No, you remembered right! I was hanging onto it for a while in case anyone wanted to make requests for a second fandom, but I never actually got any secondary prompt requests, so i decided to wait until the end of the challenge instead.

If I ever run the challenge again, I would probably keep some of the same AUs on the master list just because I chose classics for a reason, but I might randomize which ones stay in and which ones get replace just for an extra layer of roulette.

Meta Knight doesn't have Mouthful-mode in my particular AU- Combo-mode is more Sworn Partner-flavored which is I why I went with it. But also for some reason I literally cannot bring myself to draw Meta consuming automobiles and vending machines. Too wild of a concept for me! But if anyone reading this is capable of doing so, I welcome the possibility HAHA

I had to hold onto this ask for a while because you gave me some really good food for thought! As of now I don't have plans to swap any of them since they don't play a big part in the comic but if I get struck by divine inspiration, I'll have you to thank for putting the idea in my head!

Stubborn knight!! I think he's so used to being self-sufficient that he dislikes being "coddled" by others and prefers to take things into his own hands. This is actually something the comic will explore down the line! I've interpreted some other possible reasons why he's so stubborn about this but it will have to be revealed in the future ;)

The above were my very first Roleswap drawings back in April 2022! It was born purely out of my desire to see a badass Bandee boss fight and I had just finished the Forgotten Land game. I started at the top and ended up with the designs at the bottom right- with a few additional changes these became the final versions! I wanted him to have more of an Awoofy silhouette since I figured they're a great equivalent to Popstar's Waddle Dees!

An AU creation fun fact: I initially just swapped Bandee and Dedede! I drew the above that same month- this is supposed to be the cutscene before the Winter Horns boss where the big reveal happened! Kirby was P1 and Dedede was P2. I didn't even create Roleswap Elfilis yet!

But the more I explored the possibilities, the more roles I swapped. It took me like another month to actually have the Sworn Partners be the "playable" characters, shuffle the Beast Pack around, and finish the rest of the swaps.

That was a long-winded way of saying, thanks for liking Roleswap Bandee!! I owe the little Awoofy Dee a lot because without him I wouldn't be having a blast making this AU!!

Ahh thank you so very much!! Combo moves were so fun to make haha. I love some good teamwork.

And yes, I love writing their dynamic too! I figured if they already understood each other perfectly at the beginning of the story, it would be kinda boring. Don't get me wrong, they are already pretty close in the beginning- enough to tease and be prickly idiots with each other while still maintaining that respect between them! :P But they are going to have some nice opportunities to get to know each other better, build even more trust, and reach a deeper understanding~! <3

When it comes to the whole override thing, Chip just. Goes absolutely wild at night sometimes. He's a werewolf!!! But. literally since he's already a wolf. this was also photon's idea thank you photooooon heehee <3

Misty has her weather powers still! So she can still change weather phases and essentially smite people with lightning if they make her really mad lol

Unfortunately both toons are outcast because of their respective 'quirks'. However, to their surprise, one person does support them through it all! They weren't expecting it to be this absolute nervous wreck of a cog who is, surprisingly, very very silly and toon-like! She clings to them like glue, but they appreciate it so much!! I feel like toon Chip and toon Misty would both be very sad very lonely toons, perhaps becoming more prone to bouts of low laff and poor health as such from such a poor mental state. However, they've got each other now and Chelly too!! Just like how the normal toon Chelly's health was pretty shit due to her mental state but improved having Chip and Misty around, she's now able to pay that love back ten-fold in this au!! Hehe it always comes back to 'love heals' with me <3

Opening Cutscene 

The Toons enter the doors at the far back of the building, leading them to the real cog clinic inside. The Mechanician is seen speaking to a Flunky. Neither cog seems to notice their approach, as they are focused on their consultation while the Toons get closer.

“...and that should do it then, little sprout!”

 “Are you sure this is alright, Ms. Honeywell? Wouldn’t the Chairman get angry over that?”

At the Flunky’s concerns, the Mechanician fiddles with her hands. She shakes her head before re-addressing the Flunky.

“...R-Right. He may see it as ‘slacking’, but… well. You know how I feel about that. Just… try to heed my instructions to the best of your ability.” 

“Whatever you have the room to do, okay, bud? Remember, your health comes first.”

“Yes, ma’am! Thank you again.”

The Flunky begins to fly away, and with a nod, she sees him off.

“Of course. Come back any time!”

The Mechanician sighs, shaking her head.

“Ugh. You’d think that man-baby would realize sooner… without us all, he’s…-”

She trails off, turning upon noticing the Toons. She startles, letting out a squeak at their presence, but tries to relax herself to make conversation with them.

“Ah! T-Toons?! Uh- Ahem.” 

“Um… hello there! Are you… perhaps here for a check-up? I apologize, but… um, ahaha.. I-I only know how to treat cogs.”

“Unless you… have an appliance in need of fixing? I can do that too…”

The Toons get angry. The Mechanician pulls her hands up to her chest, taking a few steps back, clearly nervous.

“Eep! O-Okay, message received… U-Um… oh, look! Is that, um, a doodle pup?”

The Mechanician gestures behind the toons. The Toons turn around to look, all confused when they see nothing. The Mechanician begins tip-toeing away while they’re distracted. One toon looks back at her and exclaims as they see her try to sneak away. She yelps and breaks into a panicked sprint, running off into another, much larger room room further in the building. The Toons make chase.

She runs into a storage room and to an emergency escape door. However, before she reaches it, a stick of TNT thrown by a toon lands in front of the door. She startles and stumbles away from it before it explodes. The exit is now unusable. She turns, and the toons have caught up to her.

“Oh no… wait, h-hold on..! Surely we can talk things out civilly, r-right?! I… I really don’t want to fight you!”

The Toons refuse and begin to approach, the Mechanician backing up towards the wall as they close in.

“N-No, please!! I don’t want to hurt anyone… please don’t make me! I… someone, help!!”

The Mechanician reaches into her pocket, pulling out a panic button and pressing it with shaking hands. Once she does, two cogs promptly fly into the room, landing at the Mechanician’s sides. The battle begins.

Ending Cutscene (Mercy)

The Mechanician reaches to her power core, hand hovering over it shakily. She is clearly in immense pain, her panic now reaching a boiling point as she realizes how injured she really is. Suddenly, her hands clench into fists and she quakes through the pain, knocking the toons off their feet. The quake doesn’t damage the toons, however.

“STOP!!!! THAT.. IS QUITE.. ENOUGH!!!”

She shakes her head, pulling her hands to her chest protectively and looking at the Toons as they rise to their feet.

“Why…?! I’ve been clear from the beginning that I didn’t want to fight! But… B-But you just won’t LISTEN!”

Her hands rise, holding her head in distress.

“Wh-What do you even get from this… from hurting me?!”

The Toons do nothing.

“I… I get it. This war. It… must be so stressful on you. On all of you.”

“B-But… I’ve been careful… so, so careful!”

The Mechanician turns her head, looking away from the toons for a moment before turning back to them.

“I… I know we’re *supposed* to fight toons, but… I’ve never seen the point. All of this violence is ridiculous to me.”

“All I’ve ever wanted was to stay on the sidelines, and to help those who were hurt.”

“I mean… I’ve never even gone out and fought toons before, anyhow! ...So… why? W-Why me?”

The Toons do nothing.

“...Ah. So that’s why. You see me as a threat… because of what I do for my fellow suits?”

The Mechanician shakes her head in disappointment.

“Have you Toons ever put yourselves in a Suit’s shoes? A-At least… just for a moment?”

“If you did, you’d understand. I… I understand the plight you Toons go through.”

“However, you’re not the only ones suffering. Whether they fall low or high on the chain of command… we all hurt, just the same.”

She pauses, wincing in pain herself. She’s visibly twitching and glitching out.

“Wh-What, do you think we deserve for our pain to stick forever? That no-obody should help us when we’re hurt?”

“......”

“Could you i-i-imagine it yourself? Feeling like gravity’s about to crush you… i-into small, mushy, toony bits?” 

“Where… where all yo-o-ou can do is panic, and hope? Because, at th-that point, there’s nothing you can do? No way to mov-ve, or call out… or anything.”

“...You’d want your fe-ellow toons to help you when you’re hur-ur-hurt and scared, wouldn’t you?”

The Toons do nothing.

“...Right. I’d h-hope so. At the mo-oment it may be all f-fun and games… and I wish it st-stayed that way. B-B-But we.. all know that isn’t the case.”

The Mechanician sighs, twitching more heavily than before.

“...”

“W-Well… perhaps this experience has.. given you some food for thought.”

The Mechanician pauses, seeing an opening in the roof from the battle. She looks at the Toons one last time, expression saddened.

“Now… i-if… if you’ll ex-excuse me. Seems… this repairwoman… n-needs some repairing, herself. Please… if you can help it… d-don’t come back.”

The Mechanician moves to fly away, but one of the toons walks ahead of the group, pausing near her. She pauses, watching the toon for a moment, before nodding.

“It’s okay, I understand. I-I-IIIIIIIIIII-”

“..I forgive you.”

The Mechanician flies away.

Ending Cutscene (Defeat)

The Mechanician reaches to her power core, hand hovering over it shakily. She is clearly in immense pain, her panic now reaching a boiling point as she realizes how injured she really is. Suddenly, her hands clench into fists and she quakes through the pain, knocking the toons off their feet.

[Sorry no specific Cheats past the usual ‘Cog Capacity’ and ‘Lure Resistance’ ones because my brain is kind of melting right now lol. Also no specific damages listed with each attack besides what I already said above about the minimum and maximum for the same reason.]

Background ships/dynamics are great - just make sure minoade are the focus.

Some Notes

"Meta Gimmicks" refers to anything about gameplay (originally it was "Gameplay Gimmicks") that brushes up against the fourth wall; ex. characters' flexible knowledge of their damage/stats, skill/weapon names, calls back or forward in ~ludonarrative~ elements.

"Monster AU" includes the subgenre of "Minoth with extra features" such as horns or equine legs; in other words, the "monster" component need not exist in a wholly alternate universe evocative of halloween horror, but instead can build onto the inherent horror elements of Minoth's status as a Blade and Flesh Eater. Too, mermaid/centaur/vampire can give you some inspiration, here.

For "Fusion AU" the intent is for entries to feature a proper fandom fusion - say, Star Trek in specific, rather than space odyssey at large. A Zelda fusion would perhaps contain some elements of Fantasy, but should be adequately differentiated. Including characters from either fandom in the fusion is fair game - whatever helps you paint the setting.

I didn't include a space for death/bereavement, but that can of course fit within several of the other prompts related to such abstract endpoints of life. Please, feel free to embellish and improvise just about as much as you wish.

Sharing Work

I will not be creating a separate Tumblr for this event; however, I post sparingly enough on my main Tumblr, here @dukeofdumbass, that I intend to simply reblog entries here. On Twitter, I will be sharing the event announcement on my variously-pruned main Twitter @dukeofdumbass and retweeting entries on my former bot (I cleared my crontab before it was cool ;) @floraminoade. To keep things consistent, the event tag will be MinoadeMay, in CamelCase, on both Twitter and Tumblr. Please @ mention either/any of my accounts to make your participation clear. BNHA Rewrite 1A: The Minor Characters

And finally, the background characters.

Mashiro Ojiro - Lion Dance

First off, his Quirk is called Lion Tail, a combo of his mother’s Leomorph Quirk and his father’s Monkey Tail.

Beyond the tail, he has claws, sharp teeth, and longer toes that afford him better grip.

Prefers Wado-Ryu Karate & Monkey Style Kung Fu.

Slightly more aggressive, always up for a challenge.

Grew up in a dojo, son of two martial artists. Skilled poet, Tokoyami is jealous.

While his tail tuft is blonde, his hair is actually black and dyed to match.

Sparring partners and friends with Uraraka, alongside Kirishima, Sato, & Hagakure.

Best martial artist in 1A, neck in neck with Nirengeki for best in First Year.

Tooru Hagakure - Transluminescent

Her costume is made from her hair (like Mirio’s).

Pink & blue crystalline bodysuit and pocket skirt.

Trans rights.

Much better handle on her light refraction abilities, and buff as hell.

Got through the Entrance Exam by blinding a drone, ripping off a leg and going to town.

This includes fast twitch muscles, (granting him limited superspeed) and the brain (Though, combined with the drawback it usually ends up a net neutral)

Looks up to O’Clock. Midoriya’s convinced he could mimic O’Clock’s powers.

Best friends w/ Ojiro & Kirishima.

Koji Koda - Anivoice

His Quirk is named Nature’s Call.

Borders between talking and and command.

Selectively mute, but has trouble with JSL due to his face hampering traditional facial expressions. Still, JSL buddies with Jirou, Bakugo & Shinso.

Still growing the ‘Antennae’ that would allow him to use his Quirk telepathically.

Gets along surprisingly well with Kaminari & Shinso.

Has a crush on Jirou.

Okay, here me out:

Relatively standard roleswap, Slayer Nezuko & Demon Tanjiro, maybe with Nezuko wielding some derivative of Water and/or Flame Breathing (I’m partial to Vine or Magma for the name) but the big changes are her first two companions:

Genya Shinazugawa: An aggressive, cagey, but ultimately noble & kind Slayer who lacks a Breathing form, though he makes up for it any other way he can, like guns, repetitive actions, poisons and a surprisingly keen tactical mind. And his demon eating ability, though he tends to keep it under wraps for somewhat obvious reasons.

Muichirou Tokito, a…loopy if nice amnesiac Mist Breather with a tendency to zone out and is generally regarded as having the survival instincts of a lemming, save for moments where he either hyper focuses or loses touch with reality altogether (there’s genuine debate on the matter) and busts out moves worthy of a Hashira.

Their age mates among the core are Aoi & Senjuro (mostly unchanged, but I might swap them out for each other) The ruthless tsuguko Inosuke, Zenitsu ( who I’m unsure of. The Genya to Kaigaku’s Sanemi? Another Tsuguko? Someone like Aoi or Senjuro?) and the seemingly emotionless youngest Hashira, Kanao Tsuyuri…

BNHA HC of the day: Dabi & Nine were both Shigaraki’s ‘backups’ that were seen in Chapter 350, kids whose Quirks strained their bodies, and thus would provide ample experiments for Garaki’s body strengthening procedure.

Six, meanwhile, was essentially an attempt to create a body from scratch.

Nine was the only survivor, at least partially because Touya (Four) burnt down the orphanage.

Villain Deku Idea: Singularity

Admittedly, this is more a Quirk Idea than an actual character, but I still want to put it out there.

A DFO AU where Izuku’s power is a true hybrid of AFO & Pull, able to steal Quirks at a distance...but with a twist.

The Quirk, “Singularity” acts similar to a power exhibited by the character Eidolon from the web serial Worm, which allowed the character in question to essentially drain the overarching “superpower provider” so to say, of other superhumans. 

When Singularity is triggered, it begins to "Pull in” nearby Quirks, lessening the potency of Emitter & Transformation types while complex Mutants begin to recede, leaving the normal human underneath. Izuku in turn can begin to use these powers in ever increasing potency, until Singularity is turned off, the victim leaves the Quirk’s area of effect, or they are left essentially Quirkless. 

Quirk usage increases the rate of draining, and more powerful Quirks take longer to drain. The big catch is, the draining is only temporary, and once Singularity is released, or they get far enough away, the drained Quirks will return their owners...

...Unless they’re killed before Singularity ends. 

The other big catch is that when the original wielder is killed, Izuku only gets the  power he drained, and not the full Quirk, and he can’t stack Quirks like AFO, though he can use enhancers to buff up his other powers, and he can only use three of his powers at once.

It cannot be stolen by AFO, and does not directly affect AFO (though both can drain each other’s stolen Quirks) or OFA

For your first question, yeah! She does exists on that AU on 31's spot, as GiW experiment instead of Vlad's. Haven't figure out how to get them to meet yet bc honestly, her first instinct after getting out of GiW is to just skip town instead of going to the Fentons' lol

Hmmm, their relationship probably would be a bit awkward/distant at first. Because Dani is an imperfect clone while 31 is a near perfect one albeit some minor details, Vlad would treat these two very differently.

Dani is very attached to Vlad in canon, so she would be jealous of 31; while 31 probably envy how free Dani is compared to him (aka don't have to be around Vlad the whole time). But I can see them being very close once they actually like talk and get to know each other.

And yeah, 31 would have chosen to travel with Dani instead of the Fentons because he wouldn't have to do so alone. Neither of them know a single thing about how the outside world works but at least they can figure it out together~

Also Dani would be the one keeping an eye on 31 to keep him safe, if only bc she's faster at punching and biting ppl than 31 lmao

i know this isnt an orginal idea by any means but roleswap!narumitsu is just so good

so youll have to indulge me because this lives in my head rent free and i want to write it down concretely somewhere (also this gets LONG so ill pop a cut in here)

alright so:

1. at least in my writing of it, this is also a no-dl6/gregory lives au. but as well at that, miles and phoenix didnt go to school together

2. this means that there was nobody to defend phoenix at the class trial (yes i know the money stolen was edgeworths but shhh lets pretend it was someone elses, kay?) this lead to phoenix becoming not only bitter, but somewhat obsessive over the idea of punishing people that do wrong

(if someone can find that quote where phoenix talks about how he could have become a prosecutor because of the trial i will give u a gentle kiss on the forehead) 

3. Edgeworth was raised by Gregory and ends up becoming a defense attorney

4. in this, Von Karma goes down and Franzy is adopted by Gregory, and she assists Miles in his cases. (she can still have a whip, as a treat.)

5. anyway with that set up, lets get into some cases

6. Larry gets accused of Cindys murder, Miles defends with Franzy

7. Lets say Mia was in the crowd of that trial and decided to contact miles, seeing as he appears to be another uncorrupt lawyer and asks him for his help in taking down Redd White

8. He agrees, and she sets a time for him to meet at her office so they can talk. Mia then calls her sister and updates her on how shes going to recruit another person (Redd White hears this)

9. Much like the original case, Mia gets murdered, but this time, Maya isnt here to be blamed. Instead, its Miles himself, as the name that White heard over the phone (so basically we’re speed running to the “defend yourself in court” part)

10. the prosecutor today is Phoenix Wright.

11. but before that lets go into some backstory actually. Phoenix had encountered Mia previously during the Terry Fawles case. He had respected her as a peer, if not for just her determination and deductive skills. (After all, he was young at the time and solely focused on punishing the wicked) After Diego’s poisoning, he had briefly reached out for condolences

12. but anyway, Phoenix had distantly respected Mia, and now that she was dead, he was going to be tough on whoever he thought murdered her.

13. Miles proves his innocence, although it takes some baiting to get Redd White out of his building and actually into court. 

14. Wright is... not pleased about this, but theres not much he can do. His displeasure for Mias murder has shifted, but theres a new displeasure for Miles, the man who could beat him in court. (”well well well, you managed to save your own skin. But you should hope you get as lucky as you did in your next case”)

15. Next case! We know Miles is a steel samurai fan, so even without Maya it takes very little convincing for him to take the case. (Fran is not as amused but trusts her brother... enough.. to follow his lead)

16. Case proceeds mostly as normal, with Phoenix requiring Dee to re-do her testimony (maybe something deep within him still itches to put the true bad guy away, even if its harder than the accused)

17. I dont think Phonix would deliver the unnecessary feelings line, although there definetely is that moment in the lobby where hes like “hm. maybe you arent a bad person, but that doesnt mean i have to like you.”

18. and now, now now now, we finally get to the part where i somehow managed to put the most thought into. (for context it is nearly 2 am when i am writing this)

19. sleep schedule aside, you couldnt have thought i would made this WITHOUT some good angst, so here we go. case four is similarly structured to the original, but with an extra side of Phoenix angst.

20. Miles wakes up to Franzy shaking him. She points to the television. the news is on, but the voices are drowned out by a distant ringing as he stares at the image on the screen.

21. it just doesnt make sense. So he gets out of bed and into the closest clothes he can find and out the door with his sister in tow. He sits in the cold detention room, thinking about the other side of the glass.

22. Phoenix Wright looks dull. He asks what they want. Miles says he wants an explanation. Wright sneers and asks why. For some reason, that pisses Miles off. He slams his badge to the glass and Wright looks surprised.

“Do you know what this is? It’s my attorneys badge.”

“the badge doesnt mean youre a good lawyer.”

“Well Mr Wright, its 2-0, so i dont think you have any right to say that.” Miles glares at him and Wright sits back in his seat. He watches Miles for a long time.

“If im going to defend you, you need to tell me what happened.“ Wrights eyebrows shoot up and Franziska squawks at his side

“What do you mean defend him!”

“What she said.”

Miles narrows his eyes at Wright as he ponders to himself the answer. Why is he doing it? the answer comes to him. 

“Because i dont believe you did it.”

For all his snark, Miles cant bring himself to believe that the man in front of him would kill someone. Theres something about him, either in his eyes or the way he carries himself that makes the idea itself preposterous. Wright looks at him for a long time after he says it.

“Very well.”

21. Miles doesnt seem him until court, but at least he testifies. The next person up, a red head by the name of Melissa Foster, gives a testimony that seems airtight.

22. that is, until he looks over at Phoenix, who is pale as he looks at the woman on the witness stand. Phoenix catches his eye, and very carefully, very slowly, mouths one name.

Dahlia Hawthorne

23. (I really wish i could continue with the more narrative parts of this but im honestly running out of steam and ill get to the point lol. Maybe ill finish it later.)

24. Terry Fawles dies on the stand. Diego Armando falls into a coma. Dahlia Hawthorne walks free. Even after what happened to Diego, Phoenix is convinced he can do better. He sets up a meeting with Dahlia.

25. Doug shows up, trying to persuade him away from it, saying he overheard Dahlia’s plan to kill Phoenix when she arrives. Phoenix is cocky, and the pair fight. Doug gets shoved into the powerline. Phoenix, thinking him dead, panics and runs.

26. Dahlia, having overheard, goes back and finishes him off, drops some poison into his mouth perhaps. With an accidental death with a cause so obvious, nobody bothers to run blood tests (until Miles)

27. Its years later, and Phoenix gets a note that tells him they know what really happened to Doug. Phoenix arrives to a meeting place to find a dead body. He picks up the vial of poison almost absently. 

28. After all, Dahlia had gotten rid of Diego and Mia was dead. Now all she had to do was get rid of Phoenix

29. It plays out similarly to case four, with Phoenix being absolved of the first murder, then confessing to the old one. Miles has gone through the work to save his life once, that he cant not do it again.

30. but happy endings (ish) for all, with Phoenix being freed, Dahlia imprisoned and Miles having a better understanding of both him and Phoenix.

31. maybe more happens but we’re at bullet point 31 so its time to stop for now lmao. uh but yeah! roleswap au..... brainrot really.

Insurrection Chapter 3: The Return

Zelda leaves the castle behind and manages to find some peace on her journey to Kakariko. A short stay at a stables and a soft bed is just what she and Link need to recharge. Unexpectedly, Zelda makes a new friend, and Link a student. But the gossipy stable owner has some suspicions about his patrons.

What is it?

This is an event for authors, artists, and so on to create Curtashi content centered around AU themes. Each day will have a different prompt, posted below.

When is it?

It starts on December 1st and ends on December 31st, but I will continue checking the tag for a week or two after to retweet/reblog any late fills.

Where should I post my fills?

Any combination of Tumblr, AO3, and/or Twitter.

What are the rules?

The rules are: 1. Each entry must be Curtashi (note that for this event, polyships featuring Curtashi are not counted), 2. Each entry must follow the prompt it used to fill in some way, and 3. No hate/trollfics are allowed.

Am I allowed to write dark/NSFW/etc content?

Yes, as long as it is properly tagged. However, NSFW fills will not be retweeted onto the Twitter account (@CurtashiLoving) as this is intended for all audiences, but it will be reblogged on Tumblr and allowed in the AO3 collection!

How should I tag my fills?

Please use both #CurtashiAUMonth and #CurtashiAUMonthDay(number) or #CurtashiAUMonthAlternate(number).

That is to say, a fill for day five should be tagged with #CurtashiAUMonth and #CurtashiAUMonthDay5, while a fill for day six made using alternate prompt number three should be tagged using #CurtashiAUMonth and #CurtashiAUMonthAlternate3. The exception to this is fills posted to AO3, which don't need to be tagged (though you are free to if you wish), and instead only need to be submitted to the collection located at https://archiveofourown.org/collections/CurtashiAUMonth.
