Biden is busy doing the people's business
June 5, 2024
ROBERT B. HUBBELL
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, President Biden has been busy doing the people’s business. On Tuesday, he signed an executive order that suspends the asylum process when “encounters” with immigrants illegally crossing the border surpasses 2500 per day. Biden’s effort was born of frustration. Congress was within days of passing a bipartisan immigration and border security bill in May when Convicted Felon Trump ordered the GOP to kill the bill to preserve immigration as an issue in the 2024 election.
In issuing the order, Biden relied on the same theory of executive power that Trump invoked when he sought to ban travel from majority-Muslim nations. The ACLU plans to sue the Biden administration to overturn the executive order.
The details of the order are here: FACT SHEET: President Biden Announces New Actions to Secure the Border | The White House. For a description of how the plan will work in. practice, see How Biden's new order to halt asylum at the US border is supposed to work | AP News.
As expected, the proposal did not satisfy everyone in the Democratic Party. See WaPo, Democrats divided over Biden’s immigration executive order. (Accessible to everyone.)
Biden issued a statement with the executive order, saying, in part,
I would have preferred to address our issues at the border through bipartisan legislation because that’s the only way to actually fix our broken system – But Republicans in Congress have left me no choice. So today, I’m announcing actions that bar migrants who cross our southern border unlawfully from receiving asylum – unless they seek it after entering through established lawful processes.
Biden also listed recent actions to address immigration and border security:
Strengthening the asylum screening process
New docket to address cases and make asylum decisions within 6 months versus 6 years
Revoking visas of CEOs and government officials who profit from the exploitation of vulnerable migrants
Expanding efforts to dismantle human smuggling and support immigration prosecutions
Enhancing immigration enforcement
Seizing fentanyl at our border
As President Biden is trying to solve the challenges at our southern border, he is also actively pressuring both Israel and Hamas to reach a complete cease fire that results in the release of all hostages. See ABC News, Biden takes a big swing at hostage-for-truce deal, puts onus on Israeli, Hamas officials to step up.
As noted in the ABC article, President Biden’s strategy is an aggressive approach to an intractable problem. Per ABC,
White House officials on Monday said Biden's decision to make public what it describes as an Israeli proposal — just one day after it was delivered to Hamas — was driven by a desire to put Hamas on the spot. The move diverged from the U.S. administration's position throughout the conflict to allow the Israelis to speak for themselves about hostage negotiations. [¶] “This wasn't about jamming the prime minister, the war cabinet,” [National Security Advisor Spokesperson John] Kirby said. “This was about laying bare for the public to see how well and how faithfully and how assertively the Israelis came up with a new proposal. It shows how much they really want to get this done."
Finally, Biden sat down with Time Magazine’s Washington Bureau Chief (on 5/28) for an on-the-record, full-transcript interview. See Time Magazine, President Biden on World Leadership, War, and 2024 Election. Overall, the tone of the interview is begrudgingly respectful toward President Biden. But as with most political discussions today, it normalizes Convicted Felon Trump by discussing his policy positions as if they are not the product of a criminal who attempted a coup and incited an insurrection.
Per the Time interview,
Biden’s record in facing these tests is more than just nostalgic talk. He has added two powerful European militaries to NATO, and will soon announce the doubling of the number of countries in the Atlantic alliance that are paying more than the target 2% of their GDP toward defense, the White House says. His Administration has worked to prevent the war in Gaza from igniting a broader regional conflict. He brokered the first trilateral summit with long-distrustful regional partners South Korea and Japan, and coaxed the Philippines to move away from Beijing’s orbit and accept four new U.S. military bases. He has rallied European and Asian countries to curtail China’s economic sway. “We have put together the strongest alliance in the history of the world,” Biden says, so that “we are able to move in a way that recognizes how much the world has changed and still lead.”
While the Time interviewer noted Biden’s “stiff gait” and “fitful syntax” (a product of his lifelong stutter), the sweep of the interview, Biden’s command of the facts, and the breadth of his career clearly impressed the author. Read the article—all of it. You will be impressed (again) by the remarkable career and accomplishments of Joe Biden.

The shameful Vietnam War policy that recruited low-IQ men to die for their country
Louis H. Pumphrey (Opinion)
Published: May. 26, 2019, 5:28 a.m.
SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- As we approach Memorial Day honoring our war dead, take a few minutes to reflect on our government’s most sordid, disgraceful, unconscionable, ignoble and shameful policy during the Vietnam War: The Johnson administration’s “Project 100,000” program instituted in October 1966, which involved the drafting of low-IQ men as the war escalated. Of the 58,220 of our military who died in Vietnam, 5,478 mentally deficient servicemen were killed, most in combat.
The latter statistic was provided in the Fall 2017 edition of The Veteran, a publication of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, in a story written by Hamilton Gregory, author of “McNamara’s Folly: The Use of Low-IQ Troops in the Vietnam War.”
Gregory enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduation from college. While at an armed forces induction center in Nashville, Tennessee, a sergeant ordered him to “take charge” of Johnny Gupton (not his real name). The sergeant instructed Gregory to “go with him every step of the way” during their basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia.
The sergeant said Gupton could not read or write and would require assistance in completing documents at Fort Benning. Then the sergeant said, “Make sure he doesn’t get lost. He’s one of McNamara’s morons.”
Gupton was among men with low IQs drafted in a program that resulted in the addition of 354,000 low-IQ men into the armed forces, with 71 percent sent into the U.S. Army; the Navy and Marines each getting 10 percent; and 9 percent going into the Air Force, according to Gregory.
The reason, as you might imagine, was that President Lyndon B. Johnson and Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara were “desperate for warm bodies,” wrote Gregory. Earlier, the draftees had failed the mental acuity test administered by the military and therefore had been out of reach of the draft, but the Johnson administration changed that policy.
The program also encompassed not only those with below-normal IQs, but also men with other mental or physical disabilities. There was a higher number of volunteer recruits in the program compared to the number of draftees, according to a RAND Corp. study of the strategy. Further, the endeavor, in addition to being applied to those who had failed mental acuity tests, also included men who had been unable to meet other eligibility criteria.
Gregory reported that, when he was on his way to Fort Benning with Gupton, he asked his charge what state he was from and Gupton said he did not know. Gupton, Gregory wrote, was unaware the United States was at war, had no understanding of basic training, did not know his left from his right and had to be taught how to tie his boots.
Gupton survived his tour in Vietnam because a sergeant took him under his wing, putting him in noncombat jobs. (The sergeant grew up with a sister who he said was “mentally handicapped,” and was sympathetic to Gupton’s condition.)
One of the low-IQ fatalities, Gregory noted, was a nephew of combat veteran Barry Romo. The nephew, Robert, was in Vietnam for part of the time Romo served as a platoon leader. Romo was very worried about his kin, who he said was “like a brother,” because the new draftee was to be trained as an infantryman at Fort Lewis, Washington.
Gregory reported that a contingent of the nephew’s family, along with Fort Lewis recruits, officers and sergeants, wrote to the military base’s commanding general pleading that the recruit be spared combat duty because, as one relative wrote, “he would die.”
The general refused to budge.
Romo’s nephew was sent to Vietnam and was in combat close to the border between South and North Vietnam -- an especially dangerous area. While on a patrol and attempting to aid a wounded soldier, Robert was shot in the neck. Intense gunfire prevented a medic from treating Robert and he “drowned in his own blood,” said Romo.
The army gave Romo permission to accompany the sealed aluminum casket with Robert’s remains to Rialto, California, for his funeral. Romo said in a speech several years later that his nephew’s family never recovered from his death, which “almost destroyed us with anger and sorrow.”
Gregory concluded his story in The Veteran with a quote from Joseph Galloway, a war correspondent: “The Good Book says we must forgive those who trespass against us -- but what about those who trespass against the most helpless among us: those willing to conscript the mentally handicapped, the most innocent, and turn them into cannon fodder?”
Drafted in 1966, Louis H. Pumphrey was a reporter, then editor, for the U.S. Army’s 1st Infantry Division newspaper in Vietnam from July 1967 to July 1968. He is a member of Chapter 39 of Veterans for Peace, based at a Cleveland Heights church.

Insights into MAT Cut Off for Top MBA Colleges 2025
The MAT cut off for top MBA colleges 2025 is a pivotal factor in determining your eligibility for admission into leading B-Schools. The cut-off represents the minimum percentile or score required to advance to the next stage of the admission process, which often includes group discussions (GD), personal interviews (PI), and written ability tests (WAT). Cut-offs vary across colleges based on factors like the number of applicants, exam difficulty, and the institute’s reputation.
While exact cut-offs for 2025 will be announced after the exam, historical trends offer a general idea:
Top-Tier Colleges (90+ Percentile): Institutes such as Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME), Bangalore, and Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Nagpur, typically require a MAT percentile of 90 or above.
Mid-Tier Colleges (70–90 Percentile): Colleges like Jaipuria Institute of Management (Lucknow) and Christ University (Bangalore) often set cut-offs between the 70th and 90th percentiles.
Other Reputed Colleges (50–70 Percentile): Institutes such as Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM), Pune, and PUMBA (University of Pune) may accept percentiles between 50 and 70.
The MAT cut off for top MBA colleges 2025 can also vary based on the candidate’s category (General, OBC, SC/ST), with reserved categories often having slightly lower cut-offs. In today's quick-paced e-commerce scene, choosing the best Shopify development team can make or break your online store. With so many Shopify experts out there, how can you tell the top-notch ones from the decent—or even the sketchy ones?
In this article, we’ve done the legwork for you.
We went deep—reviewing portfolios, speaking with business owners, analyzing public feedback, and even evaluating backend Shopify site performance. What did we find? A small group of standout companies that not only offer top Shopify website development services but also consistently deliver measurable results.
Let’s explore the proof—and the profiles—of what might just be the best Shopify development companies on the planet.
What Sets the Best Shopify Development Companies Apart?
Before we get into specific names, we should answer a key question: How do we define "best" in this situation?
It’s not just about slick designs or high-profile clients. The top Shopify developers consistently deliver in five critical areas:
Performance Optimization—Fast-loading, mobile-friendly, SEO-optimized Shopify stores.
Conversion-Centered Design—Websites built to not just look good but convert visitors into buyers.
Customization Capability—Not just cookie-cutter themes, but tailored solutions that reflect brand identity.
End-to-End Services—From design to custom app development, integration, and long-term support.
Proven ROI—Tangible business impact: more sales, higher AOV (average order value), reduced bounce rates.
So, which companies are actually doing this?
1. Tako Agency—Shopify Experts Who Think Like Business Owners
Headquarters: Dallas, TX Founded: 2017 Client Example: The Clear Cut, &Collar, Elevé Cosmetics
Tako Agency isn’t just a Shopify development shop—they’re strategic partners. What sets them apart is their hybrid approach: half brand strategists, half technical wizards.
Why They Stand Out:
Data-Driven UX: They constantly A/B test layouts and product pages to boost conversion rates.
Content & CRO Specialists: Few agencies combine Shopify website development services with storytelling, copywriting, and conversion strategy like Tako does.
Clear Client Wins: For &Collar, they redesigned the PDP (Product Detail Page), leading to a 28% increase in conversions within 60 days.
“They don’t just take instructions—they push back, ask tough questions, and get us results.” — Client testimonial from Elevé Cosmetics CEO
2. We Make Websites—Design-Forward Shopify Plus Partners
Headquarters: London & New York Founded: 2009 Client Example: Hasbro, Pangaia, Bombas
If aesthetics matter to your brand, We Make Websites should be on your radar. As a Shopify Plus partner, they handle large-scale migrations, headless builds, and fully custom storefronts.
Why They Stand Out:
Global eCommerce Experience: They specialize in high-volume brands with international reach.
Performance Obsessed: Average mobile site speed scores of 90+ on Lighthouse.
Enterprise-Ready Builds: They architect scalable, API-integrated Shopify solutions that go beyond off-the-shelf themes.
Proof Point: Pangaia saw a 47% lift in mobile revenue post-launch after switching to a headless Shopify setup built by WMW.
3. Pointer Creative—Boutique Shopify Design & Dev with Heart
Headquarters: Toronto, Canada Founded: 2010 Client Example: Blume, Knix, Poppy Barley
Pointer Creative is smaller than the others on this list, but their work punches above their weight. They blend Shopify development with strong brand storytelling—making them ideal for lifestyle and DTC brands.
Why They Stand Out:
Design-Led Builds: Every site feels like an editorial experience.
Custom Theme Development: They don’t rely on templates.
Ongoing Support Plans: Post-launch care is where Pointer shines—they act like an extension of your team.
Client Result: Poppy Barley credited Pointer’s rebuild with a 34% increase in time-on-site and lower cart abandonment.
4. Arctic Grey—High-Converting Shopify Plus Stores for Ambitious Brands
Headquarters: New York, NY Founded: 2015 Client Example: MVMT Watches, Levi’s, Peepers
Arctic Grey focuses heavily on conversion rate optimization through Shopify. They use heatmaps, scroll tracking, and real-time analytics to shape their dev strategy.
Why They Stand Out:
CRO + UX at Core: They redesign PDPs, navigation, and checkout flows based on real user data.
App Development Muscle: Need a custom loyalty app or quiz funnel? They build proprietary tools.
Lightning Turnaround: Known for fast project timelines without compromising quality.
Tip: If you’re aiming for Shopify Plus and want revenue-focused thinking from day one, Arctic Grey is a strong contender.
5. Metacake—Shopify Developers Who Focus on Revenue First
Headquarters: Franklin, TN Founded: 2012 Client Example: Groove Life, Fitbit, Tony Robbins
Metacake is more than a Shopify development agency—they’re revenue engineers. Every build is approached with a singular question: How will this make the client more money?
Why They Stand Out:
Full-Funnel Strategy: Site design, email automation, landing pages, and paid ads all under one roof.
Ecom Mentorship: They teach clients the why, not just the how.
Revenue Benchmarks: They track AOV, LTV, and ROAS—every Shopify decision is tied to a metric.
Client Win: Groove Life scaled from $5M to $40M+ in annual sales, with Shopify at the center, developed and optimized by Metacake.
How to Choose the Right Shopify Development Company for You

Even among the elite, fit matters more than fame. Here’s how to choose a partner who’ll deliver—not just a website, but real results.
Key Questions to Ask Before Hiring:
What’s your process for increasing conversions?
How do you approach mobile optimization and page speed?
Can I see examples of Shopify builds in my industry?
What ongoing support do you offer after launch?
How do you measure success for your clients?
Green Flags:
Strategic consultation before quoting
Proof of real results, not just pretty mockups
Transparent pricing and timelines
Direct access to developers and designers
Real Talk: Can’t I Just Use a Pre-Made Theme?
You can—and for some early-stage businesses, that might be enough. But here’s the thing:
Pre-made themes often lack custom UX elements proven to increase conversions.
They usually load slower due to unnecessary code.
You may struggle with brand differentiation if 500 other stores use the same layout.
Hiring a top Shopify development team isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about building a growth engine tailored to your business.
Final Verdict: So, Are These Really the Best?
Yes—and no.
Yes, because each of these Shopify development companies has a proven record of excellence, a portfolio of successful builds, and clients who sing their praises.
But no, because the “best” agency is the one that understands your business, your goals, and your customers. That might be a big-name firm—or a boutique studio that just gets you.
The bottom line? The companies on this list aren’t just developers. They’re Shopify strategists, revenue consultants, and growth enablers.
And that’s what makes them the best—not just on paper, but in practice.

Experience & Impact: Classroom management, curriculum development, student engagement.
Soft Skills: Communication, empathy, leadership, adaptability.
Results: Metrics like student performance improvement, standardized test scores, or parent satisfaction.
📌 Pro Tip: Use your resume to answer one key question: "Why should we hire you over others?"
2. Start with a Strong Resume Summary
Your summary is your elevator pitch. In 2–4 lines, clearly state who you are, what you bring to the table, and your key accomplishments. It sets the tone for the rest of the resume.
Example:
Dedicated and passionate elementary school teacher with over 5 years of experience designing innovative lesson plans, improving student literacy by 35%, and fostering inclusive classrooms. Certified in K–6 education and bilingual instruction.
Make sure your summary is tailored to the role and includes terms found in the job description.
3. Choose the Right Format for Your Teaching Resume
There are three main types of resume formats:
Chronological (best for those with consistent teaching experience)
Functional (ideal for career changers or those with gaps)
Combination (a hybrid format for showing both skills and work history)
For most educators, the chronological format is recommended, as it highlights progression and stability in the education field.
4. Highlight Key Sections and What to Include
A. Contact Information
Simple but essential. Include:
Full Name
Professional Email
Phone Number
LinkedIn profile (if updated)
Optional: Personal teaching website or portfolio
B. Resume Summary
As discussed above—keep it crisp and tailored.
C. Work Experience
List your experience in reverse chronological order. For each role, include:
Job Title
Institution Name
Dates of Employment
3–5 bullet points highlighting accomplishments
Example Bullets:
Designed and implemented differentiated instruction strategies for 30+ students, resulting in a 20% increase in engagement.
Led a school-wide literacy initiative that improved average reading scores by 15%.
D. Education
Degree(s) earned
Institution(s)
Graduation year(s)
Relevant coursework (if you're a new grad)
E. Certifications & Licenses
Include any relevant teaching licenses or certifications:
State Teaching License
TESOL, TEFL, or ESL Certification
CPR or First Aid (if relevant for younger students)
F. Skills
Use a mix of hard and soft skills:
Classroom Management
Lesson Planning
Google Classroom / EdTech Tools
Conflict Resolution
Parent-Teacher Communication
5. Use Action Verbs and Quantifiable Achievements
Stand out by using action verbs and measurable results. Instead of saying:
❌ "Responsible for managing classrooms." Say: ✅ "Managed classrooms of up to 28 students, reducing behavioral incidents by 40% through proactive engagement."
This small shift makes your resume more compelling and evidence-based.
6. Tailor Every Resume for the Job You’re Applying For
Yes, it takes a bit more time—but tailoring your resume to each job description can significantly increase your chances of landing an interview.
Mirror keywords used in the job listing.
Align your achievements with the school’s mission or educational philosophy.
Use teacher resume examples from real job ads to model your structure and wording.
7. Optimize Your Resume for ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems)
Most schools use Applicant Tracking Systems to scan resumes before a human ever sees them. Here’s how to beat the bots:
Use standard headings: Experience, Education, Skills
Avoid fancy graphics or columns
Use teacher resume examples that are ATS-friendly
Save as a Word doc or PDF, depending on the application guidelines
8. Common Mistakes to Avoid
❌ Spelling and grammatical errors ❌ Using vague statements without results ❌ Listing duties instead of accomplishments ❌ Overloading with irrelevant information ❌ Neglecting soft skills or certifications
A polished resume reflects your professionalism. Always proofread and, if possible, have a peer or mentor review it.
9. Use Proven Teacher Resume Examples for Inspiration
Don’t start from scratch—leverage proven teacher resume examples that have helped real educators land jobs. Look for templates that include:
Modern, clean layouts
Built-in keyword suggestions
Example summaries and bullet points
ATS compatibility
Platforms like Indeed, Zety, or Canva offer excellent starter templates. But remember: always customize them to reflect your unique skills and experience.
Conclusion: Ready to Get Hired? Your Resume Is the First Step
A teaching job isn't just about qualifications—it's about how effectively you present yourself on paper. With the right formatting, keywords, structure, and inspiration from top teacher resume examples, you can write a resume that doesn’t just get noticed—it gets interviews.

Firoze Kohli on Building High-Impact Digital Campaigns
In a saturated digital marketplace where consumers are exposed to thousands of messages daily, capturing attention — and sustaining it — requires more than just creative flair. It demands strategy, precision, and adaptability. Few understand this better than Firoze Kohli, a seasoned marketing strategist and digital visionary known for building campaigns that not only go viral — but also deliver tangible, lasting business results.
In this feature, Firoze Kohli shares his approach to crafting high-impact digital campaigns, revealing the building blocks behind some of his most successful brand transformations.
Start with Purpose, Not Platforms
According to Firoze Kohli, one of the biggest mistakes marketers make is jumping straight into execution without clarity of purpose. “You don’t start with Instagram or YouTube. You start with ‘Why are we doing this?’ and ‘What problem are we solving?’” he explains.
For Kohli, every successful digital campaign begins with a strong strategic foundation — understanding the brand’s voice, defining the audience personas, and setting campaign goals tied directly to business outcomes (not just likes or clicks).
Audience Insights Drive Everything
“Data is your best creative partner,” says Firoze Kohli. He believes high-impact campaigns are born from a deep understanding of audience behavior, motivations, and media consumption habits.
Using advanced tools for social listening, analytics, and A/B testing, Kohli and his teams build detailed customer journey maps that reveal when, where, and how to reach target audiences effectively. This data is then used to tailor content — from ad copy to video storytelling — that speaks directly to real needs and emotions.
“Your message should feel like it was written just for them — because it was,” he adds.
Creativity Meets Performance
While strategy and data are crucial, Firoze Kohli is quick to emphasize that creativity remains the soul of a campaign. “We’re not just selling products, we’re selling emotions, aspirations, identities,” he says.
Kohli advocates for a performance-driven creative approach, blending storytelling with formats that are proven to convert — such as short-form videos, motion graphics, interactive ads, and influencer collaborations. But every piece of content, he notes, must serve a purpose: build awareness, drive engagement, or lead to a conversion.
A recent campaign he led combined user-generated content with influencer storytelling and saw a 5x increase in user engagement and a 28% lift in online sales.
Full-Funnel Execution
Firoze Kohli insists that digital campaigns must be full-funnel — meaning they guide users from awareness to action to advocacy. “You can’t just go viral and expect sales,” he says. “There needs to be a journey.”
This includes:
Top-of-Funnel (Awareness): Captivating visuals, brand storytelling, influencer activations
Mid-Funnel (Consideration): Retargeting ads, social proof, educational content
Bottom-Funnel (Conversion): Strong CTAs, limited-time offers, landing page optimization
Post-Purchase (Loyalty): Email nurturing, exclusive content, community engagement
Kohli’s campaigns are designed to nurture users across this entire spectrum, ensuring that no engagement is wasted.
Agility and Real-Time Optimization
“In digital, speed is a strategy,” says Firoze Kohli. He believes in constant testing and iteration — never setting a campaign on autopilot. With real-time analytics and feedback loops, Kohli adjusts creative elements, targeting, and budget allocation weekly, sometimes even daily.
He explains: “Your audience is telling you what works — every impression, every click is a conversation. You just need to listen.”
This agile mindset has helped his campaigns stay relevant in fast-changing environments and deliver ROI that outperforms industry benchmarks.
Measure What Matters
While vanity metrics can be tempting, Firoze Kohli is laser-focused on metrics that align with actual business value: customer acquisition cost (CAC), return on ad spend (ROAS), engagement quality, and conversion rate.
By tying campaign performance directly to sales and brand lift, Kohli ensures that every dollar spent is not just accounted for, but optimized for maximum return.
Final Thoughts: Impact Is Intentional
For Firoze Kohli, building high-impact digital campaigns isn’t about luck — it’s about discipline, creativity, and a relentless focus on the customer journey. His work is a testament to the power of integrating strategy with emotion, technology with creativity, and ambition with accountability.
As digital landscapes evolve, Kohli continues to set the bar for what impactful marketing looks like in the modern era — measurable, memorable, and meaningful.

The share of Democrats who want their party to take a more moderate approach has risen significantly—11 percentage points—since President Joe Biden took office in 2021, according to a new Gallup poll conducted just days after President Donald Trump's return to the White House.
Why It Matters
Democrats suffered losses across the board in the 2024 election, losing the presidency and the Senate while failing to flip the House.
The party's setback has led it into a period of reflection, working to redefine itself, assess the reasoning for its losses and identify its base and messaging, which did not resonate as strongly as expected. Many members feel disconnected and betrayed by the party, which failed to secure the necessary seats.
Earlier this month, Ken Martin was elected to lead the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
Newsweek has reached out to the DNC for comment via email on Thursday.
What To Know
A Gallup poll released Thursday found that preferences within both the Democratic and Republican parties have shifted significantly—as has the political climate—since 2021 when the pollster last conducted a similar survey.
The poll of 1,001 adults nationwide, conducted January 21 to January 27—just days after Trump returned to office—found that more Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents want the party to move toward moderation rather than becoming more liberal or staying the same.
It found that 45 percent of Democratic respondents wanted the party to become "more moderate," compared to 34 percent in 2021. The poll also found that Democrats are less satisfied with the state of party politics, with 22 percent wanting the party to stay the same, down from 31 percent in 2021.
Meanwhile, 29 percent of participants want the party to become more liberal, compared to 34 percent in 2021.
The breakdown of the vote percentage shows that 50 percent of nonwhite participants support the party becoming more moderate, compared to 42 percent of white participants. The shift also trends higher among higher-income earners.
The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
On the other hand, Republicans appear more satisfied with the state of their party now than they did back in 2021, which was notably on the heels of Trump's electoral loss to Democratic President Joe Biden, with 43 percent indicating they want the party to stay the same, compared to 34 percent in 2021. Nearly half of women polled want the party to stay the same, 49 percent, compared to 39 percent of men.
A similar share of participants want the party to shift right as to the left, with 28 percent supporting a more conservative direction and 27 percent favoring a move toward moderation.
Trump has held onto positive approval ratings since taking office better than his first term.
What People Are Saying
Democratic strategist Doug Gordon, co-founder of UpShift Strategies, previously told Newsweek: "In this moment, the actions Democrats take will speak much louder than the actual words they use. The status quo of sternly worded letters and Capitol Hill press conferences is not going to cut it. You can't bring a knife to a gunfight."
David B. Cohen, a professor of political science at the University of Akron, previously told Newsweek: "The Democratic Party seems to be waking up from the slumber it has been in since the 2024 election...Americans who did not vote for Donald Trump or Elon Musk or support their dismantling of the federal government have grown increasingly frustrated and panicked over the lackluster effort to oppose him. They want Democrats to do something—anything—to oppose the Trump agenda."
What Happens Next
The 2026 midterms are expected to serve as a referendum on the Republican Party's leadership and a test of the Democratic Party's strength.

Mastering All About MAT Entrance Exam: Your Guide to Success in 2025

If you’re planning to take the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) in 2025, understanding All about MAT Entrance Exam is the first step toward achieving a competitive score. Conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA), MAT is a national-level entrance exam that serves as a gateway to over 600 B-Schools across India. With its flexible testing modes—Paper-Based Test (PBT), Computer-Based Test (CBT), and Internet-Based Test (IBT)—MAT offers MBA aspirants the convenience to choose a format that suits their preferences. As of today, May 28, 2025, at 09:30 AM IST, this guide will provide a detailed overview of the MAT 2025 exam pattern, key features, preparation strategies, and insights to help you secure admission into top management colleges in India.
Understanding All About MAT Entrance Exam: What Is MAT 2025?
All about MAT Entrance Exam begins with understanding its purpose and structure. MAT, conducted by AIMA, is a standardized test designed to assess a candidate’s aptitude for management education. It evaluates skills across five key areas: Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis & Sufficiency, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, and Indian & Global Environment. The exam is held multiple times a year, typically in February, May, September, and December, with candidates having the flexibility to choose between PBT, CBT, or IBT modes. This versatility makes MAT a popular choice for MBA aspirants seeking admission into reputed B-Schools without the intense competition of exams like CAT or XAT.
MAT 2025 Exam Pattern: A Detailed Breakdown
A crucial part of All about MAT Entrance Exam is understanding its exam pattern. MAT 2025 will follow a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format, consisting of five sections, each designed to test specific skills essential for management education. Here’s a detailed breakdown:
Language Comprehension: 30 questions
Mathematical Skills: 30 questions
Data Analysis & Sufficiency: 30 questions
Intelligence & Critical Reasoning: 30 questions
Indian & Global Environment: 30 questions Total Questions: 150 Duration: 120 minutes (2 hours) Marking Scheme:
+1 mark for each correct answer
-0.25 mark for each incorrect answer Note: While all sections contribute to the overall score, the Indian & Global Environment section is not considered in the final composite score used for MBA admissions. This section is often evaluated separately by institutes to assess a candidate’s general awareness.
Key Features of MAT 2025
Understanding All about MAT Entrance Exam involves recognizing its unique features that make it a candidate-friendly exam:
Flexible Testing Modes: MAT offers three modes—PBT (Paper-Based Test), CBT (Computer-Based Test), and IBT (Internet-Based Test)—allowing candidates to choose the format that best suits their comfort and convenience.
No Sectional Time Limits: Unlike some other entrance exams, MAT does not impose sectional time limits, giving candidates the freedom to switch between sections and allocate time based on their strengths.
Balanced Difficulty Level: The exam is designed to test aptitude rather than deep subject-specific knowledge, making it accessible to candidates from diverse academic backgrounds.
Multiple Attempts: Conducted four times a year, MAT allows candidates to take the exam in multiple sessions, using their best score for admissions. This flexibility reduces pressure and provides opportunities to improve performance.
Why Choose MAT 2025 for MBA Admissions?
MAT 2025 is a smart choice for MBA aspirants for several reasons:
Wide Acceptance: MAT scores are accepted by over 600 B-Schools across India, including reputed institutes offering MBA, PGDM, and MMS programs.
Less Competitive: Compared to exams like CAT or XAT, MAT has a more manageable difficulty level, increasing your chances of securing a high percentile and admission into a top college.
Cost-Effective: The registration fee for MAT is generally lower than other management entrance exams, making it an affordable option for candidates.
Diverse Program Options: MAT scores are used for admission into a variety of programs, including MBA, PGDM, and MMS, catering to different career aspirations.
MAT 2025: Tentative Schedule
While exact dates for MAT 2025 will be announced by AIMA closer to the exam, historical trends suggest the following tentative schedule:
February Session: Registration in January, exam in mid-to-late February.
May Session: Registration in April, exam in mid-to-late May.
September Session: Registration in August, exam in early September.
December Session: Registration in November, exam in early December. Candidates can choose their preferred session and mode (PBT, CBT, or IBT) during registration. Keep an eye on the official AIMA website (mat.aima.in) for confirmed dates and updates.
Eligibility Criteria for MAT 2025
Before registering for MAT 2025, ensure you meet the eligibility criteria:
A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
Final-year undergraduate students are eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree before the admission process begins.
There is no minimum percentage requirement for most institutes, though some colleges may have specific cut-offs.
There is no age limit or restriction on the number of attempts, making MAT accessible to candidates of all ages and backgrounds.
How to Prepare for MAT 2025: Strategies for Success
Effective preparation is key to excelling in All about MAT Entrance Exam. Here’s a comprehensive strategy to help you achieve a competitive score:
1. Understand the Syllabus
Each section of MAT tests specific skills:
Language Comprehension: Focus on reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, sentence correction, and para jumbles.
Mathematical Skills: Cover arithmetic (percentages, profit and loss, time-speed-distance), algebra, geometry, number systems, and modern math (probability, permutations).
Data Analysis & Sufficiency: Practice interpreting data from tables, charts, and graphs, and solving data sufficiency problems.
Intelligence & Critical Reasoning: Work on puzzles, coding-decoding, analogies, series, and critical reasoning questions to enhance your logical thinking.
Indian & Global Environment: Stay updated on current affairs, business news, and general knowledge topics like history, geography, and politics.
2. Build a Structured Study Plan
Dedicate 4–6 hours daily to MAT preparation, ensuring balanced coverage of all sections:
Morning (2 hours): Mathematical Skills—solve problems on arithmetic, algebra, and geometry to strengthen your numerical abilities.
Afternoon (2 hours): Language Comprehension—read editorials from newspapers like The Hindu or The Indian Express, practice comprehension passages, and work on grammar and vocabulary exercises.
Evening (1 hour): Intelligence & Critical Reasoning—solve puzzles, logical reasoning sets, and critical reasoning questions to sharpen your analytical thinking.
Night (1 hour): Data Analysis & Sufficiency—practice interpreting data from charts and graphs, and solve data sufficiency problems.
Daily (30 minutes): Indian & Global Environment—read newspapers, business magazines, and online resources to stay updated on current affairs.
Weekly Goals: Take a full-length mock test every weekend and thoroughly analyze your performance to identify areas for improvement.
3. Practice with Mock Tests in Your Chosen Mode
Since MAT offers PBT, CBT, and IBT modes, practice mock tests in the mode you’ve chosen to familiarize yourself with the format. For example:
PBT: Practice with paper-based mock tests to get comfortable with marking answers on an OMR sheet.
CBT/IBT: Use online mock tests to adapt to the digital interface and navigation. Mock tests help improve speed, accuracy, and time management, while also simulating the actual exam environment.
4. Focus on Speed and Accuracy
With 150 questions to answer in 120 minutes, you have less than 1 minute per question (approximately 48 seconds). Practice solving questions quickly while maintaining accuracy, especially in Mathematical Skills and Intelligence & Critical Reasoning sections, which often require calculations and logical analysis. The negative marking system (-0.25 marks per incorrect answer) makes accuracy crucial—avoid guesswork and focus on questions you’re confident about.
5. Stay Updated on Current Affairs
The Indian & Global Environment section requires knowledge of current affairs and general awareness. Dedicate 30 minutes daily to reading newspapers like The Hindu or The Indian Express, and business magazines like Business Today or Business Standard. Focus on topics such as:
National and international news
Business and economic developments
Awards, sports, and government policies
History, geography, and static GK While this section doesn’t contribute to the composite score, a good performance can give you an edge during the admission process at some institutes.
6. Leverage Quality Study Resources
Use books like “Quantitative Aptitude for Competitive Examinations” by R.S. Aggarwal for Mathematical Skills, “Word Power Made Easy” by Norman Lewis for Language Comprehension, and “A Modern Approach to Logical Reasoning” by R.S. Aggarwal for Intelligence & Critical Reasoning. Online platforms like IMS, Career Launcher, and Hitbullseye offer MAT-specific mock tests and study materials to enhance your preparation. More Details: https://careermantra.net/exam/32/mat-2025/PreparationTips
7. Manage Stress and Stay Consistent
Consistency is key to success in MAT. Study regularly, take short breaks to avoid burnout, and engage in light physical activity to stay focused. Maintain a healthy sleep schedule and consider joining online MAT preparation communities for motivation, peer support, and valuable tips. Managing stress effectively will help you approach the exam with confidence.
Why MAT 2025 Is a Strategic Choice for MBA Aspirants
MAT 2025 offers a less competitive pathway to top B-Schools compared to exams like CAT or XAT, making it an attractive option for many candidates. Its multiple sessions throughout the year provide flexibility, allowing you to retake the exam if needed to improve your score. Additionally, the diverse range of colleges accepting MAT scores ensures you have options across various cities, specializations, and fee structures, catering to a wide range of career aspirations.
Final Thoughts
Understanding All about MAT Entrance Exam is the foundation of a successful preparation strategy for MAT 2025. With its flexible modes, balanced difficulty, and wide acceptance, MAT offers a promising pathway to top management colleges in India. By following a structured study plan, practicing consistently, and focusing on speed and accuracy, you can achieve a competitive score and secure admission into a reputed B-School. The right college can set the stage for a successful management career, opening doors to leadership roles in top organizations. Start your preparation early, stay committed, and leverage MAT’s flexibility to achieve your MBA goals.
