Since Mattel never made a Reproduction Superstar Ken, my Repro Superstar Barbie started dating another 70's Superstar.

"Hi Barbie!"
My kids wanted to do a Barbie comparison and tried the movie doll dress on some of the vintage dolls! My youngest even had to make sure her favorite girl Midge was included.
I watched the movie last week and even took my ponytail Barbie with me, although I didn't get any pics (our theater didn't have the cool Barbie box.) I have thoughts on the movie but I might make another post for those. For now enjoy the fun my kids had today!

This doll has definite condition issues (leg popped off as soon as I opened the package, melt that is common for Barbies of this period, a loose waist that actually occasionally causes the torso to separate) but even so I’m thrilled to add this Barbie to my collection:
1975 Free Moving Cara🥰
Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! The photos really don’t even do this doll justice.
I did have to reattach the leg very carefully with glue so it still has range of motion (which I had to do with my Quick Curl Barbie as well so at least I had some practice), and I did have to clean off as much melt as I could, and I even had to add a couple of vinyl elastics at the waist to stabilize it (are loose waists common on the Free Moving Barbies?) but even so this doll is amazingly beautiful.
