No, never compare yourself to genius ; compare your own worth and absorb their genius ..

Work and its absorption comes from the audience that comes to the show and gives their unstinted time and energy to enhance the proceedings .. it is they that make the show .. they applaud , they laugh , they acknowledge the winner , they smile and give credit when due and above all they assist in the winnings of the contestant when ever he or she seeks the 'audience poll ' ..

My extreme love and admiration for them, and even though the event is over, I do go around and give an opportunity to take personal pictures with them , to talk at times, to meet the elderly that make an effort to come , and to accept the hand made gifts that many bring ..

.. their laughter in admiration ..

.. the middle aged and the elderly ..

... an old acquaintance , now weak but full of love and remembrance ..

The Leader of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan said this while briefing newsmen in Abuja after a closed door meeting of APC caucus members.

Members of the All Progressives Congress(APC) Caucus in the Senate, has said that the party remains in control of the National Assembly.

The Leader of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, who spoke on behalf of the caucus, while briefing newsmen in Abuja after about three hours closed session, said there was no cause for concern.

He said, “out of the 109 senate seats, the APC has 52, the PDP has 50, the ADC has three and APGA has two.

“Recall that we lost two of our colleagues, one from Katsina, one from Bauchi. So, we have two vacancies. If you put this together we have 109.

“I want to assure you that by the grace of God, INEC will conduct by-elections to fill in the vacancies in Bauchi and Katsina and by the grace of God they are our safest seats.

“We are still expecting some of our colleagues in the PDP who are originally our members to defect.

“They have expressed willingness to join APC and for our collleagues that have left we are still optimistic that many of them or all of them will have a change of heart.

“APC remains the majority party in the Senate and in the House of Representatives,” he said.

The lawmaker said the APC lawmakers would continue to support President President Muhammadu Buhari to deliver on his promises to Nigerians.

He gave the names of the 52 senators still with the APC to include Adamu Aliero-Kebbi, Yahaya Abdullahi-Kebbi, Bala Ibn N’Allah-Kebbi, Aliyu Wamakko-Sokoto, Ibrahim Gobir-Sokoto and Ahmed Yerima-Zamfara.

Others are, Kabiru Marafa-Zamfara, Tijjani Kaura-Zamfara, Abu Ibrahim- Katsina, Umar Kurfi-Katsina, Kabiru Gaya-Kano, Barau Jibrin-Kano, Abdullahi Gumel-Jigawa, Sabo Mohammed-Jigawa, Shehu Sani-Kaduna.

APC Is Still The Majority In The Senate - Ahmed Lawan (See Full List)

It was gathered that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC is still in full control of the Senate as it outnumbers the Opposition Peoples Democratic Party with two Senators.

Senate leader, Ahmed Lawan revealed this at a press conference on Tuesday after a 2-hour intense meeting with the APC caucus in the Senate. Lawan said;

“You’ll recall that some members of our family, the APC family gave a list that they have decamped from the APC to the PDP and other parties, the ADC in particular. It is with a heavy heart that we have to watch our brothers and sisters in the APC caucus take the action they did.

“And we still are optimistic and confident that we will work with our leaders of the APC to bring back our colleagues who had gone.

“The essence of this press briefing is to let you know that even though some of our colleagues have left, the APC remains the majority party in the Senate in terms of numbers. Out of the 109 senators, APC has 52, the PDP has 50, ADC has three and APGA has two. And you’ll recall that we lost two of our colleagues. So we have two vacant seats and the total gives you 109.”

“I want to assure you that by the grace of God, INEC will conduct the by-elections, the APC will win because these are our safest seats.

“In addition, we are still expecting some of our colleagues in the original PDP who have expressed willingness to join the APC.

“For our colleagues that have left, we are still optimistic that many of them or all of them will have a change of heart.

“APC remains the majority party in the Senate. I will not be speaking for the House of Reps but I want to tell you too that APC remains 0the majority party too in the House of Reps.

“I want to use this opportunity to tell Nigerians that APC remains the majority and this majority will continue to support Mr. President to ensure that we fulfill our campaign promises. I have a list, we don’t do our things like others do, we back whatever we say with facts.”

Mr. Lawan brought out a list where he read the names of the 52 senators he claimed to be in APC.

Amino acid functionalized zinc oxide nanostructures for cytotoxicity effect and hemolytic behavior: Theoretical and experimental studies

Tripathi, Gurinder Singh, Aman Kaura Blending of theoretical and experimental approach, provide an important strategy in designing the nanostructure at a microscopic level and helps in predicting the response of synthesized material towards inhibition of the growth of breast cancer cell. In this work, ab initio calculations using super cell approach are performed for three different amino acids (AAs)-Histidine (His), Arginine (Arg) and Aspartic acid (Asp) coated Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanostructures to explain the growth mechanism of nanoparticles (NPs) of different shapes. Based on the first principles calculations, we reveal that ZnO-AA (Arg and Asp) NPs results in rod like and ZnO-His NPs lead to tablet like configuration. Similar morphologies are fabricated using AAs through synthetic route. The effect of concentration ratio of reactants and pH has been studied. As synthesized samples, are characterized by using Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and UV–Vis spectroscopy techniques. Based on the results, a plausible mechanism of formation of nanostructures has been proposed. The nanostructures with rod like morphology are found to be biocompatible with normal red blood cells and show cytotoxic effect as evaluated from hemolysis and cytotoxicity assays on breast (MCF-7, T47D, MDA-MB-231) & prostate cancer (PC-3) cell lines.
