Voy a intentar pintar a Perla a tiempo para el lanzamiento de Side Order, y cronometraré las horas que tardo porque con Marina han sido así a ojo más de 15. Me duele la espalda.

Por cierto, destacable la costumbre que tienen mis figuras de romperse justo antes de fotografiarlas, en este caso el colgante. Y NO SÉ CUANDO SE LE ROMPIERON LOS LAZOS DE LAS ZAPATILLAS, ESTABAN ASÍ YA ANTES DE QUE EMPEZASE A PINTARLA, ESTOY TRISTE.

SIDE ORDER RELEASE DATE, AAAAAAH. Good motivation to resume the publications, and it was time to show Pearl's amiibo project with her Octo Expansion clothes.

Matching Marina's amiibo, of course (because they're girlfriends-). I have yet to paint both, but I hope to show you the result soon <3

It's funny because I haven't finished showing you the figures of this batch (there are four) and since Side Order arrives in a month, I'll have to start working on Robopearl, on Off the Hook from Splatoon 3... Work piles up.

Today I bring you in real life my favorite weapon of Splatoon 3: the Custom Jet Squelcher (although for it to be completely, it needs the stickers).

I thought it was a good way to start printing and painting small things with the resin printer, because yes, it's my first time using miniature paints (the other things you've seen painted on my profile were with spray or with acrylic paint). The green color I bought was pretty bad, it was uneven and I had to give many layers to make it stay, and I am not convinced by the tone that has remained for the Jet Squelcher, but ignoring that, I quite like the result (being the first time, I settle for it not being a disaster).

I just wanted to make a miniature of the weapon (I will make a base to leave it), but inadvertently it has come out quite appropriate to the size of the amiibos, so now I have strong thoughts of printing my octoling and putting it in its hands...

I leave you images of the process of printing in resin and painting. I hope it is the first of many colored figures!

Hoy os traigo en vida real mi arma favorita de Splatoon 3: la Megabarredora SP (aunque para que lo sea del todo, me falta pegarle las pegatinas).

Me pareció una buena manera de empezar a imprimir y pintar cosas pequeñas con la impresora de resina, porque sí, es mi primera vez usando pinturas de miniaturas (las otras cosas que habéis visto pintadas en mi perfil eran con spray o con pintura acrílica). El color verde que compré era bastante malo, era poco uniforme y tenía que dar muchas capas para que se quedase, y no me termina de convencer el tono que se ha quedado para la Megabarredora, pero quitando eso, me gusta bastante el resultado (siendo la primera vez, me conformo con que no sea un desastre).

Yo solamente quería hacerme una miniatura del arma (luego le haré una base donde dejarla), pero sin querer me ha salido bastante adecuada al tamaño de los amiibos, así que ahora tengo pensamientos fuertes de imprimirme mi octoling y ponérsela en las manos…

Os dejo imágenes del proceso de impresión en resina y pintado. ¡Espero que sea la primera de muchas figuras en color!

Goal accomplished: painted Pearl for the release of Side Order.

I timed myself as I said I was going to do, it was 7 hours in total painting Pearl. Very fast compared to Marina, although it is true that Pearl is the easiest to paint of all the idols (when I have to paint Marie with the kimono and the parasol it will take me 84 years or so).

At some point I'll design, print and paint a base to make them complete "amiibos" (or at least, stand up without my hand having to be behind them). But now it's time for me to play Side Order. If you don't see me post for several weeks, that's why, playing is more important.

Me cronometré como dije que iba a hacer, fueron 7 horas en total pintando a Perla. Muy rápida en comparación con Marina, aunque sí es verdad que es la más fácil de pintar de todas las idols (cuando tenga que pintar a Marie con el kimono y el parasol me llevará 84 años o así).

En algún momento les diseñaré, imprimiré y pintaré una base para hacerlos “amiibos” completos (o al menos, que se tengan de pie sin que tenga que estar mi mano ahí detrás). Pero ahora es momento de que juegue a Side Order. Si no me veis postear en varias semanas es por eso, jugar es más importante.

Well, I needed a new box to store Switch games, and since I couldn't find any Splatoon games, I said… What if I make it myself? And that's what I did.

I thought designing the closure was going to be tricky, but I've been surprised by how well the hooks work, the assembled box stays firm, and they're much easier to remove than I expected.

As I really liked the result, I decided to put it up for sale in my Etsy shop, in case anyone else likes it 👉👈 And Eevee keychains are also available now. In fact, there is an offer for the first 5 orders where they get a small Eevee keychain for free.

And so that you don't notice that I like this game, I'm already telling you that I'm preparing more posts about Splatoon stuff 😂

Español: Pues necesitaba una nueva caja para guardar juegos de Switch, y como no encontraba ninguna de Splatoon, dije… ¿Y si me la hago yo? Y eso hice.

Pensaba que diseñar el cierre iba a ser complicado, pero me ha sorprendido lo bien que funcionan los ganchos, la caja ensamblada se queda firme y son mucho más fáciles de quitar de lo que esperaba.

Today's publication is one that I have been preparing for a long time and I am very excited.

Here's a figure of Nicole from Sonic Resonance AU designed by @angstsuccer (check out their account to find out more!).

I feel very proud to be able to say that I contributed my grain of sand to that AU with Nicole's design, and for that reason I also wanted to make a 3D model. Since my modeling skills aren't enough (although I hope they will be in the future), I use as a base the design of the Archie comics done by mikomagallona at Sketchfab (link below). Ironically, I took the classic Nicole design, which looks less like the Resonance than the modern one, which also has a model buuuut I didn't see it. Oops.

I've learned a lot during the process, in terms of modeling and painting. Although for most elements I took existing models, Nicole's jacket was made exclusively by me (finally applying my knowledge of hours of Blender tutorials) and I really like how well it fit. That's why there is an image only of it, I wanted to show it to you (?)

As for painting, it is the first time I painted a figure, and although I have spent many hours, I really liked the experience. It's not going to be the last one I paint (in fact, I'm already painting more-). As you can see, the eyelashes were very fragile and broke before they could be painted :'c

This is the happiest time I'm with something I've printed and that's why I'm also very excited to show it. I hope you like it at least one thousandth of what I like <3

La publicación de hoy es una que llevo preparando mucho tiempo y me hace mucha ilusión.

Os presento una figura de Nicole del Sonic Resonance AU diseñado por @angstsuccer (¡echadle un vistazo a su cuenta para saber más!).

Siento mucho orgullo de poder decir que aporté mi granito de arena a ese AU con el diseño de Nicole, y por eso mismo quería también hacerle un modelo 3D. Como mis habilidades de modelado no son suficientes (aunque espero que lo sean en el futuro), me basé en el diseño de los cómics de Archie hecho por mikomagallona en Sketchfab (enlace abajo). Irónicamente cogí el de la Nicole clásica, que se parece menos a la de Resonance que la moderna, que también tiene modelo pero no vi. Upsie.

He aprendido mucho durante el proceso, en cuanto a modelado y pintura. Aunque para la mayoría de elementos cogí modelos ya hechos, la chaqueta de Nicole la hice yo exclusivamente de cero (aplicando al fin mis conocimientos de horas de tutoriales de Blender) y me gusta mucho lo bien que me quedó. Por eso hay una imagen sólo suya, quería mostrárosla (?)

En cuanto a la pintura, es la primera vez que pintaba una figura, y aunque le he echado muchas horas, me ha gustado mucho la experiencia. No va a ser la última que pinte (de hecho, ya estoy pintando más-). Como podréis apreciar, las pestañas eran muy frágiles y se rompieron antes de poder pintarlas :’c

Esta es la vez que más feliz estoy con algo que he impreso y por eso también me hace mucha ilusión mostrarlo. Espero que os guste al menos una milésima parte de lo que me gusta a mí <3

Step number 1 of making a Marina amiibo based on the Splatoon 2 DLC.

It was clear to me that when I had a resin 3D printer, one of my main goals was going to be to print figures of many of my favorite things. And here you have my current project, with that purpose in mind.

Marina is my favorite Splatoon idol, and I love her Octo Expansion outfit, so... I had to make a pseudo-amiibo of that version of hers. I hope I don't mess it up when I start painting it.

I've slowed down the pace of posts because I have less time and also because I'm spending more time modeling things like this. Fewer prints but more work behind it, I guess. Of course, as you can see in the photo with so many supports, Marina is not the only figure I've been working on, so I'll be publishing more soon. What do you expect to see? Hint: all the others are also within the class of cephalopods.

Tenía claro que cuando tuviese una impresora de resina, uno de mis objetivos principales iba a ser imprimir figuras de muchas de mis cosas favoritas. Y aquí tenéis mi proyecto actual, con ese propósito en mente.

Marina es mi idol favorita de Splatoon, y me encanta su outfit de la Octo Expansión, así que… Tenía que hacer un pseudo-amiibo de esa versión suya. Espero no estropearla cuando empiece a pintarla.

He bajado mucho el ritmo de las publicaciones porque tengo menos tiempo y también porque estoy dedicando más tiempo al modelado de cosas como estas. Menos impresiones pero con más trabajo detrás, supongo. Eso sí, como podréis ver en la foto con tantísimos soportes, la de Marina no es la única figura en la que he estado trabajando, así que iré publicando más dentro de poco. ¿Qué esperáis ver? Pista: todas las demás también están dentro de la clase de los cefalópodos.

And finally, we have Callie in her Splatoon 2 boss outfit. That's the end of this batch!

I had a hard time deciding which pose to use for this one since it has several featured ones, but I finally chose this one because, although it's not the most important, I personally like it quite a bit (and it is much easier to paint, which I appreciate). It has quite a bit of charisma. "Prepare to be rocked! Hey, DJ!"

Now all that's left is for me to paint them all, I hope it doesn't take too long.

Me costó decidirme por qué pose usar para esta ya que tiene varias destacadas, pero finalmente elegí esta porque, aunque no es la más importante, personalmente me gusta bastante (y luego hace mucho más fácil pintarla, lo cual agradezco). Tiene bastante carisma. “¡Tendré que echaros por las malas! ¡Eh, Octovius!” (En español pierde bastante, las cosas como son)

Ahora sólo queda que pinte todas, espero no tardar demasiado.

Let's continue with the collection of Splatoon figures! This time it's Marie, in her outfit from Splatoon 2.

I tried to emulate the pose she has in the official render, but doing so I realized that… It's impossible. As it stands, the parasol bar should be piercing its tentacles. So in the end I modified the posture a little bit.

It was the most difficult figure to model, I still have nightmares of remembering how hard it was for me to give volume to that kimono. And on top of that, it broke like three times before I took the pictures, if you see weird things, that's why 😂 But I hope it won't be noticeable once painted.

This is the third of four figures I made! It's not very difficult to guess what the fourth one is going to be, right?

Intenté ponerle la pose que tiene en el render oficial, pero haciéndolo me di cuenta de que… Es imposible. Tal y como está ahí, la barra del parasol tendría que estar atravesándole los tentáculos. Así que al final modifiqué un poco la postura.

Fue la figura más difícil de modelar, todavía tengo pesadillas de recordar cómo me costó darle volumen a ese kimono. Y encima, se me rompió como tres veces antes de hacerle las fotos, si veis cosas raras, es por eso 😂 Pero espero que no se note una vez pintada.

¡Esta es la tercera de cuatro figuras que hice! No es muy complicado adivinar cuál va a ser la cuarta, ¿verdad?

Not long ago I posted a print of my Splatoon 3 weapon, the Custom Jet Squelcher, saying in the description "Wow, what if I also print my Splatoon OC to put in their hands?” And it has happened.

I didn't know how to hold it because the gun is huge, but I wanted them to have one of their hands free to make the gesture of the V, so the posture is a bit strange, and the face can be improved because I drew it in a hurry, but who cares.

Hace no mucho publiqué una impresión de mi arma de Splatoon 3, la Megabarredora SP, diciendo en la descripción “Bua, ¿y si imprimo también mi OC de Splatoon para ponérsela en las manos?” Y ha pasado.

No sabía cómo sujetársela porque el arma es enorme pero quería que tuviese una de las manos libres para hacer el gesto de la V, así que la postura es un poco extraña, y la cara es mejorable porque se la dibujé con prisas, pero qué más da.

La última foto es para mostrar un terrible suceso que ocurrió tan sólo media hora después de hacer las fotos. Conclusión: la vida es dura 😔🤘

I don't think I ever got to show the figure I made of Hornet months ago, and since I don't have much time to publish anything, at least I can show you that.

It's made with filament printer, and painted with VERY fat brushes, watercolors, and acrylic paints. Thinking about it now that I've learned more about it, it's a miracle that it looks so good 😂

Hornet's design is from Vspinax on Thingiverse, and I love the detail of the fishing line (although in my photos you can barely see it).

Español: Creo que nunca llegué a enseñar la figura que hice de Hornet hace meses, y como no tengo mucho tiempo para publicar nada, pues al menos os muestro eso.

Está hecho con impresora de filamento, y pintada con pinceles MUY gordos, acuarelas y pinturas acrílicas. Pensándolo ahora que he aprendido más sobre el tema, es un milagro que se vea tan bien, la verdad 😂

El diseño de Hornet es de Vspinax en Thingiverse, y me encanta el detalle del hilo de pescar (aunque en mis fotos apenas se ve).

Well… I have decided to make my own "Paper Mario amiibo collection", and I have to say that I really like the result.

I really like this saga, especially (as you can see) The Thousand-Year Door, from Game Cube, so since there are a lot of variants of Mario amiibos, I thought "hey, and why not some of Paper Mario".

I have made the silhouettes of wood, while the base I have done with 3D printing as it could not be missing. What do you think? Do you like it?

Me gusta mucho esta saga, especialmente (como se puede notar) La Puerta Milenaria, de Game Cube, así que ya que hay mil variantes de amiibos de Mario, pensé “eh, y por qué no unos de Paper Mario”.

Lately I'm watching a game of DnD on YouTube, and although I'm not playing any campaigns right now, I've been envious and... I have put the printer to work.

I am mounting a board as cheap as possible but at the same time the most customizable, and of course, it can not miss the decoration made with printer. For all this I have used the Ender with 0.2 nozzle, but for the character minis I will use the Elegoo, of course.

I show you some designs that I have found in Thingiverse and they seem to me the sea of useful (or cute). The silhouettes are from cdrockett and serve to represent encounters of groups of enemies in a more generic way if you do not want to make exclusive minis for each type, here you just have to use the numbers they bring and different colors to differentiate them. The furniture is from curufin and is very detailed, and I love the versatility that the modular bar gives you.

Últimamente estoy viendo una partida de DnD por YouTube, y aunque yo no esté jugando ninguna campaña ahora mismo, me ha dado envidia y… He puesto la impresora a trabajar.

Me estoy montando un tablero lo más barato posible pero a la vez lo más personalizable, y claro, no puede faltar la decoración hecha con impresora. Para todo esto he usado la Ender con nozzle de 0.2, pero para las minis de personajes usaré la Elegoo, no lo dudéis.

Os enseño algunos diseños que he encontrado en Thingiverse y me parecen la mar de útiles (o cuquis). Las siluetas son de cdrockett y sirven para representar encuentros de grupos de enemigos de manera más genérica si no quieres hacerte minis exclusivas para cada tipo, aquí tan sólo tienes que usar los números que traen y distintos colores para diferenciarlos. El mobiliario es de curufin y es muy detallado, y me encanta la versatilidad que da la barra de bar modular.
