Gods and Goddesses from Wakfu

Goddess Cra, her followers are archers (read "Cra" backwards and you get "Arc", French for "Bow")

God Ecaflip, his followers are gamblers (read "Ecaflip" backwards and you get "Pilface", French "Pile ou face" means "Heads or Tails")

God/Goddess Huppermage, its followers are mages who can use all 4 elements, plus Light (it's a not an actual God/Goddess, but some mysterious and invisible force called Krosmic Balance)

God Iop, his followers are warriors/brawlers ("Iop" is a reference to "Yop", brand of yogurt drink from Yoplait, 2nd of 3 favorite snacks of creators)

God Osamodas, his followers capture and summon creatures, they use whips, and can transform in semi-dragons (read "Osamodas" backwards and you get "Sadomaso", an acronym for "sadistic masochist")

God Ouginak, his followers can transform into werewolf-like dogs ("Ouginak" is a reference to dog food brand)

Goddess Pandawa, her followers are martial artists who love to drink ("Pandawa" is an anagram for "Padawan", Jedi apprentice in the Star Wars. Another version - short for "Panda Warrior")

God Sram, his followers are stealthy assassins (read "Sram" backwards and you get "Mars", a reference to 3rd of 3 favorite snacks of creators)

God Eugor, his followers are bandits who use guns and bombs (read "Eugor" backwards and you get "Rogue". He is Sram in disguise)

Goddess Sacrier, her followers are brawlers/berserkers ("Sacrier" is a reference to "Sacrieur", French combination of "sacrifice" and "crieur" - "a person that shouts", they used their own blood for attacks in Dofus and some of their attacks damage them back)

God Sadida, his followers are tree people, who use dolls (read "Sadida" backwards and you get "Adidas", a reference to shoe and sportwear brand. Full name of class is "Sadida's Shoe", but funny thing is that Sadida followers don't wear any shoes)

God Foggernaut, his followers in Dofus are humans, in Wakfu they are robots with human souls. But it is speculated that only part of them are robots and they are atheists, while some of them are still humans and worship the God (its name is derived from Phileas Fogg and The Nautilus)

Season Of The Witch-A Riptide Invasions Season Concept

“The Riptide that attacks us is like none other. A mad water witch and former umgadi, she was driven insane after her timeline’s Tanya caused the death of her version of Tomas and their newborn child. She killed her Tanya and the rest of the umgadi, and she was far from done. She now hunts down different versions of Tanya and Tomas for vengeance and to have the family she never had, wiping out timelines in her wake. She now has come to this timeline, to try and enact the same fate she has done to many before. May your combat save our timeline and many others, so that we all may not drown in her sorrow and rage”

Scorpion (boss 1) “this Kuai Liang unfortunately lost his Harumi and when his Riptide went rogue, he eagerly joined her, sharing in her grief. To prevent him from furthering Riptide’s power trip, he must be stopped”

Baraka (boss 2) “another disciple of his timeline’s Riptide, he went mad with jealousy after his Mileena rejected him for Tanya. He was delighted when Tanya was killed and became Riptide’s loyal dog. So like a mad dog, he must be put down”

Kenshi (boss 3): “this Kenshi loyally serves his Seraphina, as she saved him from being killed the Yakuza. His Suchin wasn’t so lucky and was killed. Now, the vengeful swordsman goes from timeline to timeline, ending those who dare get in his way. You must stop him at all costs”

Riptide (boss 4/final boss) “Like our timeline’s Riptide, this Riptide has great skill over water, but now a great rage to fuel it. No wonder why she has been such a dangerous foe for this timeline’s warriors. With so much anger, she is more determined than ever to have what she wants, by any means necessary”.

“Despite the threat she brought to this timeline, it was the understanding brought by this timeline’s Tomas and Seraphina that ultimately brought us victory. The other Riptide soon realized that what she had done was wrong and that her Smoke wouldn’t have wanted her to continue her path of vengeance. She surrendered, and instead of prisoning her in the void, I sent her to a timeline where she could truly achieve peace, where she is no longer a threat to herself and the other timelines”.

-So this version of Seraphina/Riptide comes from a timeline where Madinat was still destroyed but she was born an only child

-in this timeline, the Umgadi stumbled upon the ruins of Madinat instead of the Lin Kuei, saving Seraphina’s life

-already knew magic, continued to strengthen it by tutelage under whoever was high mage of Outworld

-Sindel is much like Mk11 Sindel. She has a much better relationship with her daughters though, who all help their mother run what is basically a dictatorship

-Mileena is still heir and still has her secret relationship with Tanya

-This Tanya is much more cruel and ruthless, willing to do anything to uphold the empire and for Mileena

-I should also mention, this Seraphina’s burn scar is much more extensive. It covers most of the left side of her face but she can still see with both eyes

-WARNING:MENTIONS OF SEVERE VIOLENCE-

-Raised to know only but servitude and the empire, this Seraphina was nothing but lonely.

-it wasn’t until she met the Shirai Ryu’s grandmaster, Smoke aka Tomas Vrbada, was when she finally found a companion.

-the two quickly fell into a passionate love affair, obviously kept secret, as Seraphina faced severe punishment if they were found out.

-Seraphina was nearly caught sneaking out to see Tomas one night, unintentionally stumbling upon Mileena and Tanya together. She was quickly sworn to secrecy and did so. She was the only person that knew of their relationship.

-eventually, Seraphina fell pregnant with Tomas’s child. Thankfully, Tomas managed to convince Tanya (who is Matron) that Seraphina was to train with him up in the mountains as “she could use the practice, she still has much to learn”.

-Everything seemed fine, Seraphina was seemingly safe in the mountains with the Shirai Ryu. She would go onto deliver a healthy baby girl nine months later.

-unbeknownst to her, Tanya grew suspicious. She secretly sent spies and soon learned that this “training” was just a cover. The matron quickly realized she could get Seraphina out of the way if she revealed her secret, to protect her and Mileena, also to ensure Mileena ascends to the throne.

-Seraphina was soon called back to the Umgadi. She had already decided once the time was right, she would escape and come back for Tomas and their daughter.

-It was only when she returned, that she realized it was a trap. The umgadi had kidnapped Tomas and their baby. Seraphina pleaded for mercy but she could only watch as the love of her life and her child were executed in front of her by Tanya. The rest of the Umgadi just watched.

-that was the moment Seraphina lost it.

-her mind finally broke under the constant years of stress and grief. She flooded the entire Cenobium, drowning the Umgadi, along with Tanya.

-It was that day that Seraphina died and Riptide was born. She went on a rampage, eventually gathering allies such as Scorpion, Baraka and Kenshi. Yet she wasn’t done with just her timeline.

-she was desperate to get Tomas back by any means necessary. Once she got rid of the keeper of time that resided over her timeline, she now has the means to travel from universe to universe.

-over and over she went, jumping from timeline to timeline. Anyone that got in her way would perish and any alternate Tanya would quickly be quashed. Different versions of Tomas weren’t so lucky either. If they wouldn’t go along, they’d be killed in an instant.

-The other Seraphina eventually shows up to the current timeline and immediately has it out for her alternate self especially, because she’s jealous about how close her MK1 self is to MK1 Tomas.

-chaos ensues.

-the final scene consists of the current Seraphina and Tomas trying to talk her down and she eventually realizes that what she’s doing is wrong. Her Tomas wouldn’t have want this for her.

-Liu Kang initially considered imprisoning her in the void but Mk1 Seraphina and Tanya pleaded for him not to. So, she was taken to a timeline where she could truly achieve peace.

-Titan! Raiden knew better than anyone about losing yourself to darkness. So when Liu Kang showed up with the other Seraphina suffering from just that, he didn’t hesitate to agree to take her in. She was extremely remorseful and pleaded for his help.

Dreadwolf Speculations - Protagonist + Companions (Part 2 - loong post)

This is part 2 of my Protagonist + Companions speculation for Dragon Age Dreadwolf. You probably will have to read Part 1 to understand the things I discuss in this part.

Some of the pictures I use here will be snips from the BTS trailer from 2020, so apologies for the cropping/inferior quality of some of them.

Much of this (or all of it, really) is speculation, based around teasers, trailers, concept art and leaks. None of it is confirmed, I just wanted to share my personal take on what our companions will beTake that as you will, going forward.

And so;

Part 2: The Companions

So, as of right now we have 3 confirmed named characters:

Rook (most probably the protagonist)

Bellara (female... something)

Davrin (male... probably a grey warden)

Bellara and Davrin may or may not be companions, but I feel it's important to note they're the only named characters whose voices we've heard (from the BTS teaser back in 2020).

There will be 8 companions, at least for the base game (without dlc companions, which I believe Bioware will not do again)

Origins had 8 (+1 secret companion to replace another who leaves late game) - 2 mages, 2 rogues, 3 warriors + a dog)

DA2 had 7 (with a switch of the siblings, based on pc class) - 2 mages (3 if brother died), 2 rogues, 2 warriors (3 if sister died) (+ technically a dog?)

Inquisition had 9 - 3 mages, 3 rogues, 3 warriors.

Let's go from left to right from the image above!

Female mage (probably elven)

I don't think a warrior or a rogue would wear a dress for obvious reasons (restrictive movement, impractical battle equipment). And flowing robe-like attire strikes me as a mage thing. I'm also getting an elven vibe from her, but not dalish - her outfit feels elven (legs for days, flowy, the front part that dips between the legs) and it looks to me like she's barefoot (elves like their toesies out)

I also like to believe that she is the woman on the far left of this concept art;

Literally just because she has similar hair and both characters look overtly feminine (and attractive, I must admit)

As for personality/background; I believe she will be rather confident, perhaps flirtatious, she'll probably give you a shock, and will hide some dark secret (I'm calling it, she's going to betray us). As for her background... It depends where we pick her up, really. But I'm positive she's not a dalish elf... If she is an elf at all, but I'm 70-80% sure that she is. Her ears are covered/hidden, so.

2. Female Qunari Rogue

Very obviously a female qunari (long hair on a female qunari!!). I say rogue, because, we've had 2 warriors, and all of the concept art with this same female qunari is of her wielding daggers.

She's going to be stubborn, no nonsense, and will probably question your every move. She'll also probably be romanceable, given how much she appears in the concept art/teasers (compared to others). I would like her to be a tal-vashoth- though I think it would be interesting to see the perspective of a woman who lived under the qun, and possibly left because being a woman within the qun is very different from being a man (and we've only seen men, so far). So perhaps she's a runaway from the qun? Perhaps she disagreed with the order of things? She looks closed off/no nonsense. Perhaps her character arc will be her learning to relax/express herself/trust, like we get to see a softer and more feminine side if we get her approval up?

3. Male.... Human.

I want to say rogue, but when I asked my partner, he said he doesn't look like a rogue or a warrior. So... Possibly mage? The satchels and light-ish armour make me think rogue.... Unless Dreadwolf introduces multiclassing? (I'd fucking love that, not going to lie). This could be Davrin? I doubt it, but... Maybe? I'll settle on a hard maybe - mainly because the other characters in this lineup just don't hit me with that voice. This is a man of triumph, perhaps also of loss. He has something to prove, for himself and for others - he will be... Clever but also valorous, I don't think he's the type to skulk or hide, he'll want to be up at the front and will want you to see (but not in a pompous way?).

Not much else to say on him, unfortunately.

4. Human-male Mortalitasi-mage

The armour, especially the bracers, look like bones - and I'm 100% sure there's going to be a mortalitasi mage as a companion, they've been hyping them up ever since Inquisition and Tevinter Nights was a thing - and no other character looks like a death mage.

I have nothing else on him, honestly. I'm not getting any vibes. I think he'll be interesting to talk to and will provide a great deal of information, and I suspect he'll be very interesting in stopping/killing Fen'Harel - perhaps he'll have a personal grudge?

5. Female rogue... dwarf.

The character looks female, and that looks like a gun - though I feel inclined to say it's a crossbow, just at an odd angle (perhaps one similar to Bianca?). I also say dwarf, because I KNOW there's a dwarf companion, and no other character fits in the lineup. She just gives me dwarf vibes.

This is either Scout Lace Harding, or Bianca - perhaps a completely new character (perhaps Bellara? "The good kind of rumble!" gives me dwarf vibes).

She'll be cocky, and quirky, and fun. Looks entirely like the person to does the whole *pumps shotgun* "it's Morbin' time".

Also;

If it's a female rogue dwarf, I'm 99% sure it's Scout Lace Harding, I mean- look at those freckles, that ginger hair. Maybe not. But they all look like rogues, and 2 images have crossbows... Is the original lineup picture.... Bianca-the crossbow? It looks a lot like Bianca. If so.... Is Varric going to die in Dreadwolf, and this character is going to get Bianca??

OKAY NO. QUICK THEORY TIME. BECAUSE THIS IS GOING TO BOTHER ME IF I DON'T GET IT OUT THERE NOW THAT I'VE CONSIDERED IT.

So we know there's a dwarf character in the next game, who looks a bit like Harding, who wield a crossbow.

It's difficult to get the pictures of Bianca-the crossbow when it's not in active mode, so trust me, it looks a lot like the silhouette's weapon. So- in this wild scenario.... Harding somehow gets Varric's famed crossbow, the crossbow he loves and doesn't let anyone touch? He dies. Varric's going to die, and he's going to either give Bianca to Harding to prevent an enemy from taking it, or Bianca is going to take it off his dead/dying body.

And you ask; what kind of scenario permits this happening? They barely talked in Inquisition.

Well.

Varric and Harding are travelling together in the deep roads, looking for Solas (and hot on his tail), in this comic.

And what does Harding look like in this most recent rendition of her?

Now, go back up and look at the concept art images.

The scariest thing is; I could be SO FUCKING RIGHT. Varric may very well die soon (either in these comics, or in Dreadwolf - I'm guessing Dreadwolf). And Harding is going to get Bianca.

She's going to have a serious, and personal vendetta against Solas.

Okay, dwarf companion complete. Next, before I explode.

6. Antivan Crow? Fellow Rook? Rogue (probably female)

I mentioned before (in Part 1) how I believed since the protagonist is Rook, that in chess, there are 2 Rooks; and in this image;

There are 2 similar looking corvid-themed characters (left ready to grab the guy, right holding the palanquin). I guessed that the right is the protagonist Rook, and the left, is either an Antivan Crow, or a 2nd Rook (agents of the Inquisition).

Tin foil hats, galore. But it would be cool though, to go through the game with a constant companion from the beginning, like Alistair in Origins, or Carver/Bethany in DA2.

I think this is also the Crow/2nd Rook, similar design + weapon. Or, this is the main character.

I believe they're a female character, but that's purely a hunch based on the palanquin piece. Plus, they look like a crow. It'd be weird to have another male crow (I very much doubt it's Zevran).

They seem sarcastic, capable, and probably very likeable (the kind of person it's hard not to like). Probably romanceable to males and females.

7. Male.... Mage??

At this point, I'm just taking wild guesses. He looks human. But I was super hoping for a tranquil, or ancient elf companion. 1 million points if it's Felassan or Abelas. But... I really don't know what to make of this character, but I'm getting mage vibes. Hoping for a tranquil companion. So that's all I'll say for this guy.

8. I Don't Even Know - Abomination?

Looks like a sailor? Possibly pirate? From the concept art, it looks like a lot of the scenery is tropical/seaside/ocean - to that makes a bit of sense.

They look dead, their face looks like a skull, almost. So... A spirit possessing the dead?

Or... I just considered another thing, kind of.

Where have we seen a blue face glow before?

Now, I'm not saying it's Solas, or Mythal. I'm merely... suggesting that it could be... Something to do with this scene where Solas kills Flemeth, on some level. I find it interesting how I remembered this when looking at this pirate-looking character, especially when the colours and imagery are so similar.

We'd have to consider why Solas' face lights and waves around, but part of me always assumed this was like... his spirit-self? (If we're to go with the idea that Solas was originally a spirit who took physical form, like Cole).

So... It's a spirit. Is my best guess XD One that hasn't quite gotten the physical form thing right, perhaps it doesn't look human (or elven, dwarven, etc), and looks how... Hold the fuck up.

It's a spirit, at best guess, who takes OUR side... And doesn't look like a physical being. It's body is completely covered, except it's face, that you can't quite see right because of the glow. And how do spirits look in the physical world?

It's... Not a corporeal spirit, or one that took physical form. It's a spirit existing as a spirit in the physical world. Or.... The veil has come down, and spirits walk freely in Thedas.

It doesn't look like it's really wearing clothes, it looks like it's just covering itself- a mismatch of items its found or conjured by it's own guess at what people should wear, because it thinks it should be wearing things. I don't think it has a physical body, is what I'm saying, or it's not quite a body (or similar to a demon, it doesn't look right).

But if it's a spirit, what is it a spirit of?

We could guess by colour. I couldn't say; but I'd love for it to be Hope, or something else we've never seen before!

And... That concludes it I think, if I've forgotten something I'll just deal with it.

Strixhaven Students: Lorehold

In this five-part series, I’ll be creating a brand new Dungeons and Dragons character who would call one of the colleges of Strixhaven home. Each character will be built using content released in either published books or in Unearthed Arcana (UA) documents, such as the recently released Mages of Strixhaven UA.

Today, I’d like to introduce you to Rufus, Dedicated Retriever.

When Rufus was still fairly young, he was adopted by an upper year student from Quandrix College named Cairu, who had a theory about exponential optimism. As the student studied the effects of different stimuli on the puppy's emotional state, they decided that their experiment's results would be enhanced if Rufus could communicate his own thoughts. One sapience spell later, Rufus was gifted with enhanced deductive thinking and telepathic speech.

A few months of research later, Cairu's project had come to a close, with several interesting data points backing up their theory. Rufus had grown as well, having taken a liking to reading nightly from various books students left for him. So, with the support of the student researchers and a surprising endorsement from Lady Kasmina, Rufus applied, and later accepted, to be a Strixhaven student himself.

After taking some introductory courses in archeology, Rufus found he had a knack for hunting down history. There was a certain scent that centuries old metal and sun-bleached bone had; he could just smell it faintly on the wind when it blew just right. And so, the halls of Lorehold became his new home.

Starting Stats (using the Standard Array)

Strength: 10

Dexterity: 15

Constitution: 12

Intelligence: 8

Wisdom: 14

Charisma: 13

Rufus loves to run around. He loves to play and interact with others; his enthusiasm is often contagious. And, his senses of smell and hearing enhance his acute awareness of his surroundings.

Race: Custom Lineage

Rufus is a sapient dog, which doesn’t have a direct character race in D&D. However, in Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything, the Custom Lineage option was presented, which we will use here. Most of the traits will play into Rufus’s dog nature: his Small size, innate strength, and proficiency in perception. The selected feat of telepathy is a result of the sapience spell placed on Rufus by Cairu, the Quandrix researcher. For the feat, I picked to increase Rufus’s Intelligence score, to show how the spell increased his abilities to read and think critically.

Traits:

Size: Small

Ability Score Increases: Strength +2

Feat: Telepathic (Intelligence). This increases Rufus’s Intelligence score by 1, and allows him to convey his thoughts to another creature within 60 feet. This also allows him to cast Detect Thoughts once per long rest, an interesting side effect of the sapience spell that allows Rufus to understand someone’s true feelings.

Variable Trait: Proficiency - Perception. Like most dogs, Rufus has a keen sense of hearing and smell. For this build, we’ll flavor that as being proficient in Perception.

Background: Athlete

While not an athlete in the traditional sense (at least at the beginning of his story), Rufus’s love of running and play were what drew Cairu to select Rufus and the subject of his optimism optimization research. Later on in his time at Lorehold, Rufus’s skills and speed impress the college’s Mage Tower team captain, and Rufus earns a spot on the team, the first non-humanoid to do so in any college.

Skill Proficiencies: Athletics and Acrobatics

Level 1: Rogue (Level 1)

Rufus begins his adventures as a rogue, as this would be the time directly after Cairu’s research ended and Rufus’s educational journey began. His first few classes introduced him to the basic concepts of magic, which will eventually lead to his second level being a spellcaster (more on that later).

Starting Class Proficiencies: Insight, Intimidation, Investigation, Stealth

Expertise: Investigation, Perception

Starting Weapons: Because he is a dog, I would reskin Rufus’s weapons as bite and claw attacks, such as a dagger slash being a paw swipe and a shortsword jab being a vicious bite.

Level 2: Bard (Level 1)

Rufus’s general joyful demeanor and his interactions with fellow students are what drive his magical powers. As a Bard, he uses his magic primarily to help and encourage others, although he might use Mage Hand to grab a few snacks every once in a while. He also starts to learn more about archeology, which fascinates him: a whole career about digging up the past is more than enough reason for a couple of tail wags.

Leveled Spells: Cure Wounds, Feather Fall, Heroism, Identify

Level 3: Bard (Level 2)

Rufus’s interest in history has cemented his desire to be involved with the college of Lorehold. He had remained in contact with Cairu as he had gone through the first year of school, and Cairu enthusiastically agreed that this would be the place that would be best for Rufus - “While mathematics is brilliant and precisely in my wheelhouse, I have loved seeing you learn an area you love. After all,” Cairu paused to give a little wink, “your continued happy optimism enhances the validity of my research.”

Within Lorehold, Rufus finds new friends and a new place of belonging. His impressive sense of smell helps him identify the origins of various artifacts and he soon becomes a mentor to other students.

Spells:

Leveled Spells: Thunderwave (an exceptionally loud bark)

Level 4: Rogue (Level 2)

One day, Rufus and a group of Lorehold students were playing a sport-like game that had once been played by an ancient civilization on Arcavios. Their activities were observed by Yovus, the captain of the Lorehold Mage Tower team. He was impressed by Rufus's Cunning Actions, easily dodging the other students as they ran around. There had recently been an opening in the team, as one of the team members had been selected to assist in an important archeological dig out in the Vastlands. After the game ended, Yovus approached Rufus, and offered him the chance to try out on the team. Of course, Rufus heartily accepted the invitation. The day came, and after some stiff competition between three other competitors and himself, he earned the spot on the team.

Level 5: Bard (Level 3)

After a year of lessons within the college, Rufus was prepared to enact the ritual that would summon an Ancient Companion. The day came, and even Rufus’s optimism couldn’t quite calm his nerves as he made his way to Effigy Row. After a moment of reflection, he sat back on his hind legs and drew out the sigils for “The Rousing” with his paws. The statue rumbled and cracked slightly, and then a golden light began to emanate from the stone. “Hello Rufus, I am she who is called Deianira. Past level 5, I would continue to build up Rufus’s abilities as a Rogue. I could see him taking either the Inquisitive or the Scout subclass as his roguish archetype: Inquisitive would play into his nature as a budding archeologist, while Scout would play into his abilities as a Mage Tower athlete and traveler into the wilds of Archavios.

01) Favorite game of the series?

Dragon Age 2. I love the bisexual disaster companions and how they have friends/relationships/lives outside of you. And I love Hawke and their tragic story. I also like having years passing with the same protagonist/companions instead of “my new companions and I had one crazy year together”. Plus fighting mechanics were my favorite in this game. 

02) How did you discover Dragon Age?

I saw gifs of Morrigan on tumblr years ago (back when DA2 was still new) and thought, “holy shit, she’s pretty I should play that”, and just never got around to it till a couple years later till when I saw a lot of gifs of default Marian Hawke and thought “she’s gorgeous and funny and I would die for her” (I still can’t believe I used to think I was straight...) and then found out she’s not till the second game so I hurried up and bought Origins to play first. Then got hooked, Origins has such a great story.

03) How many times you’ve played the games?

I’m on my 4th and 5th (playing simultaneously) playthroughs of Origins, I’ve played DA2 either 6 or 7 times. Inquisition I’ve only played once and I skipped most of the side missions because that game is so long.

04) Favorite race to play as?

Elf. I love dwarves a lot though and if they could do magic they’d easily be the fave. 

05) Favorite class?

Mage. I like healing and not having to get close to enemies. 

06) Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time?

I try to play differently each time and role play hard (ex: certain mage OC’s are only allowed to have skills in certain fields of magic even if it’s inconvenient for me, my traumatized-by-Carver’s-death Hawke who is triggered by seeing ogres can only “hold position” when one appears and I can only fight as the companions because she’s having a panic attack). In Origins I like to put someone different on the throne each time, side with mages once and templars the next, and have companions love/hate me according to my OC’s personality (and not cheat by using the Feast Day gifts). In DA2 I have a different personality Hawke each time and they make varying choices but in the end I have never sided with templars. I think in my 2nd Inquisition playthrough I’ll side with templars though out of curiosity. 

07) Go-to adventuring group?

Always depends on who is the love interest and who are the closest friends of my protagonist. Even if the team comp is terrible. 

08) Which of your characters did you put the most thought into?

Blue Surana was my first character ever so she’s had the longest time of me adding/subtracting/updating her and her story. That being said I like to think I’ve put a lot of thought into my Mahariel and Amell as well. Out of my Hawkes, Claira is the most developed. 

09) Favorite romance?

Fenris. 

10) Have you read any of the comics/books?

I've read all the comics and I’ve read “The Calling” and “The Last Flight” I plan to read the other books soon hopefully. 

11) If you read them, which was your favorite book?

I really recommend The Last Flight if you’re a die hard Grey Wardens fan like me. The main character inspired the name for my Mahariel. 

12) Favorite DLCs?

 I genuinely forgot Awakening is DLC since it came with my game but, yeah. I love all the companions in Awakening and I wish it were longer. “The Exiled Prince” is also another fave since I genuinely like Sebastian Vael and he’s a kickass squadmate. 

13) Things that annoy you.

The white-washing, what happened to Orsino, the way Inquisition doesn’t take into account Hawke could have been a blood mage, no healing as an Inquisition mage, the fucking Requisition Officer, the way you can’t be nicer to Sera, no dwarf romances, and how the Inquisitor can’t call Cullen out on certain things (Cassandra too, honestly, though I love her she can be really insensitive to other cultures). That’s just in the games, don’t even get me started on some of the fandom.

Worldstate 3 - Blood Mage/Spirit Healer/Entropy Mage, Leliana Romance, bisexual Alyss Amell (dies) + Shadow/Dual-Blade Rogue, Anders Romance, bisexual Claira Hawke

Multi-Warden AU: Blue Surana is main warden and recruits the others after Ostagar forming what I call the “Warden Squad”. Most thought-out world, that I have the most writing for but will probably never get around to writing the actual fic. We will see. Also, I need to make some Inquisitors for all these worldstates....they’re planned out I just need to force myself to actually play them. 

17) What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc)

Mabari’s: Rabbit (Blue Surana), Dog (Isseya Mahariel), Teddy (Alyss Amell), Tor (Akono Hawke),  Better Carver “BC” (Henley Hawke), Bear (Claira Hawke). Isseya Mahariel numbers her wolf and bear summons A-# for wolves and B-# for bears. 

18) Have you installed any mods?

I play on xbox so nah, sadly. 

19) Did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden?

Blue Surana didn’t want to leave the Circle and Isseya Mahariel didn’t want to give up searching for Tamlen so “no” for both of them, but they both were amazing at it. Alyss Amell, as much as it terrified her to leave to fight things, wanted to be free of Kinloch Hold. 

20) Hawke’s personality?

Akono is almost exclusively Purple though he has rare Blue moments when speaking to Carver or sometimes Fenris. 

Henley is solidly Red except maybe once or twice chose purple banter for talking to her only friend, Varric. 

Claira is the most varied in that she’s split 60-40 between Blue and Red, meaning well and wanting to be all good/peaceful, but having a wild, passionate temper when defending mages and her friends/family. I also headcanon she has the foulest mouth of my Hawkes though she actively tries to stop cursing it’s an unbreakable habit. She’s also a shameless flirt and hits that heart button almost every single time it comes up (I wouldn’t consider her Purple at all though since she isn’t sarcastic and is the type to laugh at jokes rather than make her own).  

21) Did you make matching armor for your companions in Inquisition?

I made Cole and I matching outfits because I love him ._.

22) If your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?

This could get long if I listed everyone so, Blue Surana regrets not telling Sten how she felt sooner, though she doubts it would have changed anything. Isseya Mahariel wishes Tamlen could have been found sooner so the Joining could have saved him. 

23) Do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon?

My entire Multi-Warden AU is a big “fuck you” to canon because all those potential wardens deserve to live dammit.

24) Who did you leave in the Fade?

In this house we do not leave Hawkes in the Fade. So, sorry Loghain :(

I legit forgot I had a mount 90% of the time. At least I got to hear more dialogue I guess.

Sooo I’ve seen a few Dragon Age stuff from you and it looks hella neat but I have no idea where to start (both in if I want to play one myself or watch a play through or ??)... any recommendations?

Dragon Age! I love the series, it’s one of my favourite trilogies! Let’s see!

There are (currently) three Dragon Age games and we’re waiting for the fourth of the series to possibly be released in the future. Dragon Age is a role-playing game set in the fantasy land of Thedas so if you’re into role-playing games that allow you to design your own hero, you might want to check it out. There are elves, dwarves, mages and (even tho not as many as you would expect) dragons! You essentially customize your own protagonist (you can play as either a female or a male) and play through the game following the provided storyline. You meet companions that join your party and travel with you which you can usually also choose to romance. Your decisions impact the gameplay, what happens later in the story and your relationship to your companions!

There are lots of mods for all the games so even for Origins, the first one, that has a rather limited CC, you can get more options.

1. Dragon Age Origins and Awakening (an after ending DLC) are the first of the series. Both are pretty old games and their graphics are outdated but they have the most solid storyline out of all three in my opinion and the main character we get to play, the Warden, might just be the one I love the most out of all three main protagonists.

You play as a newly recruited Warden, a warrior belonging to an ancient order that stands against monstrous forces known as Darkspawn, and tasked with defeating the Archdemon that commands them and ending their invasion to your lands. You can be an elf, a human or a dwarf and choose between different origin stories and classes for each race. The dialogue options in this game are just insane(ly good).

Bonus points for both Origins and the next game, you get your own dog that travels with you and fights by your side!

2. Dragon Age 2 is also rather old and the one that has received the most criticism but I really like it and I would personally never skip it. In this you play as Hawke, escaping your homeland with your family because of the Blight mentioned in the first game and trying to settle down in Kirkwall, a new city beyond the sea. You can only play this game as a human and can choose your class from warrior, mage and rogue but the relationship between your Hawke and the other companions as well as the romances are incredible.

3. Dragon Age Inquisition is the newest of these games and has really good graphics and also the side multiplayer feature if you want to play with friends. When a magical hole that lets demons in the world opens in the sky, you end up being the Inquisitor, the only one with the power needed to seal it. You can play as all the races here, including the Qunari (a big horned race of people) and the storyline is pretty interesting. I have put long hours of gameplay in this one. You can also ride mounts and craft your own armour and weapons in Inquisition!

Yeah, there are dorks in every single game.

I got the games from Origin, there are usually holiday sales that really push the prices down and will allow you to get both the base games and their DLC at once if you are interested. I’ve personally never watched playthroughs of the games but I have heard that there are some really good ones out there so if I hear about anything specific, I’ll send them your way. In the end, I think that if you like this kind of games or are interested in trying them out, Dragon Age will probably not disappoint you? I’m biased, I like these games so very much. Just make sure your system can handle them cause I’ve seen people getting the games only to find out they can’t actually play them on their consoles.

Dragon Age Questions

If I remember correctly, I was tagged for this by @nerdierholler , @red-wardens and @enchantment1385 ... Sorry it took me ages. Went travelling for a couple of weeks & got distracted.

1. Favourite game of the series?  I've spent the most time with Inquisition, but it's a tie between that and Origins. Can't choose. Both have their strengths and weaknesses – but I really love the story in both and, for me personally, they both do a great job creating that sense of connection with your character. DA2 is brilliant in its own way and I love it to bits – but it's the one that I feel the least compelled to revisit – and as much as I love my Hawke, I'm not as attached to him as I am to my Warden and my Inquisitor.

2. How did you discover Dragon Age?  Origins was on offer for a special price at GOG. Can't remember how much exactly, but it was really dirt cheap – a couple of bucks or so. And it was the Ultimate Edition, too! I'd heard about it before, so I gave it a shot – and I got hooked immediately.

3. How many times have you’ve played the games?  Not sure. I've finished Origins at least 5 times, DA2 2 times – and it's 2 times for Inquisition as well. Got a bunch of other playthroughs going right now. I'm a slow player.

4. Favourite race to play as?

Elves. City elves, if possible. (If the game doesn't give me a city elf protagonist, I just headcanon a city elf protagonist into existence. ;-p)

5. Favourite class? DAO: No clear favourite. But my canon Warden was a DW warrior (berserker/champion) – and he preferred longsword + dagger. DA2: Mage (not necessarily more fun than warrior or rogue – but I have a very strong preference for Carver). DAI: DW rogue. (Tempest. Tempest is so much fun!!)

6. Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time? I like to try out new routes and approaches. But I do have trouble leaving my comfort zone. Background stories help with that, but so far, most of my protags have been good-willed, sensible people – just with a bit of religious, political or some other kind of bias tossed in to spice things up a bit. There are many, many decisions and routes I've yet to take (and of course, they tend to be the darker, more confrontational ones).

7. Go-to adventuring group? DAO: Zevran is the only constant, to be honest. Otherwise I switch it up a lot. But Wynne, Shale and Morrigan are my favourites. Sten is pretty cool, too. (I love the dog – but no banter, so he stays guarding the camp...:-)) DA2: Fenris/Anders, Varric, Merrill. DAI: It really depends on my character, the current quest/location – and my mood. But I tend to favour Dorian, Bull, Blackwall, Solas, Sera, and Varric.

8. Which of your characters did you put the most thought into?

That would be Dasahngaris. I've spent a lot of time figuring out both him and Lennan – and they are both still works in progress. But Lenn dies at the end of his adventure, so there's a much shorter span of years to cover.

9. Favourite romance?  I have quite a few faves, but if I absolutely had to choose just one, I'd choose Zevran.

10. Have you read any of the novels or comics/??  Not yet. But I plan to.

11. If you read them, which was your favourite ??  Ask me again once I've read them.

12. Favourite DLCs?  I've enjoyed most DLCs for both Origins and Inquisition immensely (I still need to play the DA2 ones). But it's gotta be Trespasser.

13. Things that annoy you?  Not being able to jump in Origins and DA2. Relative lack of cool hair and eyebrow options. (No, they're not ALL horrible, but I guess we can all agree that especially Inquisition could have done a lot better in that department.) No city elf protagonist in DAI. All those bloody human nobles. FUCK HUMAN NOBLES, gimme a peasant/mercenary/slum apostate/a perfectly ordinary templar/Chasind hunter... (I mean I get why that option is there but why it's gotta be the only option for every single human character? Even the damned human mage is a sodding aristocrat. Even Hawke is, on his mum's side. I swear if DA4 gives us a fucking human noble again, I'm gonna scream.)

14. Orlais or Ferelden?  I love them both, actually. Ferelden for all the obvious reasons (dogs, cool weather, a *relatively* egalitarian society) - and Orlais for its French baroque inspirations, elite culture and the Game. (I mean yeah, the Game is kinda appalling in many respects, but it makes for a great story/gameplay. (If it came down to war, I'd definitely side with whoever didn't start it. And let's be real here, that would probably be Ferelden.)

15. Templar’s or Mages?  Moderately pro-Mage. I am not necessarily anti-Templar and I do maintain there are shades of grey to the whole conflict – but let's just say I'm certainly not pro-Templar either.

16. If you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one?  Lennan Tabris, Keenan Hawke and Das Davarris exist in the same world state. Most of my Inquisitors are, in fact, Inquisitor!AUs for supporting characters in Das's backstory. (Fennas, Ranna and Salshira are all prominent members of clan Lavellan in Das's timeline. Sheva is part of his Rivaini family. Yevren is one of the chief researchers at the Soldier's Peak.) Then there's the alternative world state with a Warden that survives: Dionn Mahariel shares that timeline with Abarran Hawke. I've yet to decide who will be the Inquisitor – but it's not going to be any of the prominent players from Das's story. It's probably going to be Qerim or Kaigal... But I might also make a new one.

17. What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc.)  Lennan's mabari is called Tickles. Keenan Hawke's dog is named Baryk (it's kinda funny if you're Czech). I hardly ever use the mounts in Inquisition. I think Das does use them for longer trips – but I suspect he uses different ones for different destinations (wouldn't make much sense to ride a hart into Hissing Wastes, I guess) and doesn't have a clear favourite. They either already have names when they are bought by or gifted to the Inquisition – or it's Dennet who names them. (Das likes to hang around the stables, bond with the animals and help Dennet take care of them if he can – but he's a very busy elf.)

8. Have you installed any mods?  Yes. Many. Usually cosmetic ones. But I also have the 99 potions mod for Inquisition (Is it cheating? Yeah. Does that bother me? Nah.) - and the shortcut mods for Origins (Fade and Deep Roads are awesome, but I've spent enough time running around both on my first couple of playthroughs – and I prefer to skip them now). I also have that mod that adds a cutscene with the Warden's LI after the battle of Denerim. I don't enjoy playing females much, so I've installed bi Alistair and equal opportunity Solas – but I have uninstalled them both. Alistair just doesn't give me bi vibes (if you headcanon him as bi, go ahead and power to you, but I don't feel it), so it felt odd. And while I totally headcanon Solas as bi, there are all those little immersion-breaking details like the missing sound files and the animation issues. I figured I'd better play the vanilla romance first. I need to play girls a bit more often anyway.

19. Did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden?       Lennan didn't mind. It was better than the alternative. But that was before he was more or less put in charge. He sure didn't want THAT. Dionn was not a fan of the idea at first, but he came to terms with it pretty fast. Again – it was better than the alternative. And he actually enjoyed leading.

20. Hawke’s personality?  Keenan was very purple with the occasional flashes of red – and a broad blue streak (though in his case it generally meant being a smooth talker rather than being genuinely nice). Abarran is mostly blue, with a bit of red tossed in for good measure and some purple-coating for fun.

21. Did you make matching armour for your companions in Inquisition?  Hell no!

22. If your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?  Lennan Tabris: *chuckles bitterly* (He wouldn’t know where to start.) Keenan Hawke: "I can’t go back, so what is even the point of asking such questions..." (You can’t possibly ask him to choose between the three family members he believes he failed. Also, as much as he hates himself for it, he would be equally tempted to use such opportunity to kill Petrice the first time she crossed him.) Das Davarris: "I'm done with that kind of fuckery. Time travel, I mean. Even if I could, I wouldn't."

23. Do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon?  Yep. Most of them minor. The bigger ones: Loghain is recruited and Alistair ends up a drunk – but Loghain eventually dies in the Deep Roads (loyal to his duty as a Warden till the bitter end). Alistair manages to pull himself together – just in time for a meet up with the Inquisitor. It is a fairly recent change in my canon timeline. Keenan Hawke finds out he is terminally ill sometime in Act III. My Lavellan is actually city-born and Andrastian. Sheva is a non-Dalish Rivaini elf. Neither of my Trevelyans is actually a Trevelyan. One of them is an elf-blooded peasant girl, the other is a Chasind warrior.

24. Are any of your character(s) based on someone?  Well, it's complicated... Lennan started out being vaguely based on another character of mine, from a different setting. He's pretty much shed that old skin a long time ago. So I'd say that no, he's not. Not anymore. Keenan wasn't at the beginning – but as I started to figure him out, he got heavily influenced by the cast of Withnail & I (I love that movie too bloody much). Mostly he's an even mix of Withnail and Marwood, but there's a lot of Danny in there as well. (If you  don't know Withnail & I, google it.) Das was very loosely based on an old D&D character I used to play during my first two years at university. He's got the name and the most prominent physical traits (red hair, dark skin, amber eyes, scarred face) – but that's about it. None of my main protagonists has a face-claim. Some of my secondary characters do – but I made none of those with their current face claims in mind.

25. Who did you leave in the Fade?  I've left both Hawke and the Warden in the past, but on my canon run I left Hawke behind. 

26. Favourite mount?  Bog unicorn! (It may not be my Inky's favourite mount, but it is MY favourite mount.)

i LOVE da2. dao was really cool but in da2, especially w/the characters, i felt at home. i just love the dynamic between hawke and the kirkwall crew so much. 

2. how did you discover dragon age? 

through tumblr i think. my dad had played dao and da2 before, so he was the one to formally recommend it to me about a year ago, but i was already wanting to play from y’all’s posts about it. i love fantasy and story-based games so much and it sounded perfect for me.

3. how many times you’ve played the games?

i haven’t actually finished dai yet.i’ve played dao and da2 once each fully and am in the middle of a second playthrough with the same character in each one. as i said before, i really haven’t been playing that long. i shall finish dai one day but my computer is way too slow and it has such long load times so usually i don’t even bother.

5. favourite class?

i’ve never actually played a mage before, i’m just realizing. someday i’d like to play a surana. but both my warden and inquisitor are warriors, and my hawke is a rogue. i just love swords.

not yet, at least. i’m really attached to both my warden and inquisitor, but not my hawke, so i’m willing to change my choices for da2. for some reason i can’t make different choices on the same character. one day, after not playing dragon age for a little while, i’ll make new characters.

Since Lei Shen’s defeat on the Isle of Thunder, a large splinter faction of Mogu have broken away from the rest, disillusioned with their purpose and the Mogu’s supposed “superiority”. They released the imprisoned females and together they escaped and founded a new home on an island between Zandalar and Pandaria. Here the now humbled former rulers have learned to practice a new, more modest way of life and take great pride in it, having learned from their mistakes and the foolishness in seeking power. However upon the discovery of Azerite on the island, the news brought the Alliance and Horde to their shores. Some of the Mogu wanted to rekindle their friendship with the Zandalari and joined the Horde, while others blamed the Zandalari for leading them to ruin and decided to join the Alliance.

1. Favourite game of the series? Dragon Age II. Yeah yeah yeah It’s the worst of the three by default but I still love it for what it is. It was my first exposure to the series and I will always have a special place for it in my heart.

2. How did you discover 🐉 Age? I was recording a youtube series where I would rent a game from my local library and film two hours of me playing, then edit it down to 20 minute videos. I went to my library to get a different game, but it was rented by someone else before I got there. I still needed to do another video so I grabbed DA2 off the shelf.

3. How many times have you’ve played the games? That’s funny, I was literally just talking about this question with @marvel-maven earlier today. I’ve played Origins 5 times all the way through and Inquisition 8 times all the way through. I’m not sure how many times I’ve played DA2, but I think it’s around 10.

4. Favourite race to play as?

Elf. I’m basic.

5. Favourite class? DAO: Warrior DA2: Mage DAI: Archery Rogue

6. Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time? Mostly the same. Although I made some very different choices with Tara Tabris because she’s a very different character.

I also approach Inquisition differently between Evelyn and Moira. Evelyn is funny and a little cynical, but Moira is happy and always trying to do the right thing. Major story beats are usually the same though.

7. Go-to adventuring group? DAO: Alistair, Leliana, Morrigan DA2: Varric, Aveline, Bethany (later Merrill or Isabela)

8. Which of your characters did you put the most thought into?

I’d say the ones I’ve put the most effort into are Mari Hawke and Evelyn Lavellan.

9. Favourite romance? Harding! And Leliana.

10. Have you read any of the comics/📚? 

I haven’t.

11. If you read them, which was your favourite 📓? I haven’t.

12. Favourite DLCs? TRESPASSER! I mean, the music would make it my favorite on it own but the story is also great!

All of them are in the same universe. Sophia, Gillan, and Tara all go on their Origins. All my inquisition characters are involved, even if Evelyn is the only “Inquisitor”

Even my other Hawke Lyra is in the same universe but in a very different context, she’s the daughter of my main Hawke Mari.

17. What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc.) 

Sophia’s mabari is named “Chupacabra” because she wanted him to be larger than life and intimidating and also a little mysterious. (and since they are on the same storyline, Gillan and Tara don’t have dogs)

Mari’s mabari is named “Rory”.

Evelyn has a horse named Shadow prior to Inquisition, and during Inquisition she has a horse named Henry.

8. Have you installed any mods? 

I can’t because I am console bound. I had a tumblr mutual who remade Evelyn with mods (though I think they may no longer be on tumblr?)

Sophia - Yes

Gillan - No, but she accepted it

Tara - Not remotely

20. Hawke’s personality?

Blue. She’s very polite and caring, but she’s also very emotional and sensitive.

21. Did you make matching armour for your companions in Inquisition?

Nope. Other than the Nightmare run I did in Inquisition where all my companions HAD to wear the best armor possible so they all matched.

22. If your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?

Off that’s a loaded question.

Sophia would have killed Howe before he could kill her parents.

Gillan wouldn’t change anything exactly, but she would want to see who her parents were and why they left her behind as a newborn

Tara would have stopped herself from falling in love. That was the beginning of everything going wrong in her life. Or if there was a way she could have saved her child that died in childbirth, she would have done anything to save him.

Mari might have considered changing her past, but in the end, she met her friends through all the conflicts she experienced. In the end, she wouldn’t change it.

Evelyn would joke about changing things to make herself look better, but deep down she would want to give herself a second chance to reconcile with her father.

Moira wouldn’t change anything.

23. Do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon?

Mari has a lot of little canonical discrepancies. The events in DA2 happen a little quicker than the canon, so instead of three years in between acts, there is only one year in between act 1 and act 2, and only 6 months in between act 2 and act 3. I mostly did that because it felt right for Mari’s development, especially when I started working with the idea of her having a daughter during Inquisition. I know it creates an awkwardly long period between DA2 and DAI concerning the whole mage uprising and Templars rebelling from the Chantry, but at the same time I kinda like playing with the idea that it’s a bit like the Cold War during that period.

24. Are any of your character(s) based on someone? 

Gillan is based on and named after the actress Karen Gillan.

25. Who did you leave in the Fade?

Stroud.

26. Favourite mount? 

Evelyn always used just a normal brown horse. She didn’t like him at first, but even after getting new mounts, she still liked him.

Moira had a nugalope.

Hmm..it’s different for all three games. DAO it’s a tie between a blood mage/mage for the explodey AOEs and a sword and shield warrior (mmm yess give me Bara smacking people with her shield so hard they stagger back you’re doing great sweetie). DA2 it’s a two handed warrior because mmm yes a strong woman swinging a big ass sword around and for DAI it’s an archer because...I don’t have a reason.

Oh god... see, I do that thing where I listen to a song over and over again until it loses it appeal. BUT Primadonna by Marina and the Diamonds will always be special to me. I first heard it during a really bad time in my life, where I was really down on myself, so hearing this song (and the rest from the Electra Heart album) where someone just... unapologetically loves themself first and foremost was... amazing. I get that it wasn’t the point of the song series, that Electra Heart is actually kind of miserable, but it still helped me get hooked on narcissism. 

3. please share a random controversial opinion.

Oh gee. 

Vo/tron..... is overrated and I’m tired of seeing it. Especially since it seems like 90% of the fandom is involved in shipping discourse bullcrap.

1. What fictional character do you relate to the most?

As of late? Captain Jack Sparrow and Wheatley. And always Rapunzel (Tangled).

2. Watercolors or acrylics?

I prefer alcohol markers actually, since I haven't spent much time working with either, but I suppose watercolors :)

3. Dream trip to anywhere in the world.

London, Paris, Venice.... and like all of Canada. Just for funzies.

4. Favorite plant/flower?

Lilies, Irises and pink-to-peach roses

5. Hogwarts House?

Proud Ravenclaw!!

6. Any pets? (or dream pets?)

Yes! I have two dogs: Radar (mine that I post about sometimes) is a Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix and my sister's doggo Tinkerbell/Tink who is a Jack Russel/Yorkshire Terrier mix but I've also always wanted a Horny Toad (Bearded Dragon)! I've been in love with them since I was a kid in AZ.

7. Rogue, mage, or warrior?

Rogue. At least that's what all my personality tests say xD

8. Do you like ghost stories?

To a certain extent, yes. Ouija boards are a no-no for me but anything else is a-okay.

10. What does your dream home look like?

Two stories, open floor plan, lots of big windows to let in as much light as possible at all hours, even (and especially) in the night. I love the moon. Anyway, wooden floors, four bedrooms at least, a big kitchen complete with two ovens and a gas range, and a studio with a balcony. Oh and a good sized backyard for Radar to run around in, and maybe a tree in the front for a tire swing. Guess I better marry rich or get famous reeaaaaally quick
