It's 2005, a band explodes on MySpace. They're dressed like you and their lyrics are a mirror to your life.

Bleeding heck, who the fuck are the Arctic Monkeys?

After 19 years on repeat it's now 2024. Myself and @conor_bloodfilms are travelling back from Paris.

We arrive at Gare Du Nord and Duffy stops in his tracks. He whispers to me "I think that's Alex Turner."

"F**k off!" | immediately reply. I gaze over at a guy wearing a leather jacket with long brown hair, his face adorned with aviators. We should probably stop staring as it's getting weird, sexually and aggressively weird.

Turns out it is bloody Alex Turner, the man who's provided the soundtrack to my life! He strolls past and disappears into the Parisian platform crowd. A missed opportunity.

We board our train back to London. We look to our left and there's Alex. Sitting in his seat accompanied by a notepad. He's probably writing the next Arctic Monkeys hit "Two gawping pricks on a train". We really need to stop staring.

I tell Duffers I'm going in, he stops me. Reminds me that I'm a fully functioning adult and not to create a scene. Christ, he's right! I feel like I'm 15 years old again, someone get me a Strongbow and whack Dancing Shoes on, kin hell lad!

Eventually myself and Con engage, it's a surreal experience. Alex is polite and returns conversation in a soft friendly manner. The whole situation is just bloody lovely.

I awkwardly ask if I can take his portrait, fully aware that it could result in an awkward exchange and destroy this wonderful moment. He smiles and obliges, he's effortlessly cool, asks for direction and I take a few snaps.

We disembark the train, I felt quite emotional and that's embarrassing to admit. Maybe it was the jet lag, the caffeine and croissant overload? Or maybe it was just the rekindling of my youth.

This all might sound trivial, however, for me these portraits are deeply personal serving a reminder that life is a series of fortunate events and when fully appreciated can conjure up some pretty awesome memories.

Előfordul, hogy az ember beleragad egy pillanatba, egy érzésbe vagy egy vágyba, rácsodálkozásba. Egy szerelembe. És bénultan ott ragad hosszú-hosszú időre. Mennyi ideig állnál egy előszobában? Mennyi ideig várnál valakire? 10-15 perc? Hónap? Vagy több? Ennyi év alatt, már az előszoba minden sarkát és kiszögellését megismeri az ember. A fal mellett a kis kovácsoltvas lábú asztalkát, rajta a Várkert bazár és egy utazási iroda prospektusával, a két ósdi műbőr fotelt, amin ismeretlen nők ülnek, a plakátokat és a fal összes repedését. A kiszűrődő hangok alapján lesz egy elképzelésed, hogy mi történhet a szobákban. A nyíló ajtók résein keresztül rövid időre bepillanthatsz, így alakulnak újabb fantáziáid arról, hogy mi történne, ha végre fogadnának. Úgy képzeled, hogy minden részletet kibeszéltek majd, az apró betűset is, és az ötleteidnek örülnek, a terveidet támogatják, a kétséges részekre okos magyarázatokat kapsz, és akkora lesz az öröm, hogy elfelejted majd, hogy mennyit vártál, lehetőleg rémálmaidban sem jön majd elő a gondolat, hogy talán ez nem volt jó így. Azt gondolod, hogy kitartó vagy, nem adhatod fel, hiszen neked fontos ez az Ügy. Reméled, hogy tudják, hogy nem pénzt kérnél, megoldasz te mindent egyedül, csak az Ügyet szeretnéd elfogadtatni. Alá se kell írni, nem kell pecsét se, csak szeretnél már belépni és túl lenni a várakozáson. Aztán az Ügy meg majd alakul, ahogy alakul. Néha kiszól valaki, hogy legyél szíves kicsit türelmesnek lenni, vagy azt, hogy „kire tetszik várni? majd a válaszra bólintanak. Hát, legalább tudja valaki, hogy kire vársz. Mintha ez számítana bármit is. Toporogsz az előszobában, amit ez idő alatt már többször átfestettek, lecserélték az ajtókat, végig nézted ahogy kihordják a szobákból a bútorokat és modernebb berendezéseket hoznak, csak a két fotel marad a két szundikáló nővel, de te éberen vársz, kezedben az Ügyeddel. Időnként dühös leszel, arra gondolsz, hogy be kéne kopogni, mert hátha elfelejtették, hogy ott vagy. Esetleg felháborodottan berontani, hogy mi ez a méltatlanság, ennyi ideig váratni valakit? De nem kopogsz és nem rontasz be, mert udvariasnak neveltek és kicsit félsz is, hogy akkor az Ügyedet elutasítanák. A lábad is fáj, hiszen már nagyon rég nem pihentél, fáradt is vagy, éhes, és pisilni se mersz elmenni, mert hátha éppen akkor szólítanak, és lekésed a pillanatot. A pillanat, amikor majd szólítani fognak végre, fontosabbá válik, mint azok, akikkel várakozás közben beszéltél vagy azok, akiket otthon hagytál az ÜGY előtt. Nézed a plakátokat a falon. Bár kívülről tudod már mindet, de újra és újra elolvasod. Reklámanyagok színes feliratai arról, hogy nincs várakozási idő és minden ÜGY fontos. Megenyhülsz ettől, hogy az Ügy fontos és türelmesen vársz tovább.

Nem tudom min múlik, hogy mikor látod meg magad, ahogy ott állsz az előszobában, a legszebb ruhádban, magassarkú cipőben, és kényszeredett mosollyal az arcodon, ugrásra készen, minden pillanatban tökéletesen. Talán éppen este lesz, valahonnan friss festék és pezsgő illatát hozza a szél és egy gondolatot, hogy feleslegesen várakozol, a szobáknak van egy másik ajtaja és ahol te állsz, onnan valójában nem fogadnak senkit.

Olyan régóta vársz, hogy már a kijáratot sem találod, és talán nem is emlékszel merre kell hazamenned. Mintha az az előszoba lenne már az otthonod, azokkal a foglalt fotelekkel, azokkal a plakátokkal és azokkal a kiszűrődő hangokkal. Mások öröme, mások nevetése, mások szabadsága. A lépcsőházban a falnak dőlsz és nem mersz elindulni. Hátha nem fogod bírni. A szűk előszoba után, talán már nem is tudsz hosszú, könnyed léptekkel járni. Szembe jön valaki és rád mosolyog. De te csak akkor mosolyodsz el, amikor megérzed a friss levegőt a lépcsőforduló ablaka felől. Hozza a pollent, a cigarettafüstöt, a város zaját, az utcák büdösét, de mégis más, mint az előszoba állott levegője. Hívogató, színes, reménnyel teli. Akkor az Ügyből hajtogatsz egy repülőt, és a lépcsőház ablakán kihajolva kidobod a semmibe.

♪ "MAESTRO'S THE ONE YOU SHOULD FOLLOW!!!" ♪

SEVENTEEN IS BACK!!! Not a lot of artists (especially the groups) release best/compilation albums, but no one does it better than SVT! I'm so happy "MAESTRO" has the same vibes as "Super (Monkey King)" ("God of Music" was a bit mild to me), like a classical version of how "Super" was Chinese/East Asian. The chorus is slightly empty aside from the "La-la, la-la, la-la-la-la-la", but the post-chorus makes up for it. The bridge started with a completely different beat & caught me by surprise. The most straightforward answer to the question "Who is the real MAESTRO?" would be humans, because as seen in the war between SVT & artificial intelligence, SVT wins. Anyway, the subunit songs' MVs will be released within the next month!

Another Crab's Treasure

Made it to the "forest" area.

Realized I had a ton of crystals to upgrade. Managed to unlock the hammer and I like it so much better. It's a cool idea turning your fork into a hammer by stabbing a shell.

Stardew Valley

Made it to Summer.

Had a ton of events the last week of Spring. Feels a bit like I put a bit too many friendship helper mods. Though I was gifting like crazy.

Today we were off to an early start of the rally. At 7:00 o‘clock we took off from Cape Town to the Cape of Good Hope and from there via the Lourens Pass to Franschoek, the French wine region east of Cape Town.

The roads chosen were excellent and we had no problems with the car! In the beginning we drove alongside the coast down to the Cape with almost no traffic. Everyone was heading into the town while we left it driving south on the peninsula. White sandy beaches ideal for surfers and a constant change between a lush and rugged landscape. The winds close to the Cape forces nature to duck down in low shrubs which grow in various colors over rocky plains and hills. The Cape of Good Hope is not the most southern tip of Africa but certainly the most prominent. We were the first ones there and were the only ones who hiked up to the lighthouse as well. The funicular was out of order today.

We then continued back northbound alongside the coast. Everything was meticulously kept clean. We drove through various villages nestled on the hillside or built directly at the beaches. Muizenberg we found especially picturesque.

It required some time before we realized that we are not on the clock and that we actually can stop to take pictures whenever we want. The absence of competitive sections makes it easy on the cars.

From the south we then had a transit section before leaving the main roads towards Franschoek. The weather was very pleasant with temperatures around 25 degrees celsius.

Before heading down to Franschoek we drove through fruit plantations which covered the hills all the way to the horizon.

After a superb late lunch at the winery „Haute Cabriére“ we headed for the Franschoek Hotel & Spa to spend the night!

朝起きたら7時台だったので、また寝た。夜ご飯用のご飯を炊こうと思って洗っておいたのにそんなことをすっかり忘れて夜は素麺を食べてしまった。ということに夜になってから気づき、22時に米を炊いて、冷凍しなければならなくなった。
