AAAUUUUGGHHHHH feels so good to write again after so long xx i missed my silly little desk chair and my silly little pillow and my silly little desk lamp
surgery talk ahead, there are no pictures or mentions of gore or anything, but if you don't feel like reading medical stuff today maybe scroll past
tldr: i'm doing pretty good, all things considered. I'm home now and my cat is very happy to see me and I am singing praises to past!aud for making coldbrew coffee and also to @vastderp for being awesome and helping me out all day
It was kinda hectic--something happened that made everybody run just a tiny bit late for everything, so the poor nurses were in a big hurry. It's a good thing I fasted and didn't drink beforehand because it turns out the procedure was: 1. do various blood tests and put IVs in (ow) 2. give me a sleepy IV 3. do a nerve block up my left arm to the armpit 4. SURGERY!!!
so no gas, no tubes, nothing like that, thank goodness.
Then I got very sleepy and they took me in the ER and did their thing, and since I slept like crap the night before I just kinda dozed off and they put this big space blanket over me at some point so i wouldn't see what they were doing
and then, since I was under the impression they were still preparing, I blearily told Dr. Hans, "oh hey, when you get started, don't worry about explaining any of it to me, just go ahead and get in there" and he blinked at me and said "Oh, you're all done! :D"
So that was nice X) They put me in a soft splint and an arm sling and sent me home.
The part where my entire arm was completely numb for about four hours was really disturbing though. I remember holding my own hand, (and not being able to feel me holding my own hand, aaauuuugghhhhh) which was a puffy sad little iodine colored paw. Every so often my arm would just kinda float off on its own or slide out of the sling, which was horrifying, and I accidentally bopped myself in the nose a few times.
Then @vastderp proceeded to be a complete hero and not only stick around with me almost the whole time at the hospital distracting me with funny stuff off reddit, but he kept @mercurialmalcontent updated and got me breakfast and spent the whole day bringing me water and helping me off the couch and stuff. Dave the cat also expressed his concern by repeatedly noofing and headbutting my unresponsive hand.
Also on the way home from the hospital, we rocked out to this:

But now the feeling has returned, and I can type with both hands, and while my hand is still pretty puffy and the surgery site hurts, it's actually pretty bearable? I have coffee and ice packs and pain meds and I'm gonna be fine.
Still incredibly sleepy though. I can take this splint off tomorrow at least.
typing ideas for a dnf fic on a google docs. why do I have so much planned out. I have done so much world building in like, 10 minutes. BUT THE PLOT IS FUCKED!!! THE PLOT MIGHT AS WELL NOT EXIST!!! WHERE THE FUCK DO I START THE STORY??? WHOSE’S POV SHOULD IT BE FROM??? PRESENT DAY OR AT THE START OF THE DISC WARS???? AAAUUUUGGHHHHH HELP MEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
