got a bit of anxiety like me? He’ll stick to his car to make them comfortable
I feel like he enjoys the winter season. Maybe if it’s a slushy rainy winter more than a blizzards/snowy season. He loves bundling up, much to people’s surprise. He’s more than just his good looks and body love island fans!!!
Doesn’t post much on his socials. If you need to see what he’s about then you should do so in person or already know who he is. The internet can’t tell you much, in his opinion
Keeps himself in good health, I mean duh what kind of PT would he be 😉 goes on night jogs with reflector clothes on & occasionally morning jogs & at home workouts
Probably will date someone younger than him. Not by much, I don’t think he can take immaturity well. (That maybe how he views it) The most is 4 years younger than him
Henrik is his best bud from the show. They hang out all the time, crash at each other’s places, and vacation together all the time. They will be each other’s future best men forsure
Doesn’t go out of his way to talk to the rest of the guys from the show but if he happens to browse his feed and sees something he wants to comment on then he’ll carry a conversation of course
Far as the girls? He talks to Hannah & Priya from time to time. He also follows Hope and they like each other’s posts but not much communication is there either?
Either has a mint or black phone case, probably a Samsung galaxy user
Likes pistachio frozen yogurt but he’s lactose & doesn’t want to believe it :(
Smokes cigars when he’s out with his boys
Has a tight knit group of friends, majority of them are from the medical field since they all went to uni together + most of them are also married so the pressure is so on
*He’s the oldest out of his sibs so according to his parents he’s expected to be married first yet his baby sis is engaged and she’s 23*
wants a family...eventually. Probably will happen in his early thirties? The max for children is 2 for him. He knows they can be a HANDFUL due to his own friends who have kids + he’s a godfather and he’s babysat before so he knows how it goes!
enjoys his freedom as stated which further proves he’s a sag lol
Enjoys going to saunas to cleanse his pores/ get rid of toxins. It’s the easiest way for him to do so even tho his brother clowns him for it
His love language is deff physical touch. He loves hugs and resting his chin on top of your head, forehead to forehead, his nose pressed in between the space of your neck and shoulder, gentle squeezes, sitting next to each other with your legs touching, cuddling, sleeping on top of you or you on him, etc
He loves kissing. It’s automatic for him and it can also easily rile him up
Has strong opinions & will show them but will feel like he’s being attacked if it brings on a confrontation/argument
Will forgive and forget
Plays strategy board games
Makes his own natural healing creams & gives samples to his patients depending on their needs
His fav colors are: blue, white, & grey
Will grow a bit of facial hair in the cooler months if it’ll make mc happy (I’m a sucker for facial hair but hate it on myself lmao) but if he dislikes the feeling on his face he will shave and finds he likes a shaven face better, the facial hair makes him look a bit older—which is okay but that’s just his preference
When he stops putting gel in his hair/styling his hair in a quiff hairstyle it shocks fans with mc commenting on one of his pics, “you’re welcome x”
Likes going to the Hard Rock Cafe on causal weekends
also likes getting freaky in public, down for whatever 🤪
He’s a traveler so if he leaves the UK, I’m seeing him land in Toronto, Canada first and falling in love with it. I feel he would vibe well with the culture there, might even consider getting a vacation home in that location
Celeb crushes? Anne Hathaway, Beyoncé, Lupita Nyong'o, Anna Diop, Imaan Hammam, Jodie Comer, Megan Fox, Shay Mitchell, & Cassie Ventura Fine
Oh Lucas. I feel like we have similar tastes? Somewhat. He probably listens to more rock than I do? Maybe 80s rock moreso? & He listens to: WALK THE MOON, Allen Stone (his fav) , Emily king, Gavin Turek, Melanie Fiona, THEY., DPR live, & Sik-k
Anthem = Young the Giant, “Something to believe in”

46 The Daytrippers (96)
47 Experiment in Terror (62)
48 Tucker: The Man and His Dream (88)

74 The Reader (08)
75 Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (19) This was fine until it VERY MUCH WAS NOT FINE
76 The End of the Affair (99) you try to watch a fun little romp about infidelity during the Blitz, and Graham Greene can’t help but shoehorn in a friggin crisis of religious faith
77 Must Love Dogs (05) barely any dog content, where are the dogs at
78 The Rainmaker (97)
79 *Batman & Robin (97)
80 National Lampoon’s Vacation (83) Never seen any of the non-xmas Vacations, didn’t realize the children are totally different, not just actors but ages! Also, this one is blatantly racist!

128 Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (67)
129 The Pelican Brief (93) 90s thrillers continue!
130 Dick Johnston is Dead (20)
131 The Bridges of Madison County (95)
132 Earth Girls are Easy (88) Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum are so hot in this movie, no wonder they got married
133 Better Watch Out (16)
134 Drowning Mona (00) trying for something like the Coen bros and not getting there
135 Au Revoir Les Enfants (87)
136 *Chasing Amy (97) Affleck is the least alluring movie lead...ever? I also think I gave Joey Lauren Adams’ character short shrift in my memory of the movie. It’s not good, but she’s more complicated than I recalled.
137 Blackkklansman (18)
138 Being Frank (19)
139 Kiki’s Delivery Service (89)
140 Uncle Frank (20) why so many FRANKS
141 *National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (89) watching with pals (virtually) made it so much more fun than the usual yearly watch!
142 Half Baked (98) another, more secret Toronto nostalgia pic - RC Harris water filtration plant as a prison!
143 We’re the Millers (13)
144 All is Bright (13)
145 Defending Your Life (91)
146 Christmas Chronicles (18) I maintain that most new xmas movies are terrible, particularly now that Netflix churns them out like eggnog every year.
147 Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse (18)
148 Reindeer Games (00) what did I say about Affleck??!? WHAT DID I SAY
149 Palm Springs (20)
150 Happiest Season (20)
151 *Metropolitan (90) it’s definitely a Christmas movie
152 Black Christmas (74)
THEATRE:HOME - 2:150 (thanks pandemic)
I usually separate out docs and fiction, but I watched almost no documentaries this year (with the exception of Dick Johnston). Reality is real enough.
TV Series
01 - BoJack Horseman (final season) - Pretty damned poignant finish to the show, replete with actual consequences for our reformed bad boy protagonist (which is more than you can say for most antiheroes of Peak TV).
02 - *Hello Ladies - I enjoy the pure awkwardness of seeing Stephen Merchant try to perform being a Regular Person, but ultimately this show tips him too far towards a nasty, Ricky Gervais-lite sort of persona. Perhaps he was always best as a cameo appearance, or lip synching with wild eyes while Chrissy Teigen giggles?
03 - Olive Kittredge - a rough watch by times. I read the book as well, later in the year. Frances Mcdormand was the best, possibly the only, casting option for the flinty lead. One episode tips into thriller territory, which is a shock.
04 - *The Wire S3, S4, S5 - lockdown culture! It was interesting to rewatch this, then a few months later go through an enormous, culture-level reappraisal of cop-centred narratives.
05 - Forever - a Maya Rudolph/Fred Armisen joint that coasts on the charm of its leads. The premise is OK, but I wasn’t left wanting any more at the end.
06 - *Catastrophe - a rewatch when my partner decided he wanted to see it, too!
07 - Red Oak - resolutely “OK” steaming dramedy, relied heavily on some pretty obvious cues to get across its 1980s setting.
08 - Little Fires Everywhere - gulped this one down while in 14-day isolation, delicious! Every 90s suburban mom had that SUV, but not all of them had the requisite **secrets**
09 - The Great - fun historical comedy/drama! Costumes: lush. Actors: amusing. Race-blind casting: refreshing!
10 - The Crown S4 - this is the season everyone lost their everloving shit for, since it’s finally recent enough history that a fair chunk of the viewing audience is liable to recall it happening.
11 - Ted Lasso - we resisted this one for a while (thought I did enjoy the ad campaign for NBC sports (!!) that it was based on). My view is that its best point was the comfort that the men on the show have (or develop, throughout the season) with the acknowledgement and sharing of their own feelings. Masculinity redux.
12 - Moonbase 8 - Goodnatured in a way that makes you certain they will be crushed.
13 - The Good Lord Bird - Ethan Hawke is really aging into the character actor we always hoped he would be!
14 - Hollywood - frothy wish-fulfillment alternate history. I think the show would have been improved immeasurably by skipping the final episode.

I was bored so I looked up and there is a place in Mississauga, ON, Canada that is c***lla so it double L but it’s a road, a place and a park? Its 28 mins away from Toronto and 40+ from Pickering and yeah I was bored but that literally is the shittiest story about signs. He could’ve just said he turn the radio on and it was her song playing but oh well they want to be clowns instead

Carried over from the original creator and curator, @balletfever89. Links to her original Post-Sochi timeline and her Post-Comeback timeline, as well as the original version of this timeline, Post-PyeongChang. Some of the dates may be slightly off, as I'm looking backwards at blogs instead of keeping up as things happen.
