What if Far Far Away Castle was featured at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Orlando?
20 years ago on this day, "Shrek 2" was released two days early from its initially scheduled release date, May 21, 2004. This film took the world of "Shrek", as well as DreamWorks Animation to new heights. Considering how "Shrek 2" was even better than the first movie, and also its huge box office success at the time, it gave me an idea I thought of a few years ago.
We all know how "Shrek" was supposed to be a satire of fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and even Disney classics, so I thought that since the Magic Kingdom was the main highlight for the Disney Parks (Mainly Sleeping Beauty's castle in California and Cinderella's castle in Florida), and the fact that Disney and Universal are natural rival studios, what if Universal Studios Theme Parks in the United States built a replica of King Harold and Queen Lillian's castle to compete with Disney's Magic Kingdom?
Though Far Far Away does exist at Universal Studios Singapore, here's my own interpretation for how I think Far Far Away Castle would look like in the US.
SETUP
The exterior would pretty much be the same, if not, downsized. For the interior, I imagined the castle would not only be a place you could tour around, but it could also work as a hotel. The rooms we've seen in the "Shrek" sequels like the dining room, the courtyard (complete with a wooden polished dance floor and a stage for live performances and other outdoor events), and even the library (even though you can't rent the books, as I think the shelves would be fake) would be present. The place can be loaded with bedrooms, themed off of famous DreamWorks Animation properties. Some bedrooms can also have a balcony where you can get a good view of Universal Studios from.
As far as other rooms, I was thinking there could be a swimming pool and hot tub area, a spa, an arcade, and even private movie theater screening rooms where you can watch your favorite Universal movies with your choice to see them in 2D or RealD 3D formats (depending on your liking, or what titles are available for both formats). There can also be a restricted area for adults only which offers a bar and possibly a casino, with "Shrek" themed slot machines and card tables.
This is all I've got, but since Nintendo beat us to it with Super Nintendo World (in a good way, of course), I still think this would've been a great sight to see for Universal.

HTX Tech X Summit 2024 Opening Video ( AI Generated Content ) from HOLOGRIX™ on Vimeo.
From the creators and team that produced the Holographic Opening Performance for the launch of Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) back in 2019 ( vimeo.com/hologrix/htx ) … After five years , HTX is back and this time round, we produced an opening video using Generative AI which was something that never seen done before in Singapore as of this date of posting.
The Official Launch of the Inaugural Milipol Asia Pacific 2024, as part of HTX’s TechX Summit on 3 April 2024, we melded traditional filmmaking techniques with Generative AI content and using Gen AI tools to create an opening video that highlighted the synchronous relationship that humans and AI could have in the future.
The fruit of our labour, working with Gen AI tools was both an eye opening and frustrating experience as we while just at the tip of the ice berg. Every week some new features were updated or new apps were developed but not release yet. Therefore, there were a lot of trial and errors. We had resolution issues - our screen size was 7600 x 1600 pixel and then consistency character issues etc. Of course with over 20 years of post production and visual effect experiences, we were able to trouble shoot along the way. And I got to say … we truly experienced how advanced AI has become and also how far it has yet to go. AI is already all around us, and it will continue to machine learn FOREVER. ( Can you imagine how smart it will be in future ??? ).

Risk Management
Tumblr media
How might I use the Quality, Time & Risk Management techniques I learned about in class to improve my life? What do I want to do when I graduate? What existing risks are preventing me from succeeding in my plans? How do I mitigate those risks?
i think i can use thiss technique to manage my life projects better. As of now i have many many big personal projects that could last years and decades but the workload seems overwhelming. i havent had time to break it down and tackle it. not to say balancing everyday life, personal project, professional projects and studying. i think i could benefit to section everything into bite size and achievable tasks rather than 3 or 4 giant sections.
After graduations, im planning to further my studies into animation and game making, since Design Studies is a very general and overall Course, meaning i know a bit of everything but not particularly specialized in anything. My final directions is still animation, and illustrations, so im planning to study master in those. illustration is cool and more to my liking but im not sure if i can sustain myself by just being an illustrator, so I'm refocusing onto Animation, specially 2D animation. The reason why 2D and not 3D is bc i feel like in recent years the 3D animation industry has been oversaturated and asking for sth new, so they r developing the mix betwwen 2D and 3D or multimedium. And to be able to adapt to the everchanging and demanding industry, i have to had my basic first, therefore 2D animation. for me 3D is just a skill to add on the skillset, but to be really good and unique i have to start with 2D. so my plan for the near future is, getting internship in a 2D studio in Hanoi (Deedee animation would be great) > work to get experience first > once i feel like im all prepared and equipped with basic knowledge > animation master oversea (Singapore/France/England/Hongkong) > get a job in some animation studio and deveope my portfolio and personal project. During this plan i definitely have to develope some personal project to strengthen my portfolio. Honestly, im scared, I have all this plan but i dont know where to start and everything seems so overwhelming. i know i should start w bitesize baby step but it would be a lie if this isnt still overwhelming to me.
Anyway, project update
We just got update on the question list and the chosen brief in Dec 2nd, and it's Chuyện của Gấu. We r currently behind our schedule 2 week, so we will have to push our productivities up. I called for a quick meeting/ update to divide our workload and readjust our timeframe. also tell my team mate to do more research into BSNB, moonbear and Mường culture.
Our task curently
Tumblr media
As of now, we divided into 2 group
task 1 - Calendar - Nhung Nguyen & Linh Dinh
task 2 - GIft box - Linh Tran & Mi Do
each person will get 4-5 tasks, this can be change accordingly in the future if anyone is/is not able to finish their task.
additional tasks: research and questions for client on BSNB fieldtrip
nhoong's personal task: communicate w clients and other leaders to agree on a day for the field trip; preparations and collect drafts from members and organize to present to client first draft on field trip
2 key dates this week:
9 Dec: client meeting 1 - Introductions and Hanoi zoo filedtrip
10 Dec: BSNB fieldtrip

Exploring the Best School Holiday Activities in Singapore
Tumblr media
Introduction
Regarding school holidays in Singapore, parents often search for engaging and educational activities to keep their children occupied. Luckily, Singapore offers many options catering to different interests and age groups. As a parent and a resident of Singapore, I have had the privilege of exploring numerous school holiday activities. In this article, I will share my insights on the best options for keeping your kids entertained and learning during their break.
Watersports Adventures
One of the most exciting activities during school holidays is engaging in watersports. The coastal city of Singapore provides an ideal backdrop for such adventures. From personal experience, I recommend checking out Hitechsailing.com.sg for school holiday sailing and water sports courses. This reputable organization offers a variety of programs designed for kids to learn sailing, windsurfing, and kayaking, all under the guidance of certified instructors.
 Science and Art Camps
Singapore is known for its commitment to education, which extends to the school holiday programs. Numerous science and art camps are organized to stimulate children's minds and creativity. Places like the Singapore Science Centre and ArtScience Museum regularly host workshops and activities that are both fun and educational. My children have significantly benefited from these programs, gaining hands-on knowledge in science and a deep appreciation for art.
 Nature Exploration
For a more outdoorsy experience, Singapore's lush green spaces offer opportunities for nature exploration. The Singapore Botanic Gardens, MacRitchie Reservoir, and Bukit Timah Nature Reserve provide excellent settings for hiking and bird-watching. These experiences can foster a sense of environmental awareness in children, instilling a love for nature and wildlife.
 Museum Visits
Singapore boasts a wealth of museums, each offering a unique learning experience. The National Museum of Singapore, Peranakan Museum, and National Gallery are a few examples of institutions that provide valuable historical and cultural insights. As a parent, I've found these museum visits to be a great way to combine education with fun as my children explore Singapore's rich heritage.
Creative Workshops
Creative workshops are a fantastic way to develop your child's artistic and practical skills. Places like the ArtScience Museum offer workshops in animation, 3D printing, and virtual reality. These workshops engage children's creativity and equip them with practical skills that can be valuable in the future.
Cooking Classes
Cooking classes for kids are becoming increasingly popular in Singapore. Organizations like CulinaryOn offer classes that teach kids how to prepare various dishes, from local cuisine to international delights. These classes encourage children to appreciate different flavors and cuisines while honing their culinary skills.
Coding and Robotics
In the digital age, coding and robotics skills are invaluable. Several centers in Singapore offer coding classes for kids, teaching them the basics of programming and robotics. This exposure to technology at a young age can set the stage for future success in the field.
Conclusion
In Singapore, school holidays need not be a time for idleness. Instead, they can allow children to engage in fun, educational, and enriching activities. There's a wide range of options, from watersports adventures to science and art camps, nature exploration, museum visits, creative workshops, cooking classes, and coding and robotics programs. As a parent who has experienced these activities firsthand, I can attest to the value they bring in terms of education and enjoyment for children. So, make the most of your children's school holidays by exploring these fantastic options in the Lion City.
