The Heartbeat of InkPrint VendoPro: Vision Crafting in Motion
Welcome to the latest chapter of our startup adventure!
Step into the vibrant pages of our team's entrepreneurial journey as we delve deeper into the exciting realm of our business startup, "InkPrint VendoPro."

This journal entry invites you to accompany us through the twists and turns of innovation, where convenience and technology intersect to revolutionize the current way in which we approach printing. Our journey began with the meticulous crafting of the Business Model Canvas with each element serving as a stroke on the canvas of our vision. We navigated through the intricacies of market segments, value propositions, revenue streams, and more, all the while shaping a comprehensive blueprint for our path ahead.
The heart of our narrative beats with the creation of our startup product promotion video—an immersive journey into the core of IVP or InkPrint VendoPro. We embraced the creative process from conceptualization to execution, which aims to convey the essence of our innovative vending printing machine that allows Bluetooth connectivity with the simplicity of bill/coin-operated transactions.

And as avid learners, we seized the opportunity to enrich our entrepreneurial perceptions through a series of enlightening lecture sessions. The virtual landscape came alive as our screens connected us with seasoned speakers via Zoom meeting and Facebook live last November 15, 2023. We will need a lot more pages just to enumerate all the things we learned from these amazing speakers, so allow us to present their names and topics that they shared:

Dr. Gamaliela A. Dumancas
∆ Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Transfer
— We learned that understanding intellectual property and technology transfer is essential for individuals as it empowers them to protect their innovative ideas and creations, fostering a culture of innovation. This knowledge is not only crucial for safeguarding one's intellectual labor but also holds economic significance by enabling individuals to leverage and commercialize their innovations. Moreover, being well-versed in intellectual property rights ensures legal compliance, reducing the risk of unintentional infringement and potential legal consequences. In the context of technology transfer, this knowledge facilitates collaboration and the responsible exchange of knowledge and technology for mutual benefit. For entrepreneurs and businesses, it is instrumental in maintaining a competitive edge, attracting investors, and building a strong brand presence. Overall, a comprehensive understanding of intellectual property and technology transfer is indispensable in navigating the intricacies of the modern knowledge-driven economy and promoting ethical practices.

Ms. Alice Therese L. Caballeda
∆ Startup Ecosystem
— One of the most important things we learn in a startup ecosystem is the function of invention, networking, and cooperation. Often covered subjects include industry trends, funding sources, mentorship, and the function of incubators and accelerators which offer specialized infrastructure, direction, and assistance to help businesses develop and prosper. Building a good team, being scalable, and familiar with regulatory issues are all essential for effectively navigating the difficulties of a startup ecosystem. It provides resources, networking, mentorship, and funding opportunities, it also encourages creativity, teamwork, and mutual learning, which makes an environment that is favorable for businesses to flourish.

Ms. Doreen Elsie Jane Gersava
∆ Start-Up Journey (VIRTUALAHAN- a visual eskwelahan for disabled persons founded by Mr. Ryan Gersava)
— There are several stages in the startup process from ideation to growth. Important lessons we learned include the value of conducting market research, coming up with a workable business plan, getting money, assembling a solid team, responding to input from the market, and remaining resilient in the face of difficulties. We realized that rebuilding from setbacks, challenging ordeals, and tough situations is essential to a successful startup path. And that agility, impeccable decision-making skills, and ongoing learning are all necessary for surviving in the fast-paced world of business.
As we embark on our next journey — the startup promotional video and preparation for our final pitching, their wisdom and experiences became guiding lights, illuminating the path forward and inspiring us to elevate our startup endeavors. Join us on this exhilarating expedition, where every page turns and unfolds new insights, challenges, and triumphs. Together, let's venture into the uncharted territories of business innovation, embracing the spirit of collaboration, learning, and growth.

Entrepreneurial Blueprint: Building Futures with the Business Model Canvas
Hey there, fellow dreamers and doers! Welcome to another round of sharing stories, experiences, and the untold chapters of the entrepreneurial journey.
For the past 2 weeks, we have planned and created our business model canvas, which is a valuable tool for us as it guides us through the process of developing, validating, and communicating our startup concept in a structured and practical manner. The Business Model Canvas is crucial as it provides a visual framework for startups and businesses to articulate, analyze, and iterate on key components of their business models. It helps in fostering a comprehensive understanding of how different elements like customer segments, value propositions, channels, and revenue streams interact, enabling more effective strategic planning and innovation. We made sure that everything that we have put in our BMC can not only cater to the needs of our customers, but we can also gain profit from it.
The following week, after the Business Model Canvas presentation, our group discussed and took note of all the questions and comments raised by our instructor. It is noted that there are many factors that would need to be taken into account in order to establish our ideal business. In this activity, we had the same null and alternative hypotheses as last time. The null hypothesis is that the quality and purpose of the product are effective in raising the product's profitability and price value perception, whereas the alternative hypothesis is that the quality and purpose of the product are ineffective in raising the product's profitability and price value perceptions.
After carefully considering feedback from our instructor and analyzing survey responses, we have made crucial adjustments to our business model canvas. First and foremost, we determined that the device's optimal range would be set at an impressive 10 km, ensuring a broad and effective coverage area. Two primary options emerged during this process: establishing a physical store and creating an online presence through a Facebook page. Following thoughtful deliberation, we have determined that option 2, comprising a Facebook page, aligns more closely with our strategic goals and market demands. This decision is rooted in the recognition of the evolving landscape of consumer behavior and the broader reach and accessibility offered by an online platform. We believe that embracing a digital presence will enhance our market penetration and overall business viability. This strategic shift not only capitalizes on the widespread use of social media but also reflects the evolving landscape of commerce. By integrating these features into our business model canvas, we aim to enhance accessibility and leverage the digital realm to connect with our audience effectively.
This week we have learned to clarify and organize thoughts about the venture's value proposition, target audience, and revenue streams. We also noted and carefully considered some things, such as feedback loops, scalability, and market trends.

Smoking can be a powerful way to raise awareness about its health risks and encourage people to quit or avoid starting in the first place.

Remember, your tone and approach can make a big difference. It's important to be non-judgmental and supportive, as quitting smoking is a difficult journey.

COVID-19, A journey through the unknown
The latest threat to global health is the ongoing outbreak of the respiratory disease that was recently given the name Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19). Covid-19 was recognized in December 2019. It was rapidly shown to be caused by a novel coronavirus that is structurally related to the virus that causes severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). As in two preceding instances of emergence of coronavirus disease in the past 18 years— SARS (2002 and 2003) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) (2012 to the present) — the Covid-19 outbreak has posed critical challenges for the public health, research, and medical communities.
In their Journal article, Li and colleagues, provide a detailed clinical and epidemiologic description of the first 425 cases reported in the epicenter of the outbreak: the city of Wuhan in Hubei province, China. Although this information is critical in informing the appropriate response to this outbreak, as the authors point out, the study faces the limitation associated with reporting in real time the evolution of an emerging pathogen in its earliest stages. Nonetheless, a degree of clarity is emerging from this report. The median age of the patients was 59 years, with higher morbidity and mortality among the elderly and among those with coexisting conditions (similar to the situation with influenza); 56% of the patients were male. Of note, there were no cases in children younger than 15 years of age. Either children are less likely to become infected, which would have important epidemiologic implications, or their symptoms were so mild that their infection escaped detection, which has implications for the size of the denominator of total community infections.
On the basis of a case definition requiring a diagnosis of pneumonia, the currently reported case fatality rate is approximately 2%. In another article in the Journal, Guan et al. report mortality of 1.4% among 1099 patients with laboratory-confirmed Covid-19; these patients had a wide spectrum of disease severity. If one assumes that the number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases is several times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%. This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively.
The efficiency of transmission for any respiratory virus has important implications for containment and mitigation strategies. The current study indicates an estimated basic reproduction number (R0) of 2.2, which means that, on average, each infected person spreads the infection to an additional two persons. As the authors note, until this number falls below 1.0, it is likely that the outbreak will continue to spread. Recent reports of high titers of virus in the oropharynx early in the course of disease arouse concern about increased infectivity during the period of minimal symptoms.
China, the United States, The Philippines, and among several other countries have instituted temporary restrictions on travel with an eye toward slowing the spread of this new disease within China and throughout the rest of the world. The Philippines has seen a dramatic reduction in the number of travelers from China. (Normal) Life as we once knew is a mere memory of the past as The Philippines is still struggling to cope and provide solutions to this rising challenge. Incompetent government officials are "Doing their Best" to face the obstacle that is COVID-19.
Clownery is the name of the game for the citizens of The Philippines.

3RD BLOG: IMPORTANT LEARNINGS

In order to establish high criteria for the suggested product, the team started deliberating and making decisions throughout the allotted time. Even with our busy schedules and status as student nurses, the team was able to use the solution to address the issue. Introducing them to the concept of entrepreneurship surely motivated us to work harder.
The team continue to validate the product through responders. Every week, two college students were singled out for attempting to keep their hair up in a bun. The number of respondents who stated during the interviews and responses from respondents that they would find the product helpful in carrying out their occupations, partaking in activities, visiting events, etc., thrilled the team. The team used visual aids to convey ideas about our product to the target market.
The project hypotheses put out by the group are as follows:
Null Hypothesis The daily activities of the students, faculty, and residents at the CMU are not much impacted by the sleek & style environment there.
Alternative Hypothesis Sleek & style interiors at CMU have a big impact on how students, faculty, and residents go about their everyday lives.
Although there are several ways to do hypothesis testing, my group decided to employ an interview via face to face and through social media chats since it appeared the most sensible. An interview with students, faculty, and residents inside the CMU was conducted to ascertain if the project is essential to develop as well as to anticipate its feasibility and suitability to the environment in general and to the people who would benefit from it in particular. Fortunately, nearly everyone we talked to agreed with the project's premise. One participant said, "Nice lagi na, buhata na ninyo ba kay murag puslan kaayo siya sa among course" and another one said " sudlay is layp gud pero more lifer ang hair gel gud". Thus, our group was driven to continue with the project and make a big transformation at Central Mindanao University.
Even though throughout the activity, the group may have encountered difficulties in finding respondents, gladly we were able to finish it on time and present it on our final pitching.
During the lecture series, I discovered that there were several chances available to me, particularly as a student. I also discovered that the government is gradually coming to recognize the importance of entrepreneurship since it may significantly boost the nation's economy. I also learnt about the many sorts of pitching, the factors that investors consider, and how we should approach possible investors. I came to the conclusion that having the right mentality is necessary for being a successful entrepreneur. And we need to keep going and push over our limitations if we want to see our business prosper. Finally, I learn about the various types of intellectual property and how to protect my rights.
