BJP Prioritizes Ideology Over National Interest: Opposition Reacts to Lifting Ban on Government Employees in RSS
The recent central government order lifting the long-standing ban on government employees participating in RSS activities has ignited a political firestorm. Ahead of the Budget Session of the Lok Sabha, this move has been met with sharp criticism from opposition parties, while the RSS and BJP have staunchly defended it.
Tumblr media
The Controversial Order
Earlier this month, the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pension issued an order lifting the ban on government employees engaging in RSS activities. This ban, initially imposed in 1966, was deemed “unconstitutional” by the RSS and BJP, who argue that it should never have been implemented.
Silence from Allies
Allies such as the Janata Dal (United) and Rashtriya Lok Dal have remained silent on the matter. JD(U) national spokesperson K C Tyagi refused to comment, while RLD national spokesperson Mohammad Islam indicated he would discuss the issue within the party before making any statements.
Opposition’s Outcry
The opposition, however, has not held back. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh took to social media to highlight the order, pointing out the historical context of the ban, which was reinforced in 1966 despite assurances from the RSS after Gandhi’s assassination. Ramesh criticized the government, noting the recent strain in relations between the Modi administration and the RSS.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi condemned the order, stating it threatens India’s integrity and unity. He emphasized that the RSS has historically refused to accept the Constitution, national flag, and national anthem, making it incompatible with civil service duties.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi expressed concerns about the potential bias in government agencies, stating that the order allows officials to overtly display their RSS affiliations. She criticized the BJP for prioritizing ideological interests over national interests.
Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien voiced his disappointment, while BSP president Mayawati accused the government of appeasing the RSS for political gains, calling the order politically motivated and against national interests.
Defending the Decision
In contrast, the RSS and BJP defended the lifting of the ban. RSS publicity in-charge Sunil Ambekar argued that the Sangh has been a constructive force in nation-building and disaster response, making the ban unjustified. He claimed that the decision strengthens India’s democratic system.
BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya echoed these sentiments, calling the original 1966 ban unconstitutional. He highlighted the historical context of the ban following a massive anti-cow-slaughter protest and noted that even Indira Gandhi had considered lifting the ban in 1977 for political support.
Conclusion
As the debate rages on, the central government’s decision to lift the ban on government employees participating in RSS activities continues to polarize political opinions. While the RSS and BJP see it as a correction of historical wrongs, the opposition views it as a dangerous blending of state and ideology that undermines national interests.

Anything to stop Narendra Modi from becoming Prime Minister; Asaduddin Owaisi
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, the candidate for the Lok Sabha seat from Hyderabad, openly said that he is willing to support anyone other than Narendra Modi in the fight for prime ministerial candidate.
In a statement to ANI, Mr. Owaisi said "I cannot talk about ifs, buts, and possibilities. I had said during the elections that if there is a chance that someone else can become the PM instead of Modi, then we will support them."
Talking about the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, Owaisi said that getting this many votes in the election should not have happened for BJP this time.
The atmosphere that was there in the country, according to the BJP should not have got even this number of seats. If we had done the right work they would have just got 150 seats. We could have stopped the BJP from forming the government and even the public wanted this, but were unsuccessful. But, at least we cannot be blamed," said Mr Owaisi.
"One thing is clear there wasn't any Muslim vote bank in the country and there never will be," he added.
Owaisi also talked about the BJP’s performance in Uttar Pradesh and said, "They thought they were invisible in UP but no one is invincible. Will PM Modi run the government with the help of crutches?"
Mr. Owaisi recorded 6,61,981 votes and defeated BJP's Madhavi Latha.
Thanking the people, Owaisi in a press conference said, I would like to thank the people as they have given success to Majlis for the fifth time. I would like to thank the people of Hyderabad, especially the youth, women, and first-time voters who have given a historic success to the AIMIM party."

In the Race for Uttar Pradesh: The Impact of Owaisi-Apna Dal Faction Alliance
The battleground of Uttar Pradesh's Lok Sabha elections is heating up, with major players like the BJP-led NDA and the Samajwadi Party-Congress INDIA bloc gearing up for a fierce contest. However, amidst the political juggernauts, the emergence of a new 'front' comprising smaller parties, including AIMIM and Apna Dal (K), has the potential to reshape the state's political landscape.
Tumblr media
This newly formed alliance, named the 'PDM Nyay Morcha', aims to represent the marginalized sections of society, posing a direct challenge to the SP's PDA (Pichchde, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) pitch. Led by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and Apna Dal (K) leader Pallavi Patel, the alliance aims to capitalize on the sentiments of the Muslim-Yadav vote bank, traditionally aligned with the SP.
The AIMIM, although a relatively new player in Uttar Pradesh politics, has shown signs of promise, particularly in urban local body elections. Similarly, Apna Dal (K), founded as a splinter group from the BSP, has struggled to establish itself but remains a formidable force, especially in certain constituencies.
Despite their individual challenges, the combined force of AIMIM and Apna Dal (K) could potentially sway the electoral outcomes, especially in constituencies where their vote shares exceed the winning margins. While they may not emerge as major players in terms of Lok Sabha seats, their impact on the electoral dynamics cannot be overlooked.
As the political landscape continues to evolve, all eyes will be on how this alliance shapes the electoral narrative and influences the outcomes in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections.

Citizenship Act CAA Unconstitutional? 237 Petitions Before Top Court Today
Amid the row over the Centre's move to implement the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) weeks before Lok Sabha election, the Supreme Court will hear today a batch of 237 petitions challenging the law. A bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and comprising Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Misra will hear the matter.
Tumblr media
Among the petitioners are Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), a political party primarily based in Kerala, and Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, Trinamool leader Mahua Moitra and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.
The day after the Centre notified CAA rules, the two organisations approached the Supreme Court, seeking a pause on the implementation of the law. They termed CAA "discriminatory" against the Muslim community.
Back in 2019, when the Citizenship Amendment Bill cleared the Parliament, multiple petitions had been filed against it. But the court had not paused its implementation because the rules had not been notified. On Friday, Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal told the court that there was no question of a pause back then since the rules were not notified. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta then said that the fact that the rules were notified before the elections was irrelevant.
Under this law, non-Muslim migrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan fleeing religious persecution can seek Indian citizenship. Persons from Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi or Christian communities from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh, who entered India on or before December 31, 2014, are eligible to seek citizenship under CAA.
The Opposition has slammed the Narendra Modi government over the timing of the law's implementation - four years after it cleared the Parliament. The move is "evidently designed to polarise the elections, especially in West Bengal and Assam", party leader Jairam Ramesh has said.
Trinamool Congress chief and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said she doubts the legality of CAA and alleged a conspiracy to "snatch citizenship rights". "BJP leaders say CAA gives you rights. But the moment you apply for citizenship, you become illegal migrants and you will lose your rights. You will lose rights and be taken to detention camps. Please think before you apply," she said.
The Centre has trashed the Opposition's allegations. Stressing that the CAA is not "unconstitutional", Home Minister Amit Shah has accused the Opposition of resorting to the "politics of lies". On the timing of the law's implementation, he said, "BJP made it clear in its 2019 manifesto that it will bring CAA and provide Indian citizenship to refugees (from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan). BJP has a clear agenda and under that promise, the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill was passed in both houses of Parliament in 2019. It got delayed due to Covid."
He has also said that minorities of the country "need not be afraid because CAA has no provision to take back the rights of any citizen".

BREAKING NEWS: BJP has done it! CAA rules have been notified! Four years after its passage in Parliament, the CAA Bill has finally taken effect. The government of India issued a notification of the CAA Bill just a few weeks ahead of the Lok Sabha election. Following the issuance of this notification, it signifies a pivotal moment for individuals belonging to the Non-Muslim communities from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, which are neighboring countries of India. These individuals, compelled by religious persecution, sought refuge in India prior to December 31, 2014. Through this notification, the Indian government has made a decisive move, extending the promise of citizenship to these migrants. This announcement represents a significant gesture of inclusivity and compassion, acknowledging the plight of those who have faced persecution based on their religious beliefs. It marks a step towards ensuring that those who have sought sanctuary in India find not just refuge but also a sense of belonging and security within the nation's borders.
The rules have been significantly relaxed such as lesser documentation, an online portal, and lower residency requirements! This Act would remove the legal barriers to citizenship while giving a dignified life to these refugees!! However, not everyone is happy. - Congress has slammed the government’s timing on the matter while calling it BJP’s attempt at ‘divisive politics’ and ‘designed to polarise the elections’. - West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has announced that the TMC will be opposing the Act since it ‘infringes upon people’s rights’! - AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi claimed that CAA was divisive, ‘based on Godse’s thought’, and ‘wanted to reduce Muslims to second-class citizens’!! - Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan has announced that the Act would not be implemented in Kerala!! What do you think? Is CAA a helpful move or a divisive political agenda?? Follow Jobaaj Stories (the media arm of Jobaaj.com Group) for more.

Owaisi said on statement of PM MODI on UCC
Tumblr media
Asaduddin Owaisi alleged that Pasmanda Muslims are being exploited in the country. He said that before asking for votes, BJP workers should go door-to-door and apologize: Asaduddin Owaisi
Tumblr media
Owaisi On UCC:
AIMIM Chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has targeted PM Modi on the issue of UCC. He tweeted on Tuesday (June 27), "Narendra Modi has made some comments on Triple Talaq, Uniform Civil Code and Pasmanda Muslims. It seems Modi ji could not understand Obama's suggestion properly. Owaisi further wrote, "Modi ji, tell me, will you abolish the "Hindu Undivided Family" (HUF)? Because of this, the country is suffering a loss of Rs 3064 crore every year. On one hand, you are a crocodile for Pasmanda Muslims. Shedding tears and on the other hand your pawns are attacking their mosques, snatching their jobs, bulldozing their houses, killing them through lynching and opposing their reservation.
" What did Owaisi say on PM's statement?
He said, "If you talk about different set of rules, then why only United Hindu family is being given tax. Isn't it against the right of equality of the constitution. Marriage in Islam is a contract, birth in Hindu It is not about the Uniform Civil Code, it is about the Hindu Civil Code. The aim is to target the Muslims of India.
Owaisi made this allegation
AIMIM chief said, "Your government has abolished the scholarship of poor Muslims. If Pasmanda Muslims are being exploited then what are you doing? Before asking for votes of Pasmanda Muslims your workers will go door to door Apologize that your spokesperson and MLA has insolent in the glory of our Nabi-e-Kareem."
"Exploitation on women has increased further"
Owaisi continued his attack on the PM, saying, "Referring to Pakistan, Modi ji has said that there is a ban on triple talaq. Why is Modi ji getting so much inspiration from Pakistan's law? You have even made a law against triple talaq here, but it has not made any difference at the ground level, rather the exploitation of women has increased further. We have always been demanding that the law will not lead to social reform. If it has to be made, it should be made against those men who leave their wives and run away even after marriage.
