I forgot to post it here! This animation I did of "Once upon a time in Onceler-Hils" AU this was my final exam at school , it has some spoilers about the story... not so spoilers because is similar to the book.

When I returned from a visit to a resort with my sister, my mother did not hesitate to discipline me for this rebelliousness.

Behind my desk, she forced me not to leave my seat until I had finished a thousand and one stitches.

I didn't know if I would stop listening to the sound of my needles clashing before I saw my freedom again.

But in a sudden epiphany, I knew what I had to do, it was my life after all, and I was not going to let my flame go out like that.

Well... I've flipped the coin and there's no turning back now.

Distances in Space

Space is big ! mind numbingly big, so much so, conventional measurements of distance become meaningless. 

Here on Earth, and depending in which country you reside, you may be use to KM or Miles.

We are all use to distances in Miles or KM, you’ll have a notion of what 100 km or miles means, even what 80 KMPH (50MPH) means in terms of speed. 

But try to imagine 384,400 KM (238,800 Miles), you probably couldn’t imagine that speed per hour, and it’s not easy to picture the distance, but you certainly know it’s far. I mean, at 80KMPH, it will take 4805 hours (200.2 days) none stop, constant speed. 

The moon is 384,400 KM from earth, so that’s the distance you took 200 days to travel.

Now, try to imagine 149,600,000 KM .. It’s fair to say, once numbers head into the millions of KM’s, it becomes rather impossible to appreciate. In our 80KMPH car, that would be 1.87 million hours (77916 days, c 213 years)

Welcome to the Sun

It’s fair to say, once a distance for travel at speeds we can understand extend beyond a human lifespan, you quickly realise it’s impossible to really grasp the distance. It’s at this point we create a new unit of measurement, the Astronomical Unit (AU). 

1 AU = the distance between the Sun and the Earth (the average), or 213 years of driving in your car at 80KMPH without a toilet or tank fillup break. It also makes it a little earlier to work out the distances of our planets within our star system (Solar System). 

Mercury is .39 AU from the sun

Venus is .72AU 

Earth is 1AU 

Mars is 1.5AU

Jupiter is 5.2AU

Saturn is 9.5AU

Uranus is 19AU

Neptune is 30AU 

Pluto is 39.5AU

So to crack a joke, it will take over 4000 years to travel by car at 80KMPH to reach Uranus ! 

The closest star to our sun is Proxima Centauri

In AU, that is 268,770 AU from the Sun, or 57.2 million years in your car. I think it’s fair to say the car analogy is becoming impossible to maintain, we’ve hit millions again, and as the closest star, 268,770 AU is fairly hard to get your mind around. 

So when we measure the distances between stars, we move to yet another measurement unit, the light year.

Proxima is 4.243 Light Years from our Sun. 1 light year is the distance light can travel in 1 year, so light from Proxima is 4.24 years old, and even if we built a space ship to travel there, that managed to get to the speed of light, it would from Earth at least, appear to take 4.2 years to get there.

There is another measurement, parsecs (3.26 Light years) but as it doesn’t make a huge amount of difference to the scales in galactic terms, I’ll not introduce it.

Il portatile non si carica più? Ecco cosa fare quando la batteria del pc non si carica

Il notebook è collegato alla rete elettrica ma non si carica?

È un disagio non indifferente visto che, ovviamente, dal momento in cui notiamo che il nostro pc non si carica più tramite alimentatore, la vita residua del nostro portatile è determinata dalla durata residua della batteria.

Come diversi problemi in ambito informatico, le ragioni per cui la batteria del nostro computer non si carica più sono molteplici.

Le prime opzioni da prendere in considerazione sono giustamente le più semplici, ad esempio la possibilità che sia l’alimentatore che non funziona, non le parti interne del pc. Quando prendiamo in considerazione il gusto dell’alimentatore i test da fare sono semplici ed immediati.

Per prima cosa provate a scollegare l’alimentatore, attendere alcuni minuti e cambiare presa di corrente. Alcune tipologie di alimentatori possono smettere di funzionare temporaneamente per proteggere il vostro hardware da un eventuale problema di corrente.
