Crazy! We went to say goodbye to my mom then went to the airport very early, we were in line for a very long time. Then when I got to the counter they wanted to send me to another very long line. I told the lady that I would not move because they asked several times if we were going to NYC OR Atlanta. Another 1.5 hours and they got us in an airplane to JFK tonight at 7:30. Meaning we’re getting there super late. Then we need to find a flight to Memphis hopefully tomorrow and as I understand, they also need to put us up at a hotel.

I got it in my mind I wanna do a crochet temperature blanket or, idk, scarf maybe? Not for this year bc it’s already almost june but I’ve been looking at temps this year to try & determine colors/a scale to aim for.
We don’t get many days over 90F but winter varies a enough I want to use a variety of colors so it’s not a big block of one color, like if I just did 32F and under it would def be a huge block.
I’m looking into different stitches for weather too, just rain snow sun or cloudy but idk what 4 stitches would be distinctive but still cohesive enough. But we have so many rainy days it would be a nice touch I think to be able to pick that out. Much 2 think about

we’re in marseilles right now and it kind of is insane to fly two hours out of the netherlands where it’s cloudy and 55F and be somewhere where it’s 90F and cactuses just grow on the side of the road out of the ground

Is it sunny out? Is there a breeze? Is it raining or clear? Is it indoors or outdoors? And how humid out is it?
You can have a cool crisp 61f/16c degree day without the air stirring, and if it is humid then it can be very uncomfortable, but if it's dry it could be quite nice. You can have a cloudy 90f/32c with a brisk wind that is not uncomfortable.
Comfort is a matter of more than temperature. Humidity, sunshine (and sunlight intensity), and wind also play important parts to the comfort of the day or eve. :)
Personality test, is 80f/26c too hot for you?

I got two new sprouts from the 3 new pot seeds I planted. Still time for the 3rd to come out. If it does I'll have 6 plants total. I'm still in awe that the one with two leafs left from the cat attack is coming back strong.
Couple of the plants are potentially showing their nodes that determine sex, but it's too early to tell yet if they're female. The seeds are auto-feminized but it's still possible to get a male. But if I get a male I will probably put it with my smallest pot plant to get seeds. I'll keep them separate from the rest.
So right now my plants are safe and happy in the room that my sister furnished for herself and is mostly her room for when she comes with her kids, but also is a guest room on rare occasions. So the plants can't stay there (kids could destroy them, BIL doesn't like pot anyway) So they will eventually need to be moved.
The plan was always the backyard, and in early spring before the leaves came in, I saw how much better direct sun outside grew the plants (that my cat eventually ate when I took them in for a freeze and my mom left the guest room open) So, I only have 3 smaller plants left and 2 new sprouts, maybe 3. The trees have filled in the backyard and now finding decent sun for the length they need is tough. We had picked a spot where we thought simple trimming would give it great sun but there were higher up leaves affecting the light and it was no good. In other areas there are times the sun pokes through and gives decent sun for a while a couple times in the day, but I worry they need more.
Still, they have to go outside. I can't keep them in, I don't have a decent place to put them. Plus my parents don't want an indoor only setup because they pay the electricity.
So I decided I'm going to get a grow lamp and rechargeable power station with a regular plug. I will supplement the light when it's in the shade or on cloudy days. The greenhouse can protect the setup from rain but I wouldn't risk it and I won't want to go out in it anyway.
Since I pretty much spend my days at home, it'll be easy to charge, turn on, turn off and charge again. It probably seems like a bit much, but it's just how it's got to be. I will be using electricity, yes, but not as much if I was to supply all their light indoors.
Plus we really need a portable power station anyway. Last year we had two blackouts that lasted like 4-6 hours. I was able to just watch stuff on my phone but one time my battery was getting low. Luckily sibling was visiting and lent me her portable charger. We haven't had a blackout in a long time, but global warming is causing hotter summers and the blackouts were when the temp was in the high 90F range, which we had A Lot of last year, it sucked.
I'm trying to find a charger that isn't just USB though. It would be mighty handy if it could handle a blackout too so you can plug in anything you might need, like a fan. I'm still shopping around. But in essence I'm buying something I already need to get, and then some grow lamps I can attach to the greenhouse armature.
Really hoping this works. I need to get this to work, because I won't always be able to count on my parents for pot to help with chronic pain and anxiety.

May 22- Memphis
There was torrential rain and wind last night. Today is is very cloudy; the temperature dropped from 90F yesterday to 67F. Crazy!!
Elvis all day today as we visited his house, Graceland! It is located about 15-20 minutes from downtown Memphis, but I imagine that when he bought it in 1947, the area must have been not built up. Now it looks small, surrounded by stores, commercial strips and hotels. It is a marketing heaven! The 13 acres property is located on one side of Elvis Presley Blvd and parking and theater, venues, shops, etc is on the other side of the road. There is even a hotel for people who want to the the “VIP Elvis Experience”. You can even get a yearly pass!! There is the Gladys Diner, the Vernon Smokehouse, the Minnie Mae Ice cream shop, etc. There are his many cars and motorcycles, boats, even a whole section devoted to his service in the army. His family must have kept every single paper pertaining to him. Most of the exhibits show his childhood, early music career, movies, etc. he is shown at his best, most handsome and popular. Not much is said of his later years, when he was bloated, and not that great a performer. As someone who grew up with his music, I really enjoyed every aspect of the museum. He was a game changer, a defínete influence on many musicians and was his own person. The house is colonial style, simple, not ornate from the outside. The inside is a different story: gaudy, too much gold, kind of dark, reflecting his taste and style. The upstairs or private area is off limits, so the visit includes the living room, dining area, kitchen, basement with the media room, mothers bedroom. Outside we saw his gym/racquetball court, fathers studio, smokehouse. He kept horses, which he rode, on the property. We spent 4+ hours in the place and could have spent many more. It is more detailed and complete than all the presidential libraries that I have seen. A truly remarkable place and again a piece of my life!!
