Oh my god. Kies first day at the kook academy was chapter 6?!!?!! If you’d told me it was like chapter 10-like 13 I would have believed u how has it been so long since then omg!! NOT that I’m complaining I will read as much of this fic as u will give me but like wow it’s long I didn’t even realise it was that early on that things started to go downhill!! Honestly when I think about the early chapters of this fic I always remember them being lil babies and having only read it once (that will be changing don’t worry), I thought them being babies lasted longer than it clearly did. Some specific memories I have of the early chapters: the flag pole race to tannyhill, and jj and kie making fun of John bs fan club on the dock at the chateau! Thinking of those moments in the fic is literally like they are my own vague childhood memories that’s so strange
my friend, I know. chapter 6 feels like a decade ago! when I went to check I was certain it was 9, and then I had to keep clicking the previous chapter button and i was like “oh no”
And I also thought I spent more time on the young Pogues than I did, lol. I never really re-read pltc myself because I’ll immediately spiral into a panic-induced editing fit, but when I have to look back for continuity or for references I always feel like the Young Pogue Chapters lasted a lot longer. the lil baby pogues were so much lol
And oh my lord, you are bringing up scenes even I forgot. The race at Tanneyhill! John B’s Fan Club! The Pogue Lyfe T-Shirt Company, for all of John B’s Rejects. God, it really does feel like a while ago. I know what you mean when you say they feel like your own vague memories - every time someone mentions something in the first couple of chapters, I’m like “oh yeah I remember that” and it’s all nostalgic and stuff. the fact that you also feel that way literally blows my mind. the fact that you pay enough attention to it enough to remember it is insane.
thank you so much, anon, this ask made my day 🥰 I’ll be panicking about the nostalgia of pltc and the fact that it’s ending if anyone wants to join me.
