Monica 560 is the name of a French luxury automobile produced in the commune of Balbigny in the department of Loire between 1972 and 1974 of which just 40 cars were reported to have been made. The Monica 560 V8 was at the time considered to be by many automobile aficionados a magnificent French luxury GT and the natural successor of the earlier well known Facel Vega HK500 V8 GT which also has a Chrysler V8 5905 cc 16V 360bhp engine, and of which just 490 were produced between 1958 and 1961.

Ferrari 365 GT NART
This NART is started life on 6 June 1969 as one of the 801 Ferrari 365GT 2+2s built, with its elegant chiusa (closed) Pininfarina-styled coach- work finished in Grigio Mahmoud and the interior trimmed in blackleather. Some 16years later this car, along with chassis 12611, was dispatched to Italy to be reborn as the 365GT NART Spyder, or 365GT 2+2 Speciale. The tubular steel chassis was shortened and beefed up with square-tube reinforcements to make up for the strength lost by removing the standard car’s roof - yet the whole frame still weighed in at just 110kg. The all-independent double-wishbone suspension was retained, albeit with new geometry, along with the five-speed gearbox (notably not a transaxle, as in the short-chassis GTC/ GTS) that delivered its power through a Gleason Torsen limited-slip differential. As much of the mass as possible was kept within the wheelbase to aid the Ferrari’s handling, with the engine set well back and the 98-litre fuel tank mounted directly behind the driver, then the hand-beaten aluminium body was stret The gorgeous 4390cc V12 beneath that huge forward-hinged clamshell bonnet wasn’t left alone either, with tweaks to its triple twin-choke Weber carburettors, mild tuning and bespoke tubular manifolds with side-exit exhausts combining to liberate anything from 340-360bhp depending on who you believe, meaning 0-60mph in 6 secs.

We do a range of hybrid upgrades for the VAG 2.0 TFSI K03 and K04 engines. These engines are seen in many cars across the SEAT, VW, Audi and Skoda range. The normal output on these engines tends to be 200-260bhp but they are very tuneable units with 360bhp being quite achievable before needing to work on the engine's internals. Once forged and fitted with a big turbo, these engines have been seen to push out way over 500bhp!

Could Buick Use Muscle Car Names For New Vehicles?
By Dave Ashton
Buick are currently going through some changes with GM introducing new models to consolidate the brand. Just like other manufacturers who have revived muscle car classics, Buick could dig into their past and revive some classic names, even if they don’t end up being direct descendants of the former.
Could Buick follow the same route as Dodge and revive classics such as the Charger and the Challenger with tons of power and performance? It’s not out of the question as Buick had some mighty beasts back in the day such as the GSX, but it’s more than likely classic names would be fixed to more general use vehicles, but you never know…..
Here are some of the classic Buick muscle cars which could be revived for the modern day. Let’s just wish Buick go out on a limb and produce a modern interpretation of some of their high performance classics.
Buick Riviera The Riviera has been a long-standing name for Buick, but it’s not seen the light of day since the 1999 version. the second-generation versions from 1966-1970 had some beefy engines with 425ci.(7.0 L) and loads of torque.
Buick Skylark GS Quite a cute name, but the second generation from 1968 to 1972 had plenty of muscle car DNA. A 455ci. (7.46 L) V8 provided plenty of grunt, with even a four-door station wagon version available.
Buick Gran Sport If you think about classic muscle cars produced by Buick it’s usually variations of the Gran Sport that come to mind. Buick produced luxury and performance, but they also had the classic looks of the era. The 1970 GS 455 had a Buick 455ci. (7.5 L) V8 with around 360BHP. As the ‘GS’ was in quite a few variations such as the stage I and stage II and a GSX Performance and Handling package, there should be lots of scope for offering performance packages today.
Buick Grand National and GNX The 1980’s won’t exactly go down in history as producing classic muscle cars, but the Grand National and GNX were definite standouts. The Grand National had that 80s boxy appearance, but it also had plenty of performance. The 1987 GNX ‘Grand National Experimental’ was produced with help from McLaren and housed a turbocharged powerplant producing around 300 bhp. The GNX battered other performance vehicles of its time and nicknamed the ‘Darth Vader’s Car’, this limited edition model would be a great contender to bring back to life.

A year with a BMW i8
My first foray into electric hybrids has just turned 1 year old. It’s been an interesting year and blown away a few preconceptions about hybrid cars and also how folks react to the car.
The BMW i8 is really from the future, a ground-up rethink of what the future of GT cars should be. It’s unusual and unconventional in its technology, design and assembly as it’s spaceship looks suggest. It’s 2+2 mid-engined supercar that’s eco-friendly, too. It has no real competitors.
Power is a petrol/electric hybrid comprising of a 230bhp petrol engine and two electric motors, one driving the front wheels and a smaller one at the back doing torque fill, overboost and charging duties. Total power is 600Nm in a 1500kg carbon fibre and alloy body and chassis. The battery holds 7kWh and provides either 100% of the cars drive (up to 75mph) or supplements the petrol engine to increase efficiency, range and acceleration (0-60 in 3.9 seconds).
HISTORY Ordered in Dec 2015, whilst I was serving a speeding ban so without any test drive, and at over £110k many thought I was mad. It is my only car, but I work at home or in London so no commuting by car for me. I also ride a motorbike, a 200bhp Ducati Panigale.
The car arrived the day after my driving ban ended, on the first of March after the dealer, JCT600, had ballsed up almost every step of the process. I will never use them again.
EFFICIENCY I had the charge point installed a week after the car turned up and by default the car sits plugged in for pre-conditioning and electrical power. The range shows between 13 and 21 miles when fully charged and 75% of my journeys are 90%+ electric.
I’ve done 6,300 miles in the first year and I’m showing an average of 51mpg for the year. I am not, by any stretch, a faint hearted driver. The car takes a hammering when driven for pleasure. Previous cars (Aston, AMG, Porsche) mostly didn’t see past 20mpg so 51mpg is out of this world.
For longer journeys the car very intelligently switches between petrol, electric and both plus a pretty efficient regen cycle. It’s mostly seamless but every now and again it can get muddled. You do learn to drive it differently, chasing brake regent and gentler acceleration in towns is the big thing I noticed.
Oh, and the road fund license is free, zero. My last car cost nearly £1600 for the first two years. Add in the £1500 saved on fuel and the i8 has saved me £3100 in standard running costs.
Electric hybrid vehicles fall into a special category of company asset (I run my own company) that allows tax breaks, some rebates and the odd grant. In the first year the savings total about £52k, so very nearly half the new price!
This is not the reason I bought it, but I might just struggle otherwise to justify spending 6 figures on a gas-guzzling car that does so little mileage. Hell, for £110k you can buy a house in some parts of the UK.
PERFORMANCE It feels supercar quick, with 600NM of torque from standstill and 4 wheel drive very little will outrun it on UK roads. However, it’s only got 360bhp so top speed is not much over 150 and acceleration past 125 is a little lethargic. Neither of these speeds matter to me.
The i8 is really rather light (sub 1500kg) and has the lowest centre of gravity possible due to a carbon fibre tub and superstructure on an aluminium chassis. It’s also super stiff so the dampers can be quite soft making for a rather plush ride but with zero body roll. It mightily impressive in wide corners (more about its width in a bit).
The brakes are ok, it’s not a track car but I can feel that I could overwhelm the conventional steel stoppers if I really pushed on. With brake regen and brake by wire there is zero feeling through the middle pedal.
PRACTICALITY It’s a real 2+2 but the boot is small so you can’t carry 4 folks and luggage. However the rear seats will sit a (slim) six footer or carry sufficient luggage for 2 weeks of holiday or a weekend at a muddy festival.
The dihedral doors take some getting used it. They actually need less room to open normally than conventional doors but the overall width of the vehicle is 6ft 5" so it’s often too wide for regular parking spots.
Charging is simple, fast, reliable and widely available, frequently negating car parking charges. This is really good, in fact you can park for all day in Westminster, London, for free in the special bays. And there is no congestion charge, either. Many public chargers are free.
Visibility around the car is poor, even with the 3D camera system. Combined with its length (15ft 5") width, and “wider at the back” proportions it’s not an easy car to park.
WOW FACTOR I’ve never had a car that attracts quite as much attention as the i8. Mostly, the attention is overwhelmingly positive. Even after a year of ownership I’m still surprised, and occasionally embarrassed about how people react.
I don’t think I’ve ever had so many people stop, stare, ask or photograph the car (not me). They are still achingly rare, I’ve not seen more than a handful in my time on the roads. Add in the spaceship looks and sleek cab-forward layout and I can see why it has such a profound effect on folks who spy it!
All the good bits * Relatively cheap to buy and run * Sublime GT drive, goes like stink * Looks and behaves as if from the future * Rock steady build quality and reliability * Sexy app integration, in-car tech and touchscreen key * Feels a million dollars. It’s a real rockstar ride. * Super high eco credentials. Esp if your ‘leccy tariff is green. * The doors * Other people’s positive reactions * Interior design, layout and fit/finish
The crap bits * Electric range of 30 miles would make it more usable * Tiny boot means luggage is on show in the back * Horrible to park in town. * Too wide, the poor wing mirrors have been clipped a handful of times * A tyre pressure sensor failed last week * I will have to pay a balancing tax payment, probably about £10k when I sell it * More power please * Depreciation, and there is a Spyder version due in 2018

Why cant my car make me a large coke cola with ice. ? via /r/cars
Why cant my car make me a large coke cola with ice. ?
Come on now 75 grand for a new mercedes and all it offers is a new interior and the same old button system of twiddly annoying bullshit that reminds me of using my 2004 shit brick phone (no touch screen then kids) and 360bhp, same size, 4 doors and a boot, i mean, why cant the fucking thing make me something simple like a large coke cola with ice for my long drives, why cant i say "car, remove the passenger side for my personal drive", and the whole seat just folds into the floor or something and just converts into this office space for my journey where the side panels come down and makes me a soda, siri is capable of that order surely ? , there must be millions of things you can do to a car but every car is the same button fiddly, piece of dog shit, it's just annoying. All I'm seeing is concept cars that arent on paper, there literally sitting there made but for some reason where not allowed that until the year 2035-2050 even beyond my death, get the fuck out of here, it's not an imagination now when its literally sitting there and ask the concept to drive me somewhere because it will take me, why should we wait for them to concrete there business through forced commercialism, bullshit.
