So wanted to give a shout out to Signature Fitness as they were my choice for a leg press, compared to many other, they looked to be a heavy duty leg press that would be able to handle my 600 lb leg presses and then some.…came in a super huge box that most people that would some man crate that I could just pack up Aaron and ship him out 😍😂😍 but the pieces had to unpacked, brought into house and taken to the downstairs gym. Once all items were carried down, bubble wrap was used excessively which I was happy for! The parts were very protected and were in excellent shape coming in from California. I started to lay out all the pieces and trying to solve the puzzle of putting it together. The directions? Not so good. They showed a hundred pieces in which wasn’t necessary as most of it was already put onto the major pieces. Once I had the base together, backrest and seat attached, and all the braces attached, the hardest part was putting on the foot press, which itself weighed about 250lbs…total weight of unit is about 550 lbs. This was my Thanksgiving Day project and it is completed. I used social media to communicate with them but was tough hearing back. Luckily I have been around equipment long enough to know the gist of it. No YouTube videos anywhere to explain the process so will upload what I have this weekend. About this time last year, John Dennis, my dear friend of 45 years, told me about an endurance hiking event he’d just done called 29029 Everesting. The 29029 event at Whistler, B.C. requires hiking up a 3.9-mile mountain trail, with 3900 feet of elevation gain, eight times in 36 hours. If you complete eight ascents, your aggregate elevation gain exceeds 29,029 feet, the elevation of the summit of Everest. You take a gondola down between ascents.

I immediately said I wanted to do this in 2023. Last weekend, after months of training, John and I were among 330 people who undertook the challenge. The weather was great on Friday but cold and wet on Saturday, with snow at the summit by mid-afternoon. We both finished the eight ascents. Hard as this event was, it was a great deal of fun, and the participants are a very supportive and high-energy group.

Happy Friday!!! Yes it’s been a minute since I posted but been busy for my next adventure!!! Although I am not going to tell you until the date gets closer, but Wowzer, it will be a challenge!!! Let’s just say it will take nerves of steel, balance, agility, patience, love, and much time to be the best I can be!!! I can’t wait to post my updates but as for today, just to let y’all know I’m two weeks out from the IFIT Summit Push and I did that amazing hard climb which makes everything seem easy and put into perspective….can’t wait for more adventures along this road of life... so standby for more of what awaits in the next 7 days…I promise it will be fun and worth a check back on my feed and posts!! Here we go again… Let’s try this one more time 😍 Spent the night at the airport because I wasn’t I wasn’t in the mood to get an Uber or shuttle to the hotel and had to deal with canceling my hotel and my car rental and book new ones last night. Also was interesting sleeping in some weird positions, and in the ladies room, I thought I was hearing things…mens voices…first I thought I was in the wrong side?!? Wait! No! There are men IN the ladies bathroom!! 😜 all the girls are looking at each other and said wth! And then started laughing!!! “It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.” Sir Edmund Hiliary I CAN do Hard things! And always figured out how to reach new goals. I’ve gone up to Mt. Hood…been to Mt. Washington. I’ve hiked the rolling hills of the Appalachian Trail. Hiked Death Valley in extreme heat. Pikes Peak was extraordinary. The Rocky Mountains in Colorado are breathtaking in more ways than one! I’ve been across the country and have been given difficult tasks in my wanderings…I will continue to push through no matter what those obstacles are, making my journey over rough trails and mountains of memories to come. What’s lies ahead? I know my training will continue to go further, longer, harder and will not give up my journey to discover more. I am driven. Focused. And with new found friendships through the Summit Gladiators, we will conquer more together!
